Australia WILL Host Another True Blood Spectacular!

June 24, 2013

Seamus O’Toole’s Opens the Doors to Club Fangasia Again:

True Blood Club Fangtasia halloween Party Promo Poster 1There were rumors last year that the True Blood-inspired Halloween party held at Club Fangtasia (AKA Seamus O’Toole’s) would be the last True Blood event for the establishment.

This disheartened so many Australian True Blood fans, I can tell you!

2012 was the third year Seamus O’Toole’s had hosted the popular vampire-inspired Halloween party – and boy did they excel all expectations! Not only was there plenty of Tru Blood on tap, prizes on offer and dress ups on guests, but they also managed to lure some of the True Blood cast to turn up!

Even with the arrival of Hurricane Sandy and the advent of some major shuffling of True Blood cast members, they still managed to pull in Marshall Allman (Tommy Mickens) and everyone’s favorite screamer, Ginger (Tara Buck)! TrueBloodNet even managed to tie down an EXCLUSIVE interview with them.

Well, with the arrival of True Blood Season 6, it was recently confirmed that Seamus O”Toole’s WILL be hosting another True Blood event!

While information is still scant, make sure you check back here often for all the latest updates. Alternatively, you can sign up to Club Fangtasia’s newsletter by clicking here and supplying your email address.

Anna Camp RETURNS to True Blood in Season 6

June 23, 2013

Sarah Newlin is Hotter and Holier Than Ever Before!

Anna Camp stars as Sarah Newlin in HBO's True Blood Season 6We last saw Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) on True Blood way back in in 2009 as Minister Steve Newlin’s (Michael McMillian) adulterous wife. Set to reappear in Bon Temps in the June 30 episode of HBO’s True Blood, Anna Camp tells us a little of what’s been happening in Mrs Newlin’s life.

“…she’s written a best-selling book about what it means to be a Christian fighting vampires. And she’s working her way into politics, because she’s craving more power and fame.”

In an interview with William Keck from TV guide, not only are some brand new images of Anna Camp in True Blood’s Season 6 revealed, but the actress reveals about all that sexy horn-dog stuff she did with Jason (Ryan Kwanten) in the Church back in Season 2’s episode entitled “Hard Hearted Hannah”, and if there will be any repeat performances:

Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) and Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) star in HBO's True Blood Season 6Sarah is a very sexual lady who still has a soft place in her heart for Jason Stackhouse. There’s a scene where I come over to his house after a long, hard day and things ensue”

I’m going to go with a yes on that one then, but it seems Jason isn’t the only one.

What about Mr Steve Newlin (Michael McMillan)? He’d now be seen at the devil incarnate by Sarah since he’s a gay vampire!

Sarah is not happy about what’s become of him and confronts him head-on.”

And his response?

“He’s not really in a position to be able to speak.”

Hmmmm I think there are some interesting scenes afoot ….. Don’t you?

True Blood Season 6 Star Jurnee Smollett-Bell Premiere’s Tonight!

June 23, 2013

Jurnee Smollett-Bell Gets Set for Episode 2, ‘The Sun‘ Premiere:

Jurnee Smollett-Bell stars as Nicole Wright in HBO's True Blood Season 6

Jurnee Smollett-Bell (who will play a character called Nicole) is excited about the arrival of her first True Blood Season 6 episode, entitled The Sun and premiering tonight on HBO. She had this to say to Elle.com about her character, who is a political activist:

She comes to Bon Temps as an activist, as an organizer, to help with the war the humans have waged against the humans and supernaturals. I come to Sam [Merlotte, played by Sam Trammell] initially to try to recruit him and get him to come out of the closet as a shifter. It terrifies him. Nicole would be occupying Wall Street in the regular world, but it’s the vampire cause here.

While Smollett-Bell had never seen an episode of True Blood before landing the role, she is now up to date on all the goings on in Bon Temps and Shreveport. She is, however, glad to be working with such a professional group of cast and crew:

I’ve had that experience before, and the show is made of amazing actors. It’s thrilling to be in the company of pros, because it makes your job easier and harder at the same time. They’re so great to work with, but you have to be better and improve in every single scene.

True Blood’s Former Showrunner on Season 6 Premier

June 23, 2013

Check out Alan Ball’s reaction on the premier:

Alan Ball talks about HBO's True Blood Season 6Alan Ball, the former show runner of HBO’s True Blood, attended the season 6 premier party. Here’s what he thought about the premier:

“I loved it. I thought it was the perfect mix of scares, action and humor. It really makes me want to see what happens next.”

