Anna Paquin’s Film “Margaret” to be Released in 2011

July 30, 2010 by Jaimie Dalton

Anna Paquin’s film “Margaret“, in which she plays a traumatized witness to a bus accident, is finally set to be released in 2011.  The film, which co-starts Matt Damon and Mark Ruffalo and was directed by Kenneth Lonergan, was filmed in 2005 and has been stuck in the editing room for the past 5 years.  There was some doubt as to whether it would ever be released but Fox Searchlight confirmed earlier this week that they have the final cut and it would be released at some point in 2011.

The film was made from a large 168 page script and the delay had reportedly been due to Lonergan’s inability to complete a film that made him happy.  One benefit to the delay in the film coming to the screen is that Anna’s role as Sookie Stackhouse in True Blood has made her a much more recognizable star.
