True Blood Season 7: Could Sookie Stackhouse End Up as a Vampire?

May 27, 2014

Latest  Promo Poster Features Sookie With a Bloody Tear:

And we all know that only vampires in the Sookieverse cry bloody tears. Could this latest promo poster from HBO for True Blood Season 7 signify a change in Sookie (Anna Paquin)? Will she sacrifice the very thing she cherishes so dearly – being a human – in order to save someone else?

True to the End HBO True Blood Season 7 promo poster

This idea was investigated in in Season 6, so surely the writers wouldn’t draw upon this dilemma so soon? However, we have seen a lot of doom and gloom in the trailers for Season 7. We have also seen Sookie sobbing and bloody as someone appears to be dying in her arms – could this be the catalyst needed for Sookie to consider becoming a vampire?

Yet, the title of the poster seems to say otherwise: True to the End. This would suggest that Sookie wouldn’t turn – no matter what odds are stacked against her.

So why is she crying bloody tears HBO?

What are your thoughts on this newest promo poster for True Blood Season 7? Let us know in the comments below!

True Blood Season 5 Poster – Sookie!

May 12, 2012

HBO's True Blood's Sookie played by Anna Paquin

Less Than 30 Days to True Blood Season 5!

The posters are out for the HBO True Blood stars for season five! There will be one for each actor and we at TrueBloodNet.com have decided to present one per post in order to give each it’s own top billing. As we all know, Sookie, Bon Temps telepathic waitress discovered she is also a Fairy last season. Sookie is played Oscar winning actress Anna Pacquin.  For four seasons Sookie has been at the center of a vampire triangle between Vampire Bill and Eric Northman. At the end of last season she rejected them both and also turned down hot werewolf Alcide. Will she stick to that and spend a season alone? Will she find someone new? Maybe turn to Sam who’s always carried a torch for Sookie?

Will True Blood’s Eric and Sookie Have Their Long Awaited Shower Scene?

July 25, 2011

Comic-Con’s True Blood Panel Delivers Elusive Answers (SPOILERS!):

TB cast at Comic-Con 2011 AP Photo/Denis Poroy

The question on everyone’s mind at Comic-Con was: will there be a shower scene and how closely will it follow the book? Alan Ball‘s response:

“There will be a moment where Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) are together in the shower. But it may be weirder and dirtier than the one in the book.”

Weirder and dirtier? Well we should expect nothing less from True Blood. Who wants clean and normal? Ball also commented on Season 5 and promises that there will be a male/female strip club. Ball also said that at the strip club there would be “a completely different twisted supernatural aspect”.

Many fans asked if Sam (Sam Trammell) and Tara (Rutina Wesley) have any hope of getting back together or if their romance is over? Ball’s response was evasive: “Nothing is ever done on this show.” Something we all know to be true on True Blood.

We will also get to see how Eric made his progeny Pam (Kristin Bauer) next season, something many fans have been waiting a long time to see.

The Comic-Con crowd got a sneak peak at a trailer for the rest of Season 4. It ends with Sookie lying on the ground in a graveyard bleeding from the stomach. A million questions rush through one’s head after seeing it, but we shall just have to wait until next Sunday and the Sunday after that…

Alan Ball did make a rather mysterious statement about Sookie and her Fairy heritage:

“For those who read the books, you know that fairies are born in litters and are identical.”

Does this mean we will be seeing more of Claudine in some way?

Many of us have been wondering, why haven’t we seen more naked Sookie? Ball’s answer:

“She takes her clothes off all the time.”

Thank goodness, because a naked Sookie usually means there is a naked vampire!

True Blood: Episode 1 Fashion Recap

July 4, 2011

Season 4 Looks Set to Rock the Fashion Stakes:

Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse in True BloodOkay, now we have finally had our fix of a new episode. The next thing is: What were they wearing? Here’s a rundown for the fashion (and vampire) inclined.

