True Blood Finale: A Look Back on… Then and Now

August 24, 2014

How Much Have Our Favorite True Blood Stars Changed From Season 1 to Season 7?

As we lead up to the final episode ever of HBO’s True Blood, let’s take a moment or two to look back over our fave True Blood characters who have managed to survive from Season 1 through to the Season 7 finale, Episode 10 (entitled Thank You) of the hit vampire show:

Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin)

For a human, there’s surprisingly little change for telepathic fairy Sookie:

Anna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse in HBOs True Blood Season 1 vs Season 7

Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer)

It seems consuming the blood of Lilith and then contracting Hep-V has actually improved Bill:

Alexander Skarsgard (Alexander Skarsgard)

He still smoulders, but we sure are glad Eric Northman ditched the long hair:

Pamela Swynford De Beaufort (Kristin Bauer van Straten)

While Pam has had to deal with many time eras via flashbacks, her everyday look has become more casual in Season 7 as opposed to Season 1:

Lafayette Reynolds (Nelsan Ellis)

While his predilection to head scarves have remained (except for that short time when he rocked a modern Mohawk), Lafayette’s addiction to eyelashes and accessories has grown:

Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell)

Sam is sporting a few more grey hairs and a less structured style than in Season 1:

Arlene Fowler (Carrie Preston)

Gone is the red wig for Arlene. She has also shortened her hair and gone with a darker, less sunset shade of red:

Ginger (Tara Buck)

I thought Ginger had changed more than this over the seven seasons. Besides less eye make up in Season 7, she is still as blonde as ever:

Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer)

It seems that Andy has gotten buff since Season 1:

Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten)

Look how young Jason is in Season 1! Still as chiseled as ever in Season 7 though:

Hoyt Fortenberry (Jim Parrack)

Hoyt is another character who has grown up over the seven seasons, but his darker, broodier Hoyt in Season 7 is certainly more appealing than the puppy that tagged along behind Jason in Season 1:

Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll)

In Season 1, Jessica Hamby was a 17 year old virgin. In Season 7 Jessica is also a 17 year old virgin, it’s just she’s a vampire now. While she has explored her dark side in previous seasons, Season 7 brings Jessica back to a more innocent version of Jess:

Lettie Mae (Adina Porter)

Lettie Mae has always been partial to a good floral frock (even when passed out drunk), but gone are the hats in Season 7:

True Blood Season 7 Finale: Episode 10 Synopsis Revealed!

August 13, 2014

Who Makes it to Episode 10 (entitled Thank You)?

One Last Bite True Blood Season 7 promo posterWith only two more episodes left of HBO’s True Blood, fans are starting to worry at how all the loose ends will be tied up. Who will die? Who will live happily ever after? Who will Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) finally chose?

Well, we have the press release for the True Blood Season 7 finale! Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) makes it to at least the start of the episode, but it seems he is still suffering from his virulent dose of Hep-V – will he take the antidote or meet the true death? Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) makes a choice – hang on a minute didn’t he already do that in Episode 9? How many choices does Sam have to make? Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) also make it to Episode 10 (entitled Thank You) of True Blood. It seems they are not entirely comfortable with their relationship with Mr. Gus (Will Yun Lee) though – could one of these three die? And, finally, we come to an interesting little titbit: Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) gets an unexpected inheritance. This one disturbs me, after all it wasn’t that long ago that Bill was seeking legal advice about his will. Could Andy be the benefactor of Bill’s estate? And, if that is the case, does Bill die?

You can make up your own mind on this synopsis and let us know your thoughts by commenting below!

Episode 10 Synopsis:

Episode #80: “Thank You” (series finale)
Debut: SUNDAY, AUG. 24 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT)

Sookie Stackhouse weighs a future with and without Bill Compton. Eric Northman and Pam struggle with their uncomfortable partnership with Mr. Gus. Sam Merlotte makes a choice, while Andy Bellefleur comes upon an unexpected inheritance.

VIDEO: True Blood Season 7 Episode 2 Promo Clips x 2

June 26, 2014

Episode 2, I Found You, Gets Two More Video Clips to Tease Fans:

Ryan Kwaten stars as Jason Stackhouse in Episode 2 of HBO's True Blood Season 7With only a few short days until Episode 2 (entitled I Found You) of HBO’s True Blood Season 7 airs, we have found a couple of teaser clips for you!

