Video: Stephen Moyer on Regis & Kelly

September 26, 2011

Our Favorite 175-year-old Vampire:

Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) HBO promo S4Stephen Moyer recently made a guest appearance on Regis & Kelly.  During his visit to the show he made the announcement that he and his wife, Anna Paquin just celebrated their first anniversary together!  Happy Belated Anniversary, Stephen and Anna!  When discussing married life he admitted that he was constantly surprised that their life together was always getting better and better.  How sweet!  They asked him if he considered himself to be a romantic — he said, “I am fairly romantic, I think I am!”, and quickly realized he would need to offer an example of just how romantic he is.  Moyer began to talk about the fact that he and Paquin are huge fans of boxing and that he recently flew to Las Vegas in order to get her a gift.  Want to know what the gift was?  Amir Khan’s boxing wraps from his match!  He also talked a little bit about what their summer consisted of.  After they finished shooting the last episodes of True Blood, he, Paquin, and his kids visited a ranch in Montana.  According to Moyer, they rode horses for hours daily and went tubing, and the overall experience and beauty of the place was breathtaking.  He also talked about his recent venture to Yellowstone Park with his children while his wife had other obligations to attend.  Sounds to me like they had quite an amazing summer!

Truebies, what’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for anyone, or anyone’s ever done for you?  Let us know in the comments below!

Death Becomes True Blood’s Anna Paquin

September 9, 2011

Sink Your Teeth into the Life of the Actress Behind Sookie Stackhouse:

Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) in Stylist magazine UK29-year-old Anna Paquin’s life has been a rollercoaster ride, to say the least. Paquin grew up in New Zealand and moved to L.A. when she was 16 and before that, at age 11, she became the second youngest actress to win an academy award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 1993 film, The Piano.

She can also add Jane Eyre, Amistad, Almost Famous, and X-Men to her resume. In 2008, she began appearing on the new HBO thriller True Blood as Bon Temps’ psychic waitress, Sookie Stackhouse, and got married to her co-star and one-time on-screen love, Stephen Moyer, in August of 2010. After celebrating her first wedding anniversary, True Blood’s renewal for a fifth season, and four films coming out in the future, it seems a lot of things are coming together for Anna Paquin. Paquin adds that she and her husband have a life outside of True Blood so it’s never difficult to be married to Moyer and be romantically involved with him on screen.

She has not been one to shy away from speaking about her and her husband’s relationship:

“Maybe it should be weird, simulating sex with your husband in front of people. But it’s really not. When it’s a love scene with someone you actually love, there’s no feeling like, ‘Can I touch him here? Can I touch him there?’ You know what your boundaries are – or what they aren’t, I suppose.”

On True Blood’s fans, Paquin says:

“It didn’t used to be as crazy as it is now, but I don’t totally remember what it was like before. Being recognized happened much less often when I was younger, but it still happened. I don’t really notice it anymore to be honest. When I am out with friends, they will get kind of protective, and be like, ‘Do you want to move, people are staring?’ I’m like, ‘Oh no, we’re fine.’”

Video: True Blood Stars’ Upcoming Film Projects

September 3, 2011

Anna Paquin, Rutina Wesley and Alexander Skarsgård:

TB Season 4 poster-redJust because True Blood’s Season 4 is coming to an end doesn’t mean you have to wait until next season to see your favorite stars on screen. The actors have been hard at work on non-vampire related film projects that will be coming out later this year.

Anna Paquin (Sookie) will be staring in Margaret, playing a high school student who “may or may not have caused a fatal bus crash.” This movie was filmed five years ago and its release has been delayed, because writer and director Kenneth Lonergan couldn’t pick a final version of the film that he was content with. Is it a good sign that the film has gone unreleased for five years? You’ll have to see it and decide for yourself. The film also stars Matt Damon, Mark Ruffalo and Allison Janney.

Rutina Wesley (Tara) HBO promoRutina Wesley (Tara) has recently won a role in Immaculée Ilibagiza’s memoir Left to Tell, about the genocide in Rwanda. Sounds promising, but Wesley is always playing such serious roles, maybe one day she’ll star in a comedy!