Ball spoke about the show burning him and enjoying his break from working. So what exactly is he up to? Is he planning any upcoming projects?

“I have a series idea that I’m working on and writing on spec and have two screenplays I’m trying to put together. And I’m working on another one, and then I have another one that’s halfway finished. [The show] is unlike either Six Feet Under or True Blood; it’s very different. I’d definitely say it’s a drama, but it’s too early to talk about.”

Rutina Wesley Loves Her Character Reboot In HBO’s True Blood:

June 23, 2013

All Hell is Breaking Loose as True Blood Starts Its 6th Season

rutina-wesley-true-blood-season-6Rutina Wesley plays baby vampire, Tara Thornton on the HBO series, True Blood. At the end of Season 4, viewers were left wondering if Tara would be around at the start of Season 5. To Ms. Wesley’s surprise, and excitement, she was told she’d be made into vampire.

As Season 5 ended, Tara found herself at the center of the stunning events that took place at the New Orleans headquarters of the Vampire Authority. With the start of Season 6, all hell is breaking loose and Tara, Sookie (Anna Paquin), Eric (Alex Skarsgard), Jason (Ryan Kwanten) and others have to flee the scene and regroup.

“We all meet up and just get the hell out of Dodge, because ‘Billith’ is no joke this season. Seriously. We don’t know what to do, because before we can figure out what the next step is, we have to really understand what Bill is — in fact, whether Bill Compton still is even in this thing anymore. You’ll find that out eventually, whether Bill is just completely lost inside.”

Tara finding herself in peril is nothing new. Taking a shotgun blast to the face at the end of Season 4, Tara’s fate hung in the balance. Even when told her character would be ‘turned’, Ms. Wesley wasn’t sure that meant she still had a job for any length of time.

“What? That doesn’t mean that I’m dying, does it?’ Because normally when a character gets turned, they’ve got one more death and then that’s it; they’re gone.”

Playing a Vampire is Exciting, Especially Having Pam as a Maker

When Ms. Wesley learned that her tenure on True Blood would not be short lived, she grew excited about the possibilities for playing Tara as a newly-turned vampire. Even more exciting was having fan favorite Pam (Kristin Bauer-Van Straten) as Tara’s maker. Pam is notoriously over the top and possesses a sexy wardrobe.

“I asked, ‘Ooh, do I get to dress like her? Do I get to be sexy?’ Kristin is just awesome, and as long as I got to dress like Pam, I was OK with it,” Wesley says, “As an actor, something like this is the meat, the thing that keeps you inspired and challenged to do something new. I decided that, as a vampire, Tara would walk in a slightly different way, kind of like a panther, and her voice was going to be lower. There was a whole physical transformation that I tried to work in, but it’s still Tara.”

Not surprisingly, any downside to playing a vampire, according to Ms. Wesley, would be the night shoots. Vampires, being creatures of the night, shoot the majority of their scenes, at night.

Day or night, we’re all excited to still have Tara (and Rutina) right in the thick of things for Season 6!

True Blood Season 6 – Will Sookie Die?

June 21, 2013

Lauren Bowles Has The Answer:

Anna Paquin plays Sookie Stackhouse in HBO's True Blood Season 6

With all the speculation about who will die in True Blood’s Season 6 after Brian Buckner spilled the beans early this month, Truebie fans are starting to panic!

And I don’t blame them – even the least liked main characters have been an integral part of our lives for more than five years now. Many people are speculating over how ‘major’ the major character really is. After all, would HBO kill off Sookie (Anna Paquin), Bill/Billith (Stephen Moyer) or Eric (Alexander Skarsgard)?

It seems the answer is no – or at least not Sookie. Lauren Bowles (who plays Holly Cleary) had this to say to EW.com about the major death occurring in True Blood’s Season 6:

It completely surprised me. There’s not much to say other than it’s completely heartbreaking. It’s heartbreaking. But I really will say it’s one of those that I cried when I read it. Everyone at the table read was crying because in addition to who it is – and by the way, I’m saying that meaning it might be Holly, you don’t know – it truly could be anyone. I think it’s safe to say it’s not Sookie but other than that, it really could be anyone and it is so beautifully done. So it really is heartbreaking.

Well, if it’s not Sookie, who is it then? At the live True Blood Season 6 premiere event, Chris Bauer (Andy Bellefleur) also had this to say about it:

This is a season that takes its toll on the humans, for sure.

So does that mean the major death will be a human character? Well, only time will tell!