The first one features Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer), Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten), Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) and Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello). This small group has ventured out to the neighboring town of Saint Alice. A town that is new to fans, but now we know why it is important this season – it was the last town attacked before the Hep-V vampires moved on to Bon Temps! Thanks to Jason and his uncanny ability to ingest and then estimate how old pizza is, we now know just how long ago the town of Saint Alice was attacked:

The second clip features Sookie and Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). It seems Sookie is in need of Bill’s protection – or his knowledge of whether she is in trouble or not:

So, what do you think will go down in Episode 2 of True Blood’s Season 7? Let us know in the comments below!

True Blood Season 7: Let the Countdown Begin!

June 16, 2014

HBO Releases True Blood Countdown Video:

Nelsan Ellis looks fabulous as Lafayette Reynolds in HBOs True Blood Season 7

With less than a week to go, Trubies are not sure whether to be excited or sad about the return of HBO’s True Blood. Season 7 will be the very last for our fave vampire series, but, rather than commiserate about it’s demise, let’s celebrate with a countdown video! There isn’t loads of new footage to be found here in the scant 15 seconds below, but it’s nice to see the new mayor of Bon Temps, Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) in the video clip.

Let us know what you think of this video – and are you throwing a True Blood premiere party this year? Comment below!

True Blood Season 7: Trailer #2 – Still No Eric Northman

June 1, 2014

HBO Teaser Video Shows Plenty of Bill Compton, But Eric is Still Elusive:

Alexander Skarsgard stars (hopefully) as Eric Northman in HBO's True blood Season 7Well, HBO released the second official trailer video for True Blood Season 7 – and, yep, there’s still not a single sighting of Eric Northman (played by Alexander Skarsgard). They have upped the level of Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) appearances though and we’re not really sure what that all means yet.

This doesn’t mean the trailer video is boring though – quite the opposite in fact! There is PLENTY of action occurring from the very first second, right up until the close at 55 seconds. Here’s a quick break down for you:

  • Sookie (Anna Paquin) seems to think she is the only person in town who knows so much about vampires and then concludes that a war has erupted.
  • Speaking of wars, it seems there will be a battle between who will win Sookie over in the end.
  • There is a whole bunch of happy shots – and this would indicate that something bad is probably just around the corner…
  • Pam (Kristin Bayer van Straten) appears in brief snippets that give away absolutely nothing.
  • A blonde woman is apparently being taken against her will – is it Ginger (Tara Buck) perhaps?
  • Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) is eager to let people know that he belongs ‘here’ – just where ‘here’ is though could be anyone’s guess.
  • That bit where we saw all happy scenes, yeah, I was right, it all goes down the crapper towards the end of this trailer with people being bitten and the Bellefleur’s looking like a bomb zone.
  • There is a bomb exploding in front of Bill at what could possibly be Fangtasia.
  • Bill tells Sookie that there will be some sort of a decent, and, as a result, ‘they’ will be greatly outnumbered. On what, who or where, we don’t know yet. It does seem that Bill is trying to make up his behavior towards Sookie in Season 6 here though…

You can check out the full trailer below. Let me know if I missed anything important or what your theories are for True Blood Season 7!

Very First Photos of HBO’s True Blood Season 7!

May 9, 2014

Promo Stills from the Final Season of HBO’s True Blood Reveal Little:

True Blood Season 7 Promo Pic 1It’s that exciting time of year when HBO starts releasing all the delicious teasers in relation to the season return of True Blood! This year though it is both exciting and sad as this will be the very last time we get to squeal in excitement at the tasty morsels HBO are throwing our way.

While there are photos of all our faves: Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten), Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley), Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer), Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell), Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) and Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), there is nothing to show for those other faves whose lives hang in the Season 6 finale limbo. Since Brian Buckner confirmed that Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) will be appearing in True Blood Season 7, we have not seen a single glimmer of hope in any of the promotional ephemera released so far. The same thing can be said about Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten).

So, will they live or die in Season 7? And what of the others? What can we glean from the nine released pictures?

