Pam Reveals Details of Premiere Episode
We’ve known for a little while now that the title of True Blood’s Season 5 premiere episode is “Turn, Turn, Turn.” According to Kristin Bauer van Straten, it’s rather poignant. On October 26, she told HollywoodLife.com that after she read the script twice, she thought:
Oh my god, [the title’s] perfect! It’s so brilliant how each storyline, from where it left off at the end of last year, hits a major fork in the road that we’re launched into for the first episode of the new season. It’s very exciting. It left me wanting more so badly, and my only option was to read it again. These writers are really amazing.
She was, of course, tight-lipped about any juicy details, but when asked if there are any big changes for Pam, she laughed wickedly at the interviewer. I suppose that’s about as good a hint as any that watchers can expect from the cast.
With seemingly endless months to go until the premiere, what big changes do you want to see in the new season? Let us know your wish list in the comments section! Happy new year everyone!

November Issue Features the Undead:
SFX magazine, a British, science fiction-based publication, displays some favorite True Blood actors on the cover of their November issue — Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgård.
Among other expositions on the latest undead junctures, SFX celebrated the return of True Blood to UK airwaves with an article on the 20 things they love about the show and feature (in true British style) “civilized chats” with Moyer, Joe Manganiello and Kristin Bauer van Straten.
If anyone can find the article, let us know if it’s worth a gander in the comments section.

Proceeds Go to the Screen Actors Guild (SAG):
It’s auction time again for HBO’s True Blood. This time, on offer, is a studio tour with True Blood composer, Nathan Barr. Barr has composed the music for all four seasons of our favorite hit HBO TV series.
This item is being auctioned on eBay and there is not a lot of time left! Barr has worked with the likes of Alan Ball and the master or gore-horror, Eli Roth. Not only does Barr compose the music – he plays it too! And not just your everyday items, he has in his studio amongst other peculiar items, the following: a human bone trumpet from Tibet, dismantled pianos and gourd cellos.
Make sure you bid on this item before it gets away. All proceeds will go to helping out Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and their fabulous (and award winning) children’s literacy programs, BookPALS and Storyline Online. Plus, benefits will also go to the Foundation’s Catastrophic Health Fund and the Actors Center.
You can bid on the item here. Let us know how high you go!

Gorgeous Star of OZ and Law and Order: SVU Joining S5!
Better news could not have rocked my Wednesday morning/week/month. I’m overjoyed, like a gay kid on Christmas who just received his first Judy Garland album, to hear that Christopher Meloni, the hunk from OZ and SVU, will be joining the True Blood cast as a regular in in Season 5. I’ve loved Christopher Meloni, as apparently many queers have, since his frequent nudity and depiction of man-on-man love aired in HBO’s series OZ. In the 90s, you’ll remember, “the world was a lot different… There was no Glee, men didn’t kiss on camera, but Chris Meloni did.” He also played a doofy, but always sexy in cutoff jean shorts, camp chef in Wet Hot American Summer (alongside Paul Rudd and Janeane Garofalo.)
Alan Ball revealed that Meloni’s character will be “an ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands.” Awesome! I can’t wait to see the strapping Meloni exude his impressive sexiness all over the screen. I’ve missed him in the cast of SVU since he left. The show is seriously lacking since the oft quick-tempered, Elliott Stabler’s upper-hand is missing, but I couldn’t be happier that he’s joining the cast of True Blood. The thought of his empirical comfortability with nudity for HBO is sending me into wild True Blood fantasies involving Bill and Eric… Fans can also wait, with bated breath I’m sure, for the new Superman movie to be released in 2013 that will feature Meloni.
Below is a tamed, YouTube version of some of Meloni’s gay scenes from OZ. Racier ones can be found elsewhere. 😉

“Fresh Pile of Crazy” to Hit Bon Temps:
Valentina Cervi, an Italian actress who recently appeared on the BBC miniseries Zen, is set to stir up Bon Temps for the upcoming fifth season of HBO’s True Blood. She will play Salome, a seductive vampire who is super intelligent. To put it lightly, she has a lot of crazy stirring in her and might just be the most powerful person because she will keep it hidden inside of her to get what she wants.
Hmmm, sounds like Maryann all over again, Truebies… do any of you think Salome and Sookie will get along?

From SVU to Vampire!
Well, it’s official – Chris Meloni (who played Detective Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: SVU) will be joining the cast of True Blood for Season 5. Not only will he be a season regular, but he will be a vampire to boot! Alan Ball recently broke the news on TVline, saying that Meloni will play:
an ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands.
Sounds intriguing, that’s for sure. Chris has recently left the hit series, Law & Order: SVU due to a pay dispute. This has turned out to be a massive plus for HBO fans.
Who is sad to see him leave SVU? And who is excited he’s joined the cast of True Blood? Let us know!

From Jason Stackhouse to Nerd!
For fans of HBO’s True Blood, Ryan Kwanten is known as the lovable but less than intelligent, Jason Stackhouse, brother to the much loved waitress, Sookie. But Kwanten is very versatile when it comes to acting roles. While he is happy with the part of Jason, during the off-season of True Blood, he prefers to play roles that are distinctly different to Stackhouse. Take his role in Griff the Invisible (available now on DVD and Blu-Ray):
“I love working on ‘True Blood’ don’t get me wrong, but when I’m not shooting it, I try to get as far away from Jason and that world as I can. ‘Griff the Invisible’ was a challenge for me but also it was nice to experience something new. I think that everyone has this dreamer inside of them and whether they choose to embrace or suppress, I feel like it’s in there.”
And how does he think Jason fared in the recent season of True Blood? Well, he seems to think that with all of Jason’s bad luck this season, the only way he has to go is up. Which is something we all like to hear!
In true actor-style, when asked by ExtraTV about which superpower he would like to have, he replied:
“I really like the power of imagination. For me, a great superpower would be to somehow convey whatever imagination I could conjure up in my small, little head that could then transpire into real life.”
