True Blood’s Joe Manganiello Clears Up Stalker Reports

September 7, 2010

As actors get recognized more and more, they get perks as True Blood’s very own Joe Manganiello (who plays werewolf Alcide Herveaux) has experienced. This season has given him the chance to work with real life wolves, has allowed him to meet his acting heroes, and has also been invited to the most exclusive parties.

The biggest perk Joe has received recently has been getting tickets to see the Jets play in Pittsburgh this coming December in order to cheer for the Steelers, his hometown team. As a former football and basketball star himself, to get a private tour of Heinz Field as well as seeing a game means that as an actor he’s made it.

Though Joe has been given some exciting moments since being part of the Season 3 cast of the HBO series, he’s also experienced some of the drawbacks of being a huge success. Paparazzi have become a daily routine in his life, but he has cleared up reports made earlier in the week about a stalker. He states,

“I want to make it clear — all I said was I had my car checked for tracking devices…”I didn’t say that I had one and I didn’t say that there was a stalker,” he continued. “Paparazzi kept popping up everywhere I was going for a while and it was starting to make me wonder how the hell these guys do what they do. I was at my car dealership and [they] said, ‘Hey, we can have it checked for tracking devices.’ I said, ‘Yeah, sure, go ahead.’ So that got blown up. It’s funny how sometimes you say, ‘I had my car checked for tracking devices,’ and all of a sudden I have a stalker and the police are involved… That’s not what I said.”

Now that things have been cleared up, Joe has planned a late summer vacation to Europe. He leaves with wonderful memories of his first Emmys experience. He notes,

“Patrick Stewart came and spoke to my freshman class at Carnegie Melon and so I saw him at this party and went up and started talking to him about it and he started talking to me about how he had worked with lions…He did this project where he had to work with a lion. Here he’s talking about working with a lion, I’m talking about working with wolves and we’re kind of exchanging war stories talking about working with wild animals. That was really fun. Another cool one — I bumped into Tracy Morgan… I was telling Tracy how much I loved him on ‘SNL’ and he’s telling me how much he loves ‘True Blood.’ You know, it’s pretty cool.”

Joe seems to be living the good life: no stalker, going to Europe and meeting Patrick Stewart and Tracy Morgan. The life of an actor…where do we sign up?

VIDEO: True Blood’s Joe Manganeillo and the Sock of Destiny

September 6, 2010

True Blood’s Joe Manganiello tells ExtraTV that before he became the sexy werewolf, Alcide Herveaux on True Blood he had worked in construction, very much like his character, and the various ways he gets ready for his nude scenes on the show.

“I was shoveling sand and gravel off the back of a truck trying to make ends meet for a little while in there,” he said of his pre-stardom days. “Hauling cement bags and jackhammers… it got rough.”

Now instead of sweating in dirty jobs he has True Blood fans feeling the heat and sweating as they watch Joe him strip down sometimes for his performance on the show.

“We all have to appear naked on the show,” said Manganiello. “You get three choices [on how to cover up], one’s a sock, a thong with a plastic back — and I was warned that when you run really fast the plastic will snap… The third [choice] is the man panty or the manty — which is so tight and constricting.” Joe told Lauren he decided to go with the sock.”

True Blood Season 4 Spoiler News: Who is Coming Back

September 2, 2010

Joe Manganiello True Blood Alcide HerveauxThe season finale is set to air on Sunday, September 12, 2010 on HBO and already there is talk about who we will see coming back for Season 4 of True Blood. E!Online.com gives us a rundown on which new characters will be returning for season four.

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT!

First there is Joe Manganiello, which we already knew since it was announced awhile back that he will be a regular for season four.  However, the following may surprise some fans and wonder what is going to happen next season.

Denis O’Hare, Marshall Allman, Kevin Alejandro and Lauren Bowles will all be returning for season four of True Blood!

According to E!Online.com:

“Denis is set to return to the HBO hit next year, according to sources, but don’t expect to see Russell too early in the year. We have it on good authority (Alan Ball’s) that initially witches will reign supreme, but I’m told the plan is for Russell to reappear later in the season.”