Only time will tell! You can view all the images below. Let us know your theories in the comments.

VIDEO: True Blood Season 6 Episode 9 Teaser – ‘Meeting Terry’ #FridayFlashback

August 9, 2013

True Blood Brings Us a Terry Bellefleur Flashback:

Chris Bauer (Andy Bellefleur) and Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) look for Terry Bellefleur (Todd Lowe) in HBO's True Blood Season 6, Episode 9, entitled 'Life Matters'HBO is giving us plenty of promo videos for True Blood Season 6 Episode 9 (entitled Life Matters) this week!  And this one comes in the form of a flashback.

Episode 9 of True Blood will bring the residents of Bon Temps together for the funeral of the much loved Terry Bellefleur (Todd Lowe). It seems that there might be a little reminiscing involved as this video gives us a flashback to an early Terry Bellefleur.

We find Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammel) (from the newly opened Merlotte’s bar) with Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) and a case of Terry’s favorite beer, Raging Bitch. They are out in the middle of nowhere and appear to be trying to lure Terry out of the wilderness. Eventually a camouflaged Terry shows up, looking a lot more damaged than he was before Arlene Fowler (Carrie Preston) picked him up and bought him some measure of happiness.

True Blood Season 6 Episode 8 ‘Dead Meat’ Synopsis Released

July 28, 2013

Meet a New Character and a Dilemma for Sookie:

Robert Kazinsky (Ben Flynn) and Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) star in HBO's True Blood Season 6With the finale for HBO’s True Blood Season 6 approaching faster than a speeding train, fans are starting to wonder how Season 6 will end. With that in mind, we now have the synopsis for Episode 8, entitled Dead Meat, for you:

Sookie (Anna Paquin) faces a major dilemma in deciding whether to broker a deal between Warlow (Rob Kazinsky) and Bill (Stephen Moyer). Over in vamp camp, Jason (Ryan Kwanten) gets to know Violet (Karolina Wydra), while Sarah (Anna Camp) goes to extremes to keep Tru Blood flowing. Alcide (Joe Manganiello) makes a decision that will impact the futures of Nicole (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Sam (Sam Trammell).

Well, well, well, so much to ponder over for the next week or so until this episode screens.

Why is Sookie trying to broker a deal with Warlow and Bill? What has changed in her life for her to consider this? Who is Violet? Will she help or hinder Jason’s attempts at freeing the vampires he now cares about? If Eric knows that Tru Blood is infected with Hepatitis V, then why is it still in production? Why hasn’t Eric notified everyone? And, finally, how will Alcide screw up Sam and Nicole’s lives even further?

I guess we just have to wait to find out – but waiting sure does suck!

What do you think will happen this week in Episode 7, In the Evening, that will then impact what happens in Episode 8, Dead Meat? Let us know in the comments below.

VIDEO: Direct from ComicCon! True Blood Season 6 – In The Weeks Ahead

July 21, 2013

True Blood Season 6 Gears Up Another Notch as it Heads Towards the Finale:

Stephen Moyer stars as Bill/Billith in HBO's True Blood Season 6Well, well, well… what do we have here? It another awesome ‘In the Weeks Ahead’ video, bought to us direct from this weekend’s ComicCon! There is just so much that can be gleaned from this HBO clip. Let me sum it up for you before you watch it in it’s entirety:

  • Sookie (Anna Paquin) concludes the ‘death ain’t the end, but just a pit stop on the highway that keeps on going.’ And then proclaims to (possibly) Ben (Robert Kazinsky) that she would rather ‘walk the world as a corpse than spend another minute with you.’
  • Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) proclaims that she is ‘unstoppable’
  • Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) looks to be in a bad way
  • Billith (Stephen Moyer) and Lilith (Jessica Clark) disagree on something
  • Billith drinks something out of a vial – what is he going to turn into now?!
  • There seems so be a lot of heartache for the vampires at Vamp Camp
  • Alcide (Joe Manganiello) is given an ultimatum by both his own father and Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell)
  • Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) is chained up inside a cage
  • Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) is a sook

And that’s just for starters! Let us know what you think will happen in the second half of True Blood Season 6 by commenting below.