Last but not least, Alexander Skarsgård (Eric) has a few movies coming out in the coming months. The True Blood vampire will be appearing in What Maisie Knew with Julianne Moore. Skarsgård is also in Straw Dogs with James Marsden and ex-girlfriend Kate Bosworth. Finally, the actor will be starring in Battleship, a film based on the classic board game, costarring Rihanna.

With so many films coming out True Blood fans will have plenty to keep them busy until Season 5. What movies will have you heading to the theaters and which will have you staying at home watching reruns of True Blood? Watch the video and let us know in the comment section below.

A Little Birdie Told Me — True Blood PSAs Part 2

August 8, 2011

New PSAs From True Blood For “It Gets Better”:

This second article is courtesy of True Blood’s official YouTube page.  Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin, Nelsan Ellis, and Brit Morgan made “It Gets Better” PSAs for The Trevor Project. In these PSAs they talk about personal experiences with bullying.

Stephen Moyer’s message begins with:

“I’ve got two children who come home from school sometimes as if the world is at an end…”

Nelsan Ellis shares:

“I was talked about growing up because I was the odd kid, I was strange in my family and later in life I learned to embrace who I was and all of my differences because I realized they make me beautiful.”

Brit Morgan talks about being made fun of because of her medical condition:

“I totally know how you feel. I had a particular experience growing up. I had really, really severe scoliosis and I had to wear this back brace, I was really, really crooked, and I walked funny and had a hunch on my back. I remember being in middle school and I remember being in high school, and I remember how bad I used to get picked on.”

Anna Paquin says:

“The thing about bullying is that it makes you feel like you’re alone, it makes you feel like there’s something wrong with you. It makes you feel like you can’t go and talk to someone because they won’t understand… it gets better. It’s just as simple as that.”

Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer Interview at TCA Press Tour

August 7, 2011

Real-Life Husband and Wife:

Bill and Sookie S4 Ep6We’re halfway through the fourth season of True Blood, and things keep getting more and more intense as the episodes progress!  During the HBO segment of the TCA Press TourAnna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) and Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton), who are not only co-stars, but husband and wife in real life, discussed several of the current storylines on True Blood.  Paquin and Moyer each had a lot to share during their interview.  First off, Paquin discussed Sookie’s stubbornness and pointed out that if she wasn’t so stubborn the show wouldn’t be quite as exciting.  (So true!)  The next question went to Moyer in regards to his reaction to finding out that Bill was going to be the new king of Louisiana.  Moyer stated that he knew the idea was being thrown around toward the end of Season 3 and that he felt lucky because of the fact that he’s had the opportunity to play the part of such an interesting storyline.  When Paquin was asked if she felt that it was fair for Sookie to have so many horrible things happen to her, she replied:

“I’m having the best time of my life. Are you kidding me? And, I’m not just a little thing, thank you very much. I can hold my own. I dare Alan Ball to come up with something I’ll say no to.”

Throughout the interview they go on to discuss several other topics such as whether or not Paquin envisions her character ending up with one character or the other, whether good oral hygiene (vampire) or good grooming (werewolf) is more important, and the current tense relationship of Bill and Sookie, to name a few.  They also talked about whether or not they discuss stuff that they would like for their characters to do on the show.  Moyer instantly pointed out that Alan Ball is very open to ideas and that they often pitch ideas as to what they would like to see happen.  Paquin added to Moyer’s reply and said:

“I certainly feel like they write to our strengths, or maybe that’s a giant coincidence. I don’t think I’ve ever really gone in with, ‘I think this should definitely happen.’ Sometimes I pitch things that are a joke. There was a scene in episode 9 with me, Steve and Alex, that I pitched, which I can’t tell you about, but that was sort of a joke, but not really. Sometimes I wonder if I say things that are really outlandish and, because of the nature of our show, maybe they actually might end up in the show.”