Nelsan Ellis confirms that Jesus (Kevin Alejandro) will be back and will be his partner in crime.  As he states: “We’re partners in crime now, my boy toy, so he will be back.” Adds Kevin with a knowing grin: “I’m hearing rumors about that, too. I’ve never been a part of anything this big before.”

As for Marshall Allman he wasn’t as forthright when asked if he will be coming back for season four only to say that yes he is as so will be Lauren Bowles as wiccan Holly Cleary.

Now with this information it is definitely going to be interesting to see what happens in the season finale and with the fate of Russell Edgington.

True Blood Season 4 Spoiler News and Season Finale

September 1, 2010

Sam Trammell True Blood Sam Merlotte in troubleAs fans anxiously wait for the season finale of True Blood set it air on Sunday, September 12, 2010 on HBO, spoiler news is being filtered out not only about the season finale but what we can expect to see for Season 4. Here are some spoiler scoop from various sources as they try to answer some fan questions. First from E!Online:

Benedict in New Orleans: True Blood please! Finale scoop!
I’m starting to get very frightened for our dear Sook (Anna Paquin). Something tells me Denis O’Hare’s promise that he’ll be “weeping tears of joy” may have to do with him walking in sunlight, and I’m also hearing Russell probably won’t be offed. Danger, danger, danger.

Jalya in Kahala, Hawaii: Aw! I cannot believe the way Sam’s acting on True Blood. Tell me it isn’t permanent, please!
Sorry kiddies, but Sam Trammell tells me Sam’s not-so-pleasant adventures are just beginning and will extend far into True Blood’s fourth season. “I know one thing that’s going to happen with Sam [next year], which is taking it to a new level. It’s very cool.” The gang doesn’t even start shooting until November, so get ready for a long and painful off season. Sigh!

TV Guide Magazine gives us so more information regarding what we are going to see for Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis), Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello), Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten), Holly Cleary (Lauren Bowles), and Jesus (Kevin Alejandro) in the season finale and a glimpse into season 4.

“Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette) told TV Guide Magazine, saying we’ll find out why he and Jesus are so “spiritually connected.” Joe Manganiello promised, “Alcide will be back before the season’s up to take care of some unfinished business,” and Kristin Bauer said that vampire Pam will “do anything to save her maker [Eric].”

Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte) says “somebody in Sam’s camp is in big trouble,” but wouldn’t specify if that someone is little brother Tommy. “This season leaves everyone with a bunch of cliffhangers, especially with my storyline. There’s something very serious, very hardcore that happens.”

Joe states that “[Creator] Alan [Ball] and the writers are busy writing Season 4 right now, so I’m dying to find out what happens,” he said. And Lauren Bowles (wiccan Holly) promised, “You will be seeing me a lot next season. As Alan has announced, next year is the year of the witch.”

“What they’ve written, there’s a lot of sparks going on,” says Kevin Alejandro. “Whatever happens next season should be pretty explosive.”

Joe Manganiello Discovers the Scary Side of Fame

September 1, 2010

Joe Manganiello, True Blood, Alcide HerveauxTrue Blood has propelled Joe Manganiello to high levels of fame very quickly since he was first introduced to fans as sexy werewolf Alcide Herveaux early on in Season 3. However, that fame has come with a few downsides.

Joe quickly learned that some fans are even more intrusive than the paparazzi can be. He related a quick story to US Magazine about one incident with an obsessive fan:

“I’ve had to have my car checked for a tracking device – for a stalker. It’s been a little interesting. You have to take the good with the bad.”

Though the stalking is scary, Joe focuses on the good and is thrilled to have so many True Blood fans support and love Alcide Herveaux. He’s more cautious when he’s out and about, but in this case, that’s a really good thing. Be safe, Joe!

VIDEO: True Blood’s Joe Manganiello Talk about Werewolves and his Diet

September 1, 2010

True Blood’s Joe Manganiello spoke with Us Magazine and discusses his favorite storyline on the show, werewolves and his diet.

As you can guess, Joe’s favorite storyline revolves around his character, werewolf Alcide Herveaux and how this “lonely construction worker fights for his entire race against these vampires.”

He also explains how he is so strict about his diet so he can met the description of his character as set out in the books and to develop muscles as “big as boulder.”  A very enjoyable interview with the lovable Joe Manganiello.