Sookie

Think Alice in Wonderland for fashion for our favorite barmaid this season. We see her in just he cutest little blue dress ever! She complements the look with one of her classic headbands.

Jason

This season Jason is channeling the ‘hot cop’ look, complete with a new goatee. While those guys out in Hotshot may think he should be kept in a freezer, I am hoping he gets a chance to strut more of the cop look soon.

Eric

More tanks, more leather, more Eric. Enough said. Nobody does cool and dead like a dead viking. But he has had over a thousand years to get his style right.

Bill

On the other hand, we have Bill. He seems to have finally worked out that Henley shirts are out of fashion, and have been since he died. He is looking more refined this season, which is the only thing befitting a king. The look certainly becomes him. Of course, now he is the bad guy, and we shouldn’t be caring one way or the other how he looks!

Wiccans/Witches

This bunch seems to fall into two distinct categories: Hot Librarian and Frumpy. Marnie fits into the latter category. It’s strange to see a leader of a coven dressed like she has a floordrobe and no light bulb. The rest of her coven fall into the ‘hot librarian’ category.

Lafayette

Now here is a man who has no fear of clothes and new and exciting ways to wear them. He has chosen the Mr. T look this season. That or someone placed a ferret on his head while he was sleeping and forgot to tell him. There are more scarves worn as head gear and more pretty long tops that would look great on a girl, but look spectacular on Lafayette.

Pam, Et Al

Pam is continuing with her pink PTA look. She still looks adorable and deadly all rolled into one.

Tara has become Toni. She has ditched the new hairstyle and gone for ultra-smooth locks. She has also taken up fighting as a profession, so expect plenty of shorts and tanks for this girl during Season 4.

Jessica and Hoyt have been raiding the same wardrobe: namely Hoyt’s. They both appear in matching jeans and plaid shirts. Jessica, however, does lose this look and take on a dress once she and Hoyt have a domestic.

Can’t wait to see what the next episode brings!

Thanks to Randi for bringing us the scoop. Remember Truebies, we welcome your contributions.

The Franklin Files — The Disappearance

December 2, 2010

“Hey, Sook, how’s it shakin?” Lafayette asked as he walked through the backdoor into the kitchen of Sookie Stackhouse.

“Lafayette, what are you doing all the way out here? If you’re looking for Tara, she drove into town”

“Well, can’t I come visit you?”

“Well, you can, but since it’s never happened before, except when Tara was in serious trouble and I don’t see her being in trouble in her life or in your mind…oh, you’re here because of Jesús! Of course, you can hide his present here!”

“Sook, I hate it when you do that. Can’t you just pretend you don’t know? Just play dumb and LET. ME. TELL. YOU. STUFF. OKAY?”

“Okay, I’m sorry, Lafayette, Honestly. You know I try but I’m just so happy for you. The two of you are just so cute together.”

“Cute? We’re cute? We may be gay, but don’t be calling us ‘cute’. Damn, girl, don’t you know nothing?” Lafayette was really getting uptight.

“A little touchy are we?”

“YES! This is the first time I ever had to buy a Christmas present that I didn’t just go and pick up from Wal-mart at the last minute.”

“I will really cherish the cardigan you gave me last year, Lafayette.” Sookie said in mocked pain. “You remember, the one you told me you spent hours to find so that it would set off the highlights in my hair? Remember that one?”

“C’mon Sook, you know what I mean. Buying a gift for someone you think you love, especially the first Christmas gift is a big deal.”

“I know,” Sookie sighed and her eyes started to well up.

“Now what?”

“I really thought I’d be celebrating Christmas with Bill this year. I had found pictures of all his family members who’d been born since he’d died, or didn’t die, you know what I mean, in the library and I was going to get them framed for his Christmas present. But now I can’t.” Sookie started crying harder.

Lafayette went and put his arm around her. “Sookie, I’m sure he’s probably seen all those people anyway.”