I have to say, I’m extremely curious as to what this ‘outlandish’ scene with Sookie, Bill, and Eric could be.  Anyone have any ideas?  I have an idea, but I want to see what everyone else thinks before I put it out there!   Next they talked about some of the great lines that they get the opportunity to say, and each of them pointed out that Kristin Bauer Van Straten (Pam) gets a lot of great lines and that she quotes them so beautifully.  I completely agree with that.  I absolutely love Pam’s character on the show!  Later on in the interview Paquin is asked what she does to stay in shape, and she admits to “working out like a crazy person.”  Moyer’s response:

“It is utterly insane. I have never seen anybody do what she does, and with so much gusto, and happily.”

Toward the end of the interview they were asked what their ideal getaway was when they get time off.

Moyer’s response was:  “A quick 10 minutes in the trailer.”

Paquin’s response:  “We love to go away.”

I like how she didn’t comment on his answer!  The interview, as a whole, was an excellent read.  Click here to read the entire interview.  It’s definitely worth reading.  Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are absolutely hilarious!  Some of their responses really made me laugh out loud!  So what do you guys think about the interview?  What questions would you like to ask Stephen and Anna, given the chance?  Let us know in the comments below!

New Pictures of Your Favorite True Blood Stars

August 4, 2011

Photographed by Entertainment Weekly at Comic-Con 2011:

True Blood cast EW Comic-Con 2011True Blood actors were definitely a hit at the recent 2011 Comic-Con in San Diego. Even Entertainment Weekly had its eyes and ears there to catch all the action and the HOT stars of HBO’s vampire hit show.

The ensemble below consists of: Creator and executive producer Alan Ball, Kristin Bauer van Straten (Pam), Alexander Skarsgård (Eric), Kevin Alejandro (Jesus), and Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette).

Alan Ball ensemble EW Comic-Con 2011

The first solo picture that was shown in a recent online article is none other than Anna Paquin, who plays a bubbly girl-next-door waitress, with a knack for getting the attention of every supernatural in Louisiana, Sookie Stackhouse – which I might add is quite a few!

Anna Paquin EW Comic-Con 2011

Next is Paquin’s super sexy husband, Stephen Moyer. He plays the sensitive vampire, Bill Compton, who since the very first episode has been a very big part of Sookie’s life. This picture of him looks wonderful. His dark hair has red undertones which really brings out his beautiful eyes. I can see why Paquin wants to wake up to his face every morning.

Stephen Moyer EW Comic-Con 2011

Rutina Wesley has always looked great throughout the last four seasons, but I feel like something about her this season has made her beauty completely stand out.  Maybe it has something to do with her character Tara Thornton “dipping into the lady pond.” Tara has always been Sookie’s best friend and even though there have been some blow ups, I still believe these two will come out on top.

Rutina Wesley EW Comic-Con 2011

Deborah Ann Woll has quickly become True Blood’s hottest vampire. She came on the scene during season 2, and has been turning heads ever since. While she plays a young vampire created by her maker Bill Compton, her ice blue eyes tell you she is ready to take charge. Her character Jessica has become a recent love interest of Hoyt, but it seems Hoyt may  have some competition from someone who is very close to him.

Deborah Ann Woll EW Comic-Con 2011

Ryan Kwanten is definitely the little brother that all of us wish our best friend had. This Aussie has stolen our hearts since his first scene as Jason Stackhouse. In this picture, you can see that one of his favorite pastimes is hitting the gym!

Ryan Kwanten EW Comic-Con 2011

Last but certainly not least, is the man I wouldn’t mind waking up next to! Alexander Skarsgård plays the Viking vampire Eric Northman. He has not so patiently been biding his time for the attention of Sookie Stackhouse. It looks like he’s gotten what he’s been wishing for, just remember that old saying: “be careful what you wish for”.

HBO’s True Blood Comic-Con 2011 Panel: Spoilers and More!

July 31, 2011

The Cast and Alan Ball Answer Moderator and Audience Questions:

Comic-Con 2011 logoThe True Blood cast came out on stage at Comic-Con to rousing applause and it’s clear from these videos, there were many die-hard fans in the room. Many spoilers were announced and teasers were uncovered. The panel included: Anna Paquin (Sookie), Stephen Moyer (Bill), Ryan Kwanten (Jason), Rutina Wesley (Tara), Alexander Skarsgård (Eric), Kevin Alejandro (Jesus), Kristin Bauer (Pam), Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette), Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica), and Alan Ball.

