Despite great reviews and lots of buzz from the few screenings the movie had Warner Bros still has not released the movie into the theaters and now there is talk that it will go directly to Blu-ray/DVD this October. Based on reviews, Trick ‘R Treat is a well-crafted film with a large following who have been anxiously waiting for its release, preferably on the big screen.

The movie tells the tale of Halloween night when it is said that the dead rise to walk among us and other unspeakable things roam free. The origins of All Hallows Eve was based upon rituals that had to be conducted in order to protect oneself from the evil that lurks during that one particular night of the year.

The movie is set in a small town where an unsuspecting couple learn a terrifying lesson that some traditions such as blowing out a Jack-o-Lantern before midnight can have dangerous consequences. The movie follows four women who cross paths with a costumed stalker at a local festival; a group of pranksters goes too far and discovers the horrifying truth buried in a local legend; and a cantankerous old hermit is visited by a strange trick-or-treater with a few bones to pick.

Treat ‘R Trick looks at the dark side that lurks around us and sometimes within us to provide us with the ultimate fright: the unknown.