“I’m not crying because he won’t see the pictures! I’m crying because I won’t be spending Christmas with him!” She punched him in the arm. “Lafayette just go! Go hide your present in Tara’s room!”

“Sookie, I was JOKING! I knew what you meant. I’m just trying to get you to smile a little. But I’ll head up to Tara’s room with this. And to save you the trouble of reading my mind, I got him a bracelet with a little engraving on it, and I know that you know that I know that you know that I know that you know what it says, etc., etc., etc., etc, etc…” and he continued this all the way into Tara’s room.

“Okay, where am I going to put this, so my girl don’t get all up in my business?” He opened up the closet and saw the clothes and shoes piled in the corner and thought that this has got to be the spot. Lafayette started to dig through the mound of stuff until he came to something hard and substantial. He pulled it out and was surprised to find a very large, very old leather briefcase. He opened it up to find a similar looking journal, with the name Franklin Mott on the cover. There was a red ribbon attached to it, to be used as a place keeper. “What is Tara doing with this? Why is she hiding it?” He opened it where the ribbon held the place and began to read:

Tuesday, 10 December, 1855

She is still missing. The men of the parish have set the hounds upon the woods and have been riding all day looking for her to no avail. It’s been horrible. What is to be done? I don’t know if I can go on like this much longer. I haven’t slept now for what? Let’s see, I discovered her disappearance after Sunday evening services. And I was up most of Saturday eve preparing my sermon so it’s been three days now. I can’t focus, I can’t think. I keep going through the details in my head wondering if I may have seen a clue or overlooked a detail in my worry and haste when I discovered she was missing.

Sunday afternoon, I reluctantly left her bedside for evening services, she had looked so wan and pale. In the last week, just like in the case of Mr. Meagles, she seemed to get no better and the bite marks would not heal. In the beginning, both Mother and Gwendolyn, suffered these strange symptoms but she only she continued to decline. I rushed back to her bedside from services, asked after her from the nurse who said she’d been sleeping peacefully and she’d heard nothing from her in the last hour since the nurse had gone in to wipe her brow and clean her up a little in my absence. I went up to the door and knocked and getting no response I went downstairs and waited half an hour, dozing off myself. I felt a shiver run through me when I swore I was awakened by the howl of a wolf. I bolted upstairs and opened the door. And nothing! She was gone! I called for the nurse and the maid and everyone in the house and no one had seen her. It was horrible. We ran outside but there were no signs of anyone, no sounds of wolves, nothing. The nurse and the maid swear that they never were out of listening range and would have heard her try to leave by the front door and the cook was in the kitchen preparing for tomorrow so the back door was also an impossibility.

I must confess I don’t understand it. How does one vanish into thin air? I saw no obvious signs of anything out of place except for her. Oh, how can my heart go on? What about the life of happiness I planned? If she’s dead none of it will come to pass for it will mean nothing to me. Marital bliss, fatherhood, a lifetime of happiness will not be open to me if she does not live to see it. She has got to be found and found alive….

“Just what the hell do you think you’re doing?” Tara stood in the doorway of her bedroom.
“I think I should be asking you that question. Why are you reading this crazy ass vampire’s journal?” Lafayette was trying to come up with something to take the sting out of being caught.

“Kind of interesting, ain’t it?”

“Girl, yes. Who is she?”

“She who?”

“The ‘She’ that’s missing. Aren’t you reading this thing? Right here where the ribbon is.”

Tara took the journal, “Don’t say another word. I always put the ribbon where I’m going to read next. It just happened to go on a new page, so I don’t know what you’re talking about. Don’t wreck it for me.”

“Well, read it so you can tell me who it is.”

“Lafayette, I’m glad you found the journal, I’ve been dying to talk to someone about it. But I don’t think we should tell anyone else about it. I don’t know if word got out that I had this, let alone that I was reading it, that the vampires would be very happy about it.”

