Get a Double Dose of Stephen Moyer at Comic-Con

July 14, 2010 by

Stephen Moyer is going to be working hard while at Comic-Con this year. Instead of working on one panel, he’ll be at two panels! Both will be on Friday, July 23, and part of both panels are at the same time! However, both promote different projects of Stephen‘s. The two panels will be on True Blood and Priest, a movie Stephen is in.

If you’re going to be at Comic-Con and are interested in the panel for Priest, this is the latest information about it:

4:00-6:00 Sony Pictures Entertainment: The Other Guys, The Green Hornet, and Priest Two more sneak peeks at upcoming films from Sony Pictures Entertainment!

Priest (3D) — A western-infused post-apocalyptic thriller, set in an alternate world — one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest (Paul Bettany) from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities. When his niece (Lily Collins) is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires, Priest breaks his sacred vows to venture out on an obsessive quest to find her before they turn her into one of them. He is joined on his crusade by his niece’s boyfriend (Cam Gigandet), a trigger-fingered young wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q) who possesses otherworldly fighting skills. Stars Paul Bettany,Karl Urban, Maggie Q, Cam Gigandet, Stephen Moyer, and director Scott Stewart will be onstage to unveil the first 3D look at Priest.

Unfortunately, so far no room information is available for the Priest panel. However, after Stephen‘s part on that panel, he’s going to have to rush over to the True Blood panel.

5:15-6:15 True Blood Panel and Q&A session— Mixing romance, suspense, mystery, and humor, True Blood kicked off its 12-episode third season June 13 on HBO. The series, which has earned two Golden Globe nominations for Best Television Series-Drama, follows the romance between waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin, Golden Globe winner for True Blood season one; Oscar-winner for The Piano), who can hear people’s thoughts, and her soulmate, 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). Alan Ball (creator of the Emmy-winning HBO series Six Feet Under) created and serves as executive producer of the series, which is based on the best-selling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris. The series also features Nelsan Ellis as Lafayette Reynolds, Sam Trammell as Sam Merlotte, Rutina Wesley as Tara Thornton, Deborah Ann Woll as Jessica Hamby, Kristin Bauer van Straten as Pam, Denis O’Hare as Russell Edgington, the Vampire King of Mississippi, and Joe Manganiello as Alcide Herveaux. (Note: names in bold will be appearing on the panel.) Moderated by Tim Stack of Entertainment Weekly. Ballroom 20

So is Alexander Skarsgard going to be on the panel?

    • Hi Stephanie,

No Alexander will not be at the True Blood panel this year.

    • So far as we know, Alex will not be on the panel or at Comic-Con at all. He’s currently working on other projects.

So hard to be in two places at the same time. Maybe they should clone Steve. Hey, and if they do, can they make one of him for me, please???

    • LOL, only if I get a clone for me, too! 😉

      • lizzie1701

        Me too! Me Too!

Nia and Isis – we have to make a pact to be at next year’s Comic Con, even though it may be against the odds!! I just haver to see Stephen in the flesh (not just seeing him nekkid in the flesh on the show!)

      • Nia

That would be a dream come true Lizzie. Meeting Stephen and sharing the experience with good friends.
        I would love it!!

We may have to enlist Isis’s help in getting tickets or how to get tickets and accommodation!

          • I’ll be glad to help anyone from our lovely commenters here get tickets… I just warn you now, save as much money as you can. Though it IS possible to survive at Con on a $300 budget, I REALLY don’t recommend it. (That’s what I did last year, and I used every trick in the book.)

Instead, just save as much as you can. I’m not sure what the ticket prices will be for next year are, but they’ll be at least $100 for a 4 day pass. That’s this year’s price. Then, don’t forget a hotel room. For that, it’s MUCH easier to get a single room and split the cost with other people. I tend to stick with the typical 4 people/room. That way, everyone can sleep on a bed. However, the hotel you try to get rooms at is another issue… Some are very expensive (think in the $2,000+/4 nights range) and nearby while others are further away and cost less.

Also, you NEED money for going out for food and drinks, since Con has limited selection (think soda, water, cookies, and other junk food at outrageous prices). Then, remember that even if you don’t want to, you will most likely end up buying a few things…

Comic-Con is expensive but SOOOOOO worth it! LOL 😀
