Lara Pulver Discusses Da Vinci’s Demons:
It will be slim pickings for fans of HBO’s True Blood at this year’s New York Comic Con. The only True Blood star appearing will be Lara Pulver (who starred as the fairy Claudine Crane in Seasons 3-5 of the vampire series). She will be appearing on the panel for Da Vinci’s Demons, a TV series which follows the “untold” story of Leonardo Da Vinci. In this show, Lara stars as Clarice Orsini, the wife of Lorenzo de’ Medici, who is both seductive and politically minded. You can view the full details on this appearance below:
STARZ will present a first look at David S. Goyer’s highly anticipated adventure drama, “Da Vinci’s Demons,” at a panel on Saturday, October 13th from 1:45pm to 2:45pm in RM 1A21 as part of New YorkComic Con. Da Vinci’s DemonsGoyer will be joined by series star Tom Riley (“Monroe,” I Want Candy), who plays Leonardo Da Vinci, and costars Laura Haddock (The Inbetweeners Movie, “Honest,” Captain America: The First Avenger) and Lara Pulver (“True Blood,” “Sherlock,” “Robin Hood”). Following the panel Goyer and cast will sign autographs.
“Da Vinci’s Demons” is a historical fantasy, following the ‘untold’ story of the world’s greatest genius during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence. Brilliant and passionate, the twenty-five year old Leonardo Da Vinci is an artist, inventor, swordsman, lover, dreamer and idealist. As a free thinker, with intellect and talents that are almost superhuman, he struggles to live within the confines of his own reality and time. He begins to not only see the future, but invent it.
“Da Vinci’s Demons” is the first project to enter production under the multi-year agreement between Starz and BBC Worldwide Productions. Goyer, co-writer of blockbuster and critically-acclaimed films Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, and writer of the upcoming Man of Steel, is showrunner. Julie Gardner is Executive Producer, along with BBC Worldwide Productions’ Head Jane Tranter. Production began this summer and Starz will premiere an eight-episode first season in the U.S. in 2013.
Also, if you are a Deborah Ann Woll fan (who starred as baby vampire Jessica Hamby), you might want to check out the Marvel panel for all the latest news on Deborah’s new TV series, Daredevil.

Courtney Ford Joins Season 4 of Revenge as FBI Agent Kate Taylor:
Truebies will remember Courtney Ford as Portia Bellefleur the great-great-great-great-granddaughter of Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) who accidentally slept with him before they knew of the family connection. Recently TVLine announced that Courtney would take on the role of FBI agent, Kate Taylor, in Season 4 of ABC’s Revenge. According to an earlier role call, her is the description of Kate:
Though young, she’s a pro and has been given this high profile assignment because she can handle it, not to make her bones. While professionally hardcore, personally she will quickly fall into intrigue — and maybe into bed with one of her colleagues.
In Season 4, Kate has been assigned to investigate the murder of Conrad Grayson (played by Henry Czerny). It will be interesting to see how Courtney handles this role – and who she just may, or may not, fall into bed with.

From Bon Temps to a Decimated Earth:
In Season 7 of HBO’s True Blood we saw Adina Porter (who played Lettie May Thornton) lose her daughter, Tara (Rutina Wesley) to a vampire attack. While this was a horrific occurrence, it seems her next TV role will include a whole lot more devastation ahead. TV Line recently announced that Adina would be joining the Season 2 cast for CW’s The 100. This series tells the story of 100 people sent back to earth 97 years after a nuclear war. The plan is that these people will hopefully repopulate the earth. However, when the 100 chosen are juvenile delinquents, it turns out to be not the most pleasant of situations for many of these ‘grounders’.
According to TV Line, Adina will be playing a:
…“regal and experienced” Grounder warrior named Indra.
It will be very interesting to see if Adina’s character, Indra, turns out to be a friend or foe?

The True Blood Star Will Also Be Receiving a Friends of CLARE Tribute Award:
True Blood’s Joe Manganiello (who played werewolf Alcide Herveaux in the HBO vampire series) is being honored with the Friends of CLARE Tribute Award this November at the CLARE Foundation Tribute Dinner. This event honors attendees who have supported the CLARE Foundation, a charitable organization whose mission is “to provide effective and compassionate treatment, recovery and prevention services for alcoholism and substance abuse to individuals, families, and the community.”
The CLARE Foundation started in the late 1960’s when “a group of sober alcoholics began bringing food, blankets, and the message of recovery to homeless alcoholics on the beaches of Santa Monica and Venice. Since then, CLARE has evolved into a multi-site organization with 11 highly effective and cost-efficient residential, outpatient, and prevention programs that serve thousands of adults and young people each year.”
The tribute dinner event will be held on Thursday November 14th 2014. In previous years Stephen Moyer (who played vampire Bill Compton in True Blood) has been honored at this event and now serves as a member on the board of the CLARE Foundation.

