True Blood’s Eric Northman didn’t burst into flames – he was just in training for the Walking With The Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge! The actor who plays HBO’s ‘hottest’ vampire, Alexander Skarsgard, has joined actor Dominic West (best known as Detective Jimmy McNulty in HBO’s The Wire) and Prince Harry (best known for being royalty) in this epic challenge.

Alexander Skarsgard made the following statement on the Walking With The Wounded website about joining this event:

I’m honored to be working and training alongside these soldiers to raise money and awareness for this very worthy cause

So What is Walking with the Wounded?

This charity helps to raise awareness for those of our troops that are injured (both physically and mentally) during combat. The Walking With The Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge includes three teams: Team US, Team UK and Team Commonwealth (Canada/Australia) and they will race each other across the South Pole. Alexander Skarsgard will join the US team and has started training already.

Alongside him will be war veterans and celebrities alike as they train and then trek across the South Pole starting in November 2013. The trek is 208 miles long and will take the participants across the Antarctic plateau and towards the pole.

Skarsgard is no newbie when it comes to training in Iceland and Colorado for this gruelling event since he is actually a former Swedish marine! Prince Harry should find this challenge less harrowing also since, besides being the fun prince, he is also  a captain in the British Army.

So How Can I Help?

While the teams are picked and the training has already started, if you want to help out, you can head on over to the Walking With The Wounded website and donate by clicking here. Your money will go directly to assisting war damaged veterans get the training they need to obtain jobs outside of the military. You can donate online, via text, post or even by donating your old car!

What an amazing guy Alexander is for participating in such an awesome cause!

I’d like to thank the crew at for giving me the heads up about this fantastic event – you guys ROCK!

The movie will make its debut at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on Thursday September 12th 2013, but it appears the hype surrounding the movie was enough for Magnolia Pictures to grab it early. Magnolia’s president, Eamonn Bowles, has described the movie as being a ‘well directed crowd pleaser’.

The Right Kind of Wrong tells the story of Leo Palamino, a failed-writer-turned-dishwasher who’s main claim to fame is the fact that his ex-wife made a video about him called Why You Suck and then posted it to YouTube. If all goes according to plan, then fans should be able to see The Right Kind of Wrong in cinemas early in 2014. I certainly can’t wait for this movie – how about you? Let us know in the comments below!

After the summer of 2014, we will no longer be able to tune in and find out what’s going down in the wacky little down of Bon Temps. We will no longer be able to swoon over Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) as he sits upon his throne in Fangtasia. HBO’s president of programming, Michael Lombardo had the following to say via a press release yesterday:

“’True Blood‘ has been nothing short of a defining show for HBO,” noted Lombardo. “Alan Ball took the books by Charlaine Harris, assembled a brilliant cast led by the magnificent Anna Paquin in the role of Sookie Stackhouse, and crafted a show that has taken its many devoted fans on an unforgettable journey. Alan passed the baton to Brian Buckner, who led our fantastic writers and crew in crafting a spectacular sixth season, and he will lead us through the seventh and final season of this amazing show. Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show.”

True Blood’s Sarah Newlin: Villain, Crazy or Prophet of God in Season 7?

September 2, 2013

Anna Camp Talks About Being Sarah Newlin:

Anna Camp stars as Sarah Newlin in HBO's True Blood Season 7Fans of HBO’s True Blood found the emergence of an unexpected villain in Season 7. While Governor Burrell (Arliss Howard) was instantly recognizable as the bad guy, it was the return of Steve Newlin’s (Michael McMillian) wife, Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) that turned out to be the true villain of True Blood Season 7.

Apparently it was a surprise to Anna Camp also!

I had no idea at first. Each script I got was a bigger and bigger surprise. Sarah always wanted to be the brains behind everything; the woman behind the man. She takes over so unexpectedly, and I don’t know if she was qualified. She thinks she’s cool under pressure, but I don’t think she was prepared to get all that power. She wanted to be Truman’s wife, have a family with him and get into politics and write more books…I don’t know if she was ready to walk down the halls of vamp camp.

Camp also thinks that Sarah Newlin may be very close to slipping over the edge from bad guy and into the realms of crazy. Now that the previous reverend’s wife is a killer, things are beginning to slide downhill for Newlin. Her whole venture into ‘doing God’s work’ is now running the fine line between that and pure insanity. Each thing she does seems to create a new dilemma that makes the last deviation from good seem like a walk in the park compared to the task now at hand.

So How Far Will Sarah Newlin go in True Blood Season 7?

According to Anna Camp, Sarah Newlin is now on a mission to finish what she started. Her hate for vampires has stemmed from the fact that her missing sister was addicted to V. Now, with the dismantlement of vamp camp, Newlin will probably be holed up somewhere, scheming her next plan of attack. And thanking God for making Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) set her free to continue following what she considers the righteous path.

Camp expands on this during an interview with HBO:

She knows what she’s done – I don’t know if anyone ever deserves to die, but she’s certainly been asking for it. But again, to her it’s just another sign from God that she’s doing the right thing. It’s just more fuel to her fire: “I am right. I am God’s tool. He’s speaking through me.” It’s another notch in her belt of craziness… I see her turning into a weird zombie of a woman. I think being sent away will make her more powerful in a sense. She’ll shut down and become a robot for God.

And what does Anna camp think would happen to Sarah Newlin if she was turned into a vampire like her husband?

Getting turned vampire would be the cruelest punishment for her – it’s everything she abhors. I believe if she were turned, she’d commit suicide. She’d crawl to the top of a church and have the whole town there or something. And while she’s frying, scream, “Death to all vampires!” Getting turned and living forever would mean that they won. Taking that away from them, even if it meant killing herself, would be a win for the humans.

So, how far do you think Sarah Newlin will go in True Blood Season 7? Let us know in the comments below.

True Blood Season 7: Will Pam and Tara Hook Up?

September 1, 2013

Or Will Pam Continue Her Search For Eric Northman?

Kristin Bauer van Straten (Pam) and Rutina Wesley (Tara) star in HBO's True Blood Season 6

At he end of HBO’s True Blood Season 5 we saw a passionate kiss between Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and her newly made progeny, Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley). In Season 6, with all the separation between the two of them at vamp camp and a Pam who announced early on in the season that their relationship was not going to be a love story, things looked grim for the hot new pair.

But what about in True Blood’s Season 7? Could their romance bloom now they are free from the claustrophobic environment of vamp camp? Could being able to (briefly) walk in the sun bring them closer together? Or will Pam spend the entire season looking for her maker, Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard)?

Michael Ausiello from TVLine got the opportunity to ask True Blood’s newest showrunner, Brian Buckner, about where the relationship between Pam and Tara is headed. Here is what Buckner had to say:

As the audience heard Pam say in Episode 1, life is long — especially for vampires. She also told Tara that this is not going to be a love story. But I would urge [fans] to be patient. Because if the show delivers on the audience’s expectation every week, that’s not storytelling. Where’s the surprise in that? These [story] threads can be picked up later. I want to be able to tell more interesting, circuitous stories at times and not always deliver on the junk-food promise of the show.

Well, isn’t that interesting? It seems we just have to be a little more patient in this department, but it sure sounds promising.

What do you think? Are you loving the Pam and Tara snark combined into the one relationship? Let us know in the comments below.