A few juicy bits gleamed from these videos:

  • Rutina Wesley “secretly loves the UFC”.
  • When an audience member asked if Eric will remember his time with Sookie, Alan replied: “I feel like that’s too much to give away…no, yes, maybe” Of course, the one question we all wanted answered!
  • When asked if there was any hope for Bill and Sookie the audience started to cheer, but it quickly turned to boos.
  • Anna takes you through the “sausage party” that consisted of her, Joe and Alexander filming the scene at the lake – minus the clothes for the men.
  • The panel is asked what their favorite parts of the season have been so far – some answers might surprise you!
  • The Comic-Con panel contains actors from many nations and it’s apparent when the audience starts asking questions that they are just as multinational.
  • My favorite question of the night was to Alexander Skarsgård: “What in his (Eric’s) history created such a straight up badass?”
  • The most interesting bit of news came from an audience member who asked if the show keeps up the pace it has with the books (a book a season). How long will this show stay on the air? Alan’s response: “As we get further down the road less and less, this season is based on the book…I think the show has a tremendous amount of life. I hope to get to the point where it becomes a problem for us in the writers room why the vampires are aging.”
  • Noticable absences were Sam Trammell home expecting his baby twins, and Joe Manganiello who is working on a film project.

There is so much more to see in these videos. Check them out and tell us what questions you would have asked, or what answer you would have liked to hear!

Joe Manganiello, True Blood’s Hottest Werewolf Spills: Alcide-Sookie Hook-up and More!

July 29, 2011

Exciting Things to Come?

True Blood Season 4 Joe Manganiello as AlcideJoe Manganiello (Alcide) was recently interviewed by New York magazine. He had a lot to say about his workout regime, his True Blood role, high school and of course more True Blood! Just because he is finished filming this season of True Blood does not mean that he can relax. He was recently cast in What to Expect When You’re Expecting, alongside Jenifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz.

Workouts are a necessity when you spend most of your screen time with your shirt off. Manganiello’s trainer, Ron Mathews also works with Hugh Jackman. But Manganiello doesn’t starve himself stating:

“I’m allowed to eat anything I want, ’cause I’m a man. I choose not to, because I’m disciplined about my job.”

Captain of his high school basketball, football and volleyball teams, Manganiello has always been ruggedly manly. He talks about the more artistic side that he says was “pushed aside” growing up in western Pennsylvania. You would think this future werewolf stud would have had girls lining up around the block for him, but he didn’t even go to his prom! Instead he went to see a re-release of Blade-Runner. He relates this back to Alcide saying:

“I guess I identify with Alcide that way. I didn’t really see eye-to-eye with the jocks… I was somewhere in the middle.”

Season of the witches has been the theme of Season 4 and the werewolves are not immune to their influence. Manganiello said that their “actions trickle down”. He also stated that shape shifters and werewolves are going to “butt heads big time”. Perhaps a Sam/Alcide showdown is in the future?

We’ve all wanted to see more of Alcide and everyone’s been wondering if he and Sookie will ever hook up. Manganiello’s response:

“I really do believe – and some of the producers and writers agree with me – if Sookie didn’t disappear, Alcide would’ve built that house for her. As you can see in episode three, Alcide is obviously worried. The way the door was answered, he wanted to kiss her! Being a werewolf, he’s had to stomp on a lot of his impulses. All I can say is when anybody continually stomps on impulses, there’s going to be a reaction. What’s amazing this season is that you see those emotions and physical reactions.”

A werewolf bottling up his emotions sounds like a ticking time bomb! Can’t wait to see how this plays out.

Manganiello has said that he gets naked a lot this season, but five episodes in we’ve hardly seen any nakedness. His response:

“Everyone has to take their turn, and it’s just my turn. Yes, there is some nudity, and you’re gonna see some werewolf sex here.”

Exactly who will be having that werewolf sex? We aren’t sure, but we will be tuned in to find out.

Do you think there is any hope for Alcide and Sookie? Share your theories and ideas with us in the comment section.