The Canadian Fashion Magazine Available from October 2014:
Natalie Hall may have only joined the cast of HBO’s True Blood for it’s final season, yet she went out with a bang, starring as resident villain Sarah Newlin’s (Anna Camp) newly turned vampire sister, Amber. Now, however, she is gracing the cover of the Canadian fashion magazine, Fave.
The actress (who is also Canadian) is nearly unrecognizable on the cover from the Hep-V infected vampire we saw in Season 7 recently. Besides appearing in the Marilyn Monroe-like photo shoot, she is also interviewed by the magazine. The cover was shot by New York fashion photographer Damien Kim with James R. Sanders styling and directing the shoot. James also interviewed Natalie Hall for the Fave magazine cover article. The hair stylist for this shoot is Kiyo Igarashi with Aya Kudo as the make up artist and Marina Iwakoshi as the manicurist.
Natalie Hall is not only known for her role of Amber in HBO’s True Blood but as Kate Randall in Pretty Little Liars and Colby Chandler in All My Children.

Fox Will Re-Release This Film Next Summer With the ‘Rogue Cut':
Fans of Anna Paquin (who also starred as Sookie Stackhouse in HBO’s True Blood) were saddened when her character, Rogue, was basically removed (except for a small cameo role) from the movie X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, it seems there is some exciting news in relation to the film’s re-release next summer – Rogue will get more of her story told this time round with the ‘Rogue Cut’ version of the movie to hit the home video platform.
There is no definitive date yet, with Fox announcing only that the director’s cut of the movie will hit the shelves in the first half of 2015. X-Men writer, Simon Kinberg had this to say about the extra ten minutes of footage that will be added back into the movie:
It’s a big chunk, a substantial part of the movie [Anna Paquin’s Rogue storyline]. We want to give [fans] the fullest picture of the film — behind the camera, and in front of it … Every movie has scenes that are cut out, but not every movie has scenes cut out with such a beloved character.
The extra footage relates mostly to Rogue but will also include scenes with other characters. The decision to cut Rogue’s scenes from the original version of the movie came down to the need to streamline the many plots and subplots already in the movie. As a result, Kinberg found that Rogue’s storyline did not quite fit originally with that cut of the movie.
Previously the character of Rogue appeared in X-Men, X-Men 2 and X-Men: The Last Stand. The film also co-stars Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore and Peter Dinklage.
X-Men fans will be able to look forward to the next installment of the franchise with Simon Kinberg currently writing the script for X-Men: Apocalypse.

Mariana Klaveno Stars as Detective Janice Lawrence in New CBS Police Show:
For fans of HBO’s True Blood, the name Mariana Klaveno is synonymous with the vampire Lorena and her obsession with her progeny Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). Now that Mariana has joined the cast of CBS’s new police show, Stalker, it appears she is now on the other side of the stalking game.
She stars as Detective Janice Lawrence alongside Dylan McDermott (who plays not only a stalker but a detective who is hunting down stalkers), Maggie Q and Gabriel Bateman. Stalkers follows two detectives from the LAPD’s Threat Assessment Unit as they investigate stalkers in Los Angeles. It is produced by Kevin Williamson (from the Scream franchise). The TV series premiered on the 1st of October 2014 to mixed reviews. For the squeamish in particular, it seems you may want to skip the opening scene to the pilot episode of this new drama. However, considering this new series is paired up with Criminal Minds, I am guessing that the audience will be of a type that is used to this kind of horror.

Stefano Formaggio Premiers at the Catalina Film Festival:
Astute truebies will recognize Darren Darnborough from Season 4 of HBO’s True Blood. He played a vampire called Callum in Episode 2 (entitled You Smell Like Dinner). While he has gone on to star in many other TV shows and movies since then, the movie Stefano Formaggio will be his directorial debut. IMDb lists the synopsis for this movie as:
Stefano, a handsome Italian, is the producer and merchant of the finest cheese in the village. The ladies adore him, the men want to be him – and everyone loves his perfect Formaggio. The township is beautified by its very essence. Jasmine, an equally stunning but shy florist, who has long admired from afar, finally gets the date of her dreams, and the birth of a relationship that we hope, for her sake, doesn’t happen.
As well as premiering at the Catalina Film Festival (September 24th-28th 2014), it will also be shown at Carmel International Film Festival (October 15-19th 2014) – the very place in which Stefano Formaggio was shot. The film stars Alice Greczyn, Pasquale Cassalia, Mandy Amano, Amelia Jackson-Gray and Mary Tran. Darren Darnborough has written as well as directed this movie and the early opinion from critics appears to be positive.
