Luke Grimes Plays Christian Grey’s Brother, Elliot Grey:
Here’s the new trailer for the much anticipated BDSM movie, Fifty Shades of Grey. The story is based on the novel of the same name by author E.L. James, who originally wrote it as fan fiction based on the Twilight series of vampire novels by Stephenie Meyers.
The extended sneak peek into this movie explores the relationship between control freak, Christian Grey (portrayed by actor Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (played by Dakota Johnson). Luke Grimes (who truebies will remember played the vampire James for one season of HBO’s True Blood) plays the role of Christian’s brother, Elliot Grey. While the following movie trailer revolves mostly around the dynamics of Anastasia’s and Christian’s relationship, if you persevere, you will be granted a short snippet of Luke Grimes!

Indie Movie Freeheld Will Grapple Gay Marriage:
Fans of HBO’s True Blood will remember Luke Grimes as vampire James in Season 6. In Season 7, however, the role was taken over by Nathan Parsons. Since then, it has been announced that Luke will take on a gritty new role in the Indie movie, Freeheld. According to Variety, the synopsis is as follows:
[The] story follows a New Jersey car mechanic and her police detective girlfriend Laurel Hester who both battle to secure Hester’s pension benefits after she’s diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Grimes plays a secretly gay cop on the police force who, in solidarity with his colleague, comes out of the closet to support her fight against the local government for domestic partner rights.
Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Ellen Page and Michael Shannon will also star in the movie. The production crew on this movie include Michael Shamberg, Stacy Sher, Ellen Page, Kelly Bush, James D. Stern, Richard Fischoff, Duncan Montgomery, Jack Selby and Cynthia Wade. It will be directed by Pete Sollett with the screenplay being written by Ron Nyswaner.
This movie will follow a stellar line up of movies for Grimes which include the movie adaptation of the phenomenally successful BDSM book, Fifty Shades of Grey. He will also be starring in American Sniper alongside Bradley Cooper this December as well as Shangri-La Suite which is slated for release in 2015. No, It’s Not Alexander Skarsgard But Luke Grimes:
Fans of the novel Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James have heard many rumors flying about who will play the lead character of Christian Grey, the tortured entrepreneur who has a fetish for whips and chains. Even True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard was suggested to fill the part, a rumor that ended up being unfounded when Charlie Hunnam (of Sons of Anarchy fame) was officially signed on. However, his part in this movie was short lived and due to filming conflicts, the role was then handed over to male model and actor, Jamie Dornan.
Now that the main characters have been cast (Dakota Johnson, the daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, winning the lead female role of Anastasia Steele), a frenzy has started over who will play the other characters in the movie. This time we can confirm that a True Blood actor has managed to score a part – and a big one at that! Luke Grimes (who played vampire James in Season 6 of HBO’s True Blood) has won the coveted role of Elliot Grey, the brother of Christian.
Now all we have left to wonder about, casting wise, is who will play Anastasia’s close friend, Kate Kavanagh? Is there any other True Blood stars that could possibly fit the bill? Guess we’ll have to wait and see…
It has been reported that filming for Fifty Shades of Grey will begin on November 5th in Vancouver.
Who was planning to see this movie before Luke Grimes was cast? Who is now only going to see it because Luke is in it? Let us know in the comments below!

Who Has Been Promoted to Series Regulars on True Blood?
It has been confirmed that Alexander Skarsgard (who plays Eric Northman) will be returning in Season 7, although in what sort of a capacity is yet to be seen. Showrunner Brian Buckner first announced he will return, but then backtracked by saying that the way in which he returns could be questionable.
But there are now three more names to add to the line up as series regulars for True Blood Season 7:
- Amelia Rose Blaire. Amelia plays newly turned vampire Willa Burrell, the daughter of the anti-vampire, Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) loving Governor Burrell (Arliss Howard). It will be very interesting to see how the dynamics between Willa, her maker Eric Northman, and her vampire sibling Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) play out over Season 7
- Karolina Wydra. Wydra played the vampire obssessed with Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten), Violet Mazurski. It seems Jason will be sexually frustrated a while longer with Violet being the ‘hard to get’ kind of vampire.
- Luke Grimes. James plays the newest vampire spunk, James. He and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) are currently an item and many fans are excited to be seeing more of James in Season 7
Who do you think will last to see the end of True Blood Season 7? Who’s relationships will last? Let us know in the comments below.
