The Season 6 Finale of True Blood flashed forward 6 months and showed a very happy and in love, Sookie(Anna Paquin) and Alcide(Joe Manganiello). Sookie has sworn off vampires(for maybe the 100th time) so we are sure that Sookie and Alcide will live happily ever after…NOT! Though Alcide is the suitor closest to a human that Sookie has fallen for in the 6 seasons(with the exception of Sam), it makes sense that the storyline would put these two together(since Sam is no longer available).

TVline.com got an exclusive interview with True Blood Show Runner, Brian Buckner and he dished on the Season 7 Alcide/Sookie Scoop!

“The show has flirted with a Sookie and Alcide romance for years. Why was now the right time to pull the trigger on that?
In a world where almost everybody is a creature of some kind, Alcide is the most human of all of our creatures. Now, that’s not to say that it was his most human season. We all felt the same thing that the audience was feeling, which was that Alcide needed to come back to center. So it was that as much as anything else. And it was also that Sookie’s going to put her money where her mouth is and say “no more vampires.” She got into it with Warlow without knowing he was a vampire, so she was trying. But this shows growth for Sookie. I mean, I suppose he’s a hunk, so at least she’s still getting her piece. [Laughs] He’s the most normal, most human, most down-to-earth of any of her suitors. To me, with Eric gone and off on his own story going forward, I think it’s a pretty obvious triangle we’re setting up between Bill and Sookie and Alcide.”

I only have two issue with the Sookie/Alcide love story…Didn’t Eric glamour Alcide into never touching Sookie? Wasn’t Sookie supposed to repulse Alcide? I may have missed the un-glamour moment…What do you think Truebies? Is there a contradiction here? Number two, I love the Eric/Sookie/Bill love triangle…not sure the Alcide/Sookie/Bill triangle is going to do it for me!

i think sookie leaves alcide. her heart only beats for vampires. ok, but than eric, the hot viking-god. bill sucks. alcide is only ” a guy for some times”, she think thats better than alone. i think sookie is so silly. alcide is the right guy for her: he loves her really, make all for her, is damned sexxy, he is “warm”-a really good guy. but i think the end-couple is sookie&eric. i hope, alcide find in season7 a lady who loved him from the bootom of her heart. rikki…is only a bitch-not good for a guy like alcide. my fav. couple: jessica&alcide! i angry&sad: after season7 no true blood, no alcide, no vampires, no action. hope, alcide not dies!!! i luv this guy, he is my absolut afv by tb. stpehen moyer talks about rumors after season7: a sequel, a film, what ever…

I think Alcide is going to live next door to his dad by season’s end and how many times has she given Bill a chance the past six seasons

I agree about the Eric comment but I think Buckner is trolling. Alan Ball was famous for making his statements about characters and plot lines that never panned out. I see what you are doing Bucky. As far as the dog is concerned Alcide is an opportunist. Showing up at the funeral of someone you don’t even know just hoping you get to pick up Sookie. Gah, neve fear it won’t last. Alcide is a loner.triangles have been used in the past and I hope to see the return of Eric, Sookie and Bill. That was the best triangle. I have lots of hopes for next season one being that the writers are listening just a bit to the fandom. We do finance your show.

My concern lies within the final portion of Brian’s comment… “with Eric gone and off on his own story going forward”. Hmmmm…what does this mean? Please don’t make Eric – “Godric” the second. I need the ‘real’ Eric in all his VIKING GLORY

For the millionth time: Sookie took the glamour off Alcide the next morning. “Did you just *recoil* from me? Fucking Eric…” was the line.

Personally, I’m so through with Eric. I never found him very interesting. Alcide is pretty much the only decent guy on the show, trying to do the right thing with no ulterior agenda. I don’t think he and Sookie will last because it’s True Blood–unless season 7 is the last season and the writers decide to have a “happy ever after” ending. I’m not really interested in seeing another live triangle, though. I’d like to see Sookie realize she can be okay on her own.
