From Bon Temps to a Decimated Earth:
In Season 7 of HBO’s True Blood we saw Adina Porter (who played Lettie May Thornton) lose her daughter, Tara (Rutina Wesley) to a vampire attack. While this was a horrific occurrence, it seems her next TV role will include a whole lot more devastation ahead. TV Line recently announced that Adina would be joining the Season 2 cast for CW’s The 100. This series tells the story of 100 people sent back to earth 97 years after a nuclear war. The plan is that these people will hopefully repopulate the earth. However, when the 100 chosen are juvenile delinquents, it turns out to be not the most pleasant of situations for many of these ‘grounders’.
According to TV Line, Adina will be playing a:
…“regal and experienced” Grounder warrior named Indra.
It will be very interesting to see if Adina’s character, Indra, turns out to be a friend or foe?

How Will it End For Lettie Mae Thornton and Her Daughter:
In True Blood Season 6, many fans became concerned when Tara’s (Rutina Wesley) mother, Lettie Mae Thornton gave up her blood to nourish the daughter she had always neglected. They thought it might be a trap, that Lettie Mae was a carrier of Hepatitis V, a disease that causes no ill effect to humans, but is devastating to vampires. HBO quickly assured their audience that Lettie Mae was actually just trying to make up for lost time towards a daughter she had rejected both when she was growing up, and then again when she was turned into a vampire.
Well, now it seems that this storyline will be a juicy one in Season 7, since it has been confirmed that Adina Porter (the actor who plays Lettie Mae) has been bumped up to series regular on True Blood.
Porter now joins Bailey Noble (Adilyn Bellefleur), Amelia Rose Blaire (Willa Burrell), Luke Grimes (James) and Karolina Wydra (Violet) as newly announced series regulars.
So, how do you think the relationship between the religiously devout Lettie Mae and the baby vamp Tara will pan out in Season 7? Let us know in the comments below!

True Blood Season 7 Spoilets Alert! Look Away Now if You Don’t Want to Know:
In HBO’s True Blood Season 6 finale, we find Tara’s (Rutina Wesley) mom apologising to her daughter for the years of abuse she copped while growing up. This has immediately sent up red flags to the trubie fan base.
Could Lettie Mae (Adina Porter) actually be trying to poison her?
Fans are wondering this after watching the church scene (from True Blood Episode 10, entitled Radioactive) where Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) tries to convince the members of Bon Temps to hook up with a healthy vampire for protection against the Hep V infected mobs that are roaming the area. In this scene, one man jumps up and announces he’d like to be infected with Hep V (which doesn’t kill humans) so he can kill vampires.
Could this be the path Lettie Mae is taking? Could she be killing her daughter rather than nourishing her?
(And if you don’t like spoilers, then don’t read any further.)
Well, True Blood’s showrunner, Brian Buckner, had this to say about that idea:
One thing that I noticed – and I probably shouldn’t read as much as I’ve been reading, but I have been, in terms of audience reaction – is the idea that characters can’t change. I will put to bed one thing for you: this idea that Lettie Mae is trying to poison Tara? It’s absurd. That is genuine. And I realize that on our show, because it’s been so incredibly plot-driven for the past several years, you insert a Big Bad and then have the characters react in the way we expect them to react. That’s sort of what’s been going on. When we let characters change, when we let the show be character-driven, I think people don’t know what to do with that. So with Lettie Mae and Tara, not to say that everything is going to go great, but the conflict is not going to be she’s poisoning Tara.
So there you have it, maybe Tara’s mom finally has changed? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
