Brentwood Theatre: Mission Accomplished

August 29, 2009 by

The Twits poster by Karen McInnisBrentwood Theatre, where True Blood’s Stephen Moyer learned his theatrical skills, announced that all of their backstage facilities have finally  been completed. The new facilities include proper dressing rooms, a new theatre office, washroom facilities, galley kitchen, multi-use space which can be used as dance studio with full mirrors, rehearsal area, dressing room, and a forty-seat studio theatre, proudly named  “The Audrey Longman Studio”.

It was on September 2005 when Brentwood Theatre started the appeal to raise £350,000 (around $578k) to replace their existing temporary facilities. From then on, it has been reported that over £400,000 (around $660k) has been raised from fun runs, naked calendars, special dinners, and the famous Buy a Brick program – wherein they gave out an all- American section because of the large number of support.

Later this year on December 30, Brentwood Theatre Company will be presenting Roald Dahl’s “The TWITS”. And they are fortunate to have its poster designed by none other than Karen McInnis, an Emmy Award winning artist and animator. Apparently, McInnis being a fan of Stephen Moyer and True Blood, immediately offered her services after hearing about the theatre.

Mark Reed, from the community theatre stated:

“One of the American fans of our patron, Stephen Moyer, offered her services as a professional designer and created this wonderful unique artwork for us.”

On the other hand,  McInnis said:

“When the guys started asking people what sort of image should be used to promote this show, I sketched out some ideas…They fell in love with my designs and, several adjustments later, we came up with this picture…I am so pleased to be supporting the theatre in this way and wish them the best of luck.”
