Fan Event Gives True Blood Spoilers for Season 3

June 4, 2010 by

A major fan event – the True Blood Ultimate Fan Experience – occurred on June 1st with a Q&A session with the show’s executive producer and cast.  In addition to Alan Ball, those participating included Anna Paquin (Sookie), Stephen Moyer (Bill), Alexander Skarsgard (Eric), Ryan Kwanten (Jason), Sam Trammell (Sam), Rutina Wesley (Tara) and Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica).  The event was hosted by Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly.

Little teasers were shared, giving fans more spoilers for Season 3, which starts on June 13, just a few days over a week away.  Thanks to Hollywood Crush, here are some tidbits we hadn’t heard before.

We know that the chemistry between Sookie and Eric intensifies, but finally Alexander admitted that Eric is more than a little intrigued about Sookie.  She is different but he can’t figure out why.  And while he enjoyed toying with Bill over his protectiveness of Sookie, Eric is not playing any more.  His attraction for her is now much deeper.

As for Sookie‘s feelings, Alan believes her attraction to Eric is more than the blood connection they now have.

“I think, definitely, the blood is a big part of that,” he said.  “But I think during that sequence where Godric met the sun, Sookie saw a side of Eric that no one else has seen.  She saw him at a really vulnerable moment.”

In other articles, we learned that Sam will spend Season 3 searching for his real family to discover more about himself.  The problem is, Sam Trammell said of his character, Sam thinks he can find them and meet them, then go on his merry way.  Not.  “There are some really big twists that are very disturbing that happen.”

Knowing that the fans wanted more, Alan gave more True Blood teasers.

“One of the people seated here tonight will get new hair.  There are creatures besides werewolves that we’ll meet.  Someone’s going to take their clothes off.  We’ll see a bit of a dark side from some of our characters who we wouldn’t expect it from, including Ms. Stackhouse.  We’ll see a dark side to Sookie.”

Wow.  Sounds like this will be an amazing season!

If “spurning” Sookie is a sexual thing than I am glad, it seems maybe they will wait for what happens in book 4. You have to think: Eric’s interest in Sookie, so far in the series, has just been curiosity, not sexual. The whole tricking her into tasting his blood was just a way to keep tabs on her, like Bill can. Actually we haven’t seen Eric interested in anyone, so far, in a sexual way except for the little clip of Yvetta from the minisodes, we’ve seen him feeding from a girl in Dallas and it’s been implied that he was the vampire Dawn had sex with from season 1(remember she told Jason the vamp had long hair and it was the best sex she had ever had) but nothing has been shown. All the sexual stuff has come from Sookie’s direction in the form of dreams. Being nice to her could be his way of winning her trust and I don’t know if Alan going to use this angle from the books but Eric knows more about Bill’s motives for meeting Sookie in the first place and he could just feel bad for her. Also, Eric isn’t going to want to be Sookie’s rebound, I can’t see our viking going for leftovers. I can, however, see him playing her into a frenzy until she wants him for him, whether th reason is sexual or emotional or blood.

I agree. I’m willing to wait for the real deal and not just rebound sex. It will happen!!!

The last 5 days is going to kill me. The more that comes out, the happier I get. I agree. No rebound sex, that would just be skanky. Let it build up until they really know each other, imo.

5 days until the v-ddiction continues.

So many great spoilers out this week. From what we have seen and heard from Alan Ball, the Viking will have done more than one good thing this season for Sookie. And from latest synopsis’ posted for episodes 28, 29 and 30, it appears that Eric will spurn Sookie. Thank you Alan Ball if this true.

Eric not taking what he wants and having Sookie not partaking of the Viking right now is absolutely awesome. More true to the essence of CH’s original material. Eric is interested and so is Sookie but not on the rebound from William Compton. Thank you indeed. As Alan Ball has stated the growing interest between Sookie and Eric its not entirely about the blood.

    Hallelujahs!

I can’t WAIT for Season 3 to start! I have my TruBlood on ice, ready to go for the season opener. Sharpen your fangs, and hold on tight. Looks like this one is gonna be a wild ride!!!!

At this point I wouldn’t mind if Sam started this season as a chicken and laid his own eggs!!! 🙂 I’m on pins and needles waiting for the season premere! Regardless of whatever outcome AB and crew has in store for us, I’m here for the duration!!! I enjoy the ups and downs of a wild ride just like the next person…

From what I’ve heard so far, this is going to be my favorite season yet. I loved Club Dead and for the most part from the little snippets we’ve been shown and from what Alan has said himself lately, I think we’re going to see a lot of what’s in Club Dead come out and even events from that book. They may not be carbon copies of how it happened in CH’s books, but I think the “core” will be there and we’ll get the same results just in different ways.

    Can’t wait. 8 more long days!!!! 😀

It all sounds very interesting. Still don’t get the Sookie seeing Eric’s softer side and giving Bill the flick. I mean, she saw what he did to Laf and how he treated Bill etc. I don’t know. One good deed does not a good person make. JMO.

We’ll see. I may be saying good bye to TB as I did not like the books after book 3 and if it is setting up 4, well, I don’t know if I can stand to do the distance. AB said that happiness will come towards the end. I don’t want to watch seasons of E/S and then Bill coming back for the happiness (which I am sure it will be). It all depends how all the characters arcs go. The books had way too many strange things/beings etc and we are seeing less and less of the core characters. Dunno.

    Thanks for posting.

OH BOY! OH BOY! OH BOY!, rubbing my hands feverishly!!! Sounds pretty interesting… could be they are laying the blocks for season 4 hum… Maybe!!! 🙂

I can’t wait to see “Hello Kitty’s claw come out!” LOL 😉 I think Sookie should show more fierceness and start standing up for herself like she does for her loved ones!!!

I think Sam will wish that he left well enough alone when it comes to his family..sometimes the past should stay right where it is (in the past)!!

Can’t wait to see the werewolves (and panthers), should be very interesting!! Nudity we could always use!!!… 😉

All in all this season should make for a very very interesting and wild ride!!!! IF IT WILL EVER GET HERE!!! 🙂
