Ryan Kwanten in Guardians of Ga’Hoole

ryanRyan is back home in Sydney, Australia lending his voice to the new animated Animal Logic feature Guardians of Ga’Hoole.  Animal Logic is the Australian production company that created Happy Feet.

Guardians is focused on a small flock of barn owls, led by two free-thinking owlets, Soren and Gylfie, being raised at St. Aggie’s Accademy. a refuge for orphaned owlets.  They and the other members of  ‘The Band’, Digger and Twilight,  flee to the Island of Ga’Hoole, the land of good owls and then on to The Great Ga’Hoole Tree where family complicates life in the three books being compiled into this film, The Capture, The Journey and The Rescue.

In mid December Ryan joined Hugh Jackman and Hugo Weaving providing voices of the cartoon cast .  The movie is being produced by Zareh Nalbandian and directed by Zack Snyder for development companies Village Roadshow and Warner Bros. and is based on Kathryn Lasky’s NY Times ‘Best Selling’ series of fifteen children’s books which were wonderfully illustrated by Richard Chowder.  Scripted by John Orloff (A Mighty Heart) and John Collee (Happy Feet) the movie is due out in 2010.
