PHOTOS: Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer Make Dreams Come True

March 15, 2010

On Sunday, March 14, True Blood stars Stephen Moyer and fiancée Anna Paquin were found supporting a great cause while visiting the Santa Monica Pier. The cause? The Make-a-Wish Foundation, of course. Sunday was the Make-a-Wish Foundation’s annual Fun Day, which gives children with life-threatening medical conditions the chance to relax and just have fun with their families outdoors on the beautiful Venice Beach.

Stephen and Anna seemed to be having a great time supporting the Make-a-Wish Foundation, as the photos below clearly show, and it’s wonderful to see such great actors supporting such a wonderful cause!

Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, and Alexander Skarsgård in the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival

March 12, 2010

The Tribeca Film Festival, one of the most prominent film festivals in the world, will be showcasing two films starring some of our favorite True Blood cast members during the festival’s run from April 21 – May 2, 2010. Alexander Skarsgård, Anna Paquin, and Stephen Moyer will all be displaying their talents in two different feature-length narratives.

Alexander Skarsgård, and his father, Stellan Skarsgård, appear alongside Vincent Gallo, Juliette Lewis, and Udo Kier in Metropia. Metropia is a full-length animated film in the festival’s Feature Narrative category. Directed by Tarik Saleh, Metropia is set in the year 2024 where all of Europe is connected by an intricate web of underground railways, populated by the hardworking and downtrodden. The story unfolds when one of the worker bees begins to hear voices which unravels into a vast conspiracy with the aide of a femme fatale shampoo model. The visually exciting film is sure to be a hit with such an interesting story and stellar cast!

More True Blood stars will be included in this year’s festival, with Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer starring alongside one another in Open House. Written and directed by Anna’s brother, Andrew Paquin, the story depicts the torrid relationship between David (played by Brian Geraghty) and his “sexually predatory partner” Lila. The film illuminates David’s existence when a would-be victim becomes his chance at salvation. Open House will be included in Tribeca’s World Narrative Competition, which is an international film collection showcasing first- and second-time directors from eight different countries. For a more detailed description of Open House, visit Taylor Usry’s article “Open House Movie with Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer” on TrueBloodNet.Com.

The Tribeca Film Festival is known for showcasing an international array of film, animation, documentary, and art and this year’s festival is already proving to be exciting for fans over a spectrum of mediums. Good luck to Metropia and Open House!

Stephen Moyer Missing Screen Time with Anna Paquin

March 3, 2010

It looks like the scorching on-screen chemistry between Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer will be put on ice during Season 3.

The actors, who play Bill Compton and Sookie Stackhouse, have been filming apart this season, much to Stephen’s chagrin. He admitted in a People Magazine interview that he misses working with his off-screen fiancée.

“We haven’t been working together that much this year and I kind of miss that. We met during the show, we met on camera, we met doing something that we love and that’s what we do.”

Now that the couple’s real-life relationship is no longer a secret, Stephen was able to open up about the hazards of dating a co-worker, especially on a show with staying power.

“… certainly to begin with when we got together, we were really concerned because it’s ridiculous to get into a relationship when there’s a possible seven years of working together. But it’s been nothing but lovely so I hope it carries on.”

He said he also misses working with the rest of the crew, who saw the sparks flying between him and Anna first hand.  The crew has  “seen every move I’ve ever made on her,” he said.

Hopefully season 3 will bring us some screen time with Bill and Sookie together but at least Stephen and Anna can see each other off-screen.

As for Stephen’s recent title from Cosmo as being a Fun Fearless Male, Stephen stated that Anna wasn’t very surprised by his new title, “She knows a little bit about my past, so she wasn’t that surprised.”

PHOTOS: Anna Paquin Presenting at the Costume Designers Guild Awards

February 26, 2010

True Blood’s Anna Paquin speaks onstage at the 12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards with Presenting Sponsor Swarovski held at The Beverly Hilton hotel on February 25, 2010 in Beverly Hills, California.  True Blood’s Audrey Fisher was nominated in the category for Outstanding Period/Fantasy Television Series. True Blood was up against “Mad Men”, costume designer – Janie Bryant and “The Tudors”, costume designer – Joan Bergin. Unfortunately True Blood lost out to Mad Men (again). However, in our eyes they are winners and as we can see we have one of the best looking cast members on television.

Enjoy the photos of Anna backstage and presenting!
