San Diego Comic-Con Website Crashes After Tickets Go on Sale

Comic-Con 2011

Ticket sales for San Diego Comic-Con 2011 were announced for Monday, November 1st.  Surely, gleeful geeks everywhere rejoiced; however, after only a few hours in, sales were halted due to technical difficulties.

From Comic-Con’s website:

“We are really sorry for the problems with registration today. We do not know what the technical issues are, so we have temporarily closed registration.  We will announce on Monday, November 8th, the new date and time that registration will reopen. This down-time will allow us to determine and address the issues.”

The event will be held at the San Diego Convention Center, running from July 21 – 24, with a preview night on July 20th.  Past guests have included the casts of True Blood, Twilight, and Supernatural, just to name a few.  Certainly, Comic-Con International is not an event to be missed!

Don’t forget to check back here on November 8th, to find out when ticket sales will resume.  Talk about suspense!

Were you one of the lucky ones who got to purchase a ticket?  Or were you one of the extra-prepared ones who bought their pass this summer?

I was one of the geeks who took the day off work and sat at the computer for 2 hrs trying to get on the site before they stopped the sale. Not sure if I’ll be able to get online next Monday 🙁 Hope we get lucky and still get tix!