“Damn, girl, just what I needed. One more reason for vampires not to like me. I’m already their ‘favorite’ black, gay, short order cooking, drug dealing, fine-ass looking, now add vampire journal reading, man in Louisiana. Thanks a lot.”

“Are you finished?” Tara blew out an exasperated sigh. “Just keep it quiet. And keep your mind on something else when you’re with Sookie so she doesn’t know it’s here.” Tara started to put the book away.

“And I do that how?”

“Think good things about Jesús”

“Oh, yeah. That’ll work.”

The two of them started down the stairs when Tara asked, “Just what were you doing in my room?”

“Doesn’t’ matter.”

When they got to the kitchen Sookie was still cleaning in the kitchen. Tara told her they both needed to get off to work.

“Okay, my shift starts in two hours, so I’ll see you there.”

Lafayette gave her a big hug and handed her the box for Jesús, “Sookie will you keep this for me until Christmas?”

“What were you doing in Tara’s room all this time?”

“Oh, it doesn’t matter. See you on the flip side.” Lafayette practically ran out of the kitchen.

Sookie thought to herself, “Normally, when people tell me it doesn’t matter, it usually does…

True Blood’s Allan Hyde Access Hollywood Interview

August 18, 2009

godric_03_800The name Allan Hyde is a fairly unknown name to most of us, but that is the name of the 20-year-old Danish actor that portrays Godric on HBO’s hit series, True BloodGodric is the 2,000-year-old vampire that came onto the scene for season 2 as Eric‘s (Alexander Skarsgard) maker.

Though Allan is unfamiliar to most Americans, he has starred in several Danish films and has stage credits.  He voiced Ron Weasley in the “Harry Potter” movies for his native country.  He has also appeared on the international soundtrack for Disney’s “Camp Rock”.  When asked about preparing for his role on True Blood, Allan says:

“[Preparing for the role was] hard because obviously you can’t imitate a guy with wisdom of a 2,000 year old person because that’s impossible.”

However, Allan was able to find a part of himself from the past that he could use to tap into his role as GodricAllan says:

“I found stuff in my own life that I could compare to. I had stuff in my early years of primary school where I was kind of a bully. It’s nothing compared to the stuff Godric went through. I came to a realization where I was just like, ‘Whoa, this is just wrong!’ And the way I felt bad about myself for doing this stuff was the equivalent of Godric‘s feeling just on a smaller scale.”

When asked about how he landed the role of Godric, Allan states:

“The auditioning process was almost non-existent. I got a call from a casting director in Hollywood saying that they cannot find a guy to play [the] part. I had never had the idea of doing anything outside Denmark at that point.”

True Blood Season 1 had not even premiered in Denmark at the time that Allan auditioned for the part of Godric.  He was clueless to the fact of what it meant to be working with the Oscar-winning director and creator of True Blood, Alan BallAllan says:

“Within a few days everyone within the Danish industry had heard about me auditioning for this thing. I received calls from different people I had worked with before who were just like, ‘You have to say ‘Hi’ to Alan Ball for me’, because they were all like huge fans and I was like, ‘Ok, this guy is quite a big deal.”

I found Sunday’s episode to be extremely moving, especially the final scenes with Godric and SookieAllan, Alexander Skarsgard (Eric), and Anna Paquin (Sookie) had only minutes to film Godric‘s death scene.  They, along with True Blood’s filming crew, were racing with time to capture the morning’s natural light.  Allan told Access Hollywood:

“It was amazing, not just because it was such a touching scene. The performances of Alex and Anna in that scene were so amazing just to watch.”

Last night, Godric sought forgiveness and felt joy as the sun rose atop a Dallas rooftop with Sookie by his side.  Though his body burst into flames and blew away in the wind, I don’t think Allan Hyde will be disappearing from the acting scene.  Though Allan only appeared in four episodes, he now has an American fan base that wants more!  Allan says:  “I just want to work. I just want to act. And I don’t care if it’s here or if it’s in Denmark. It’s just about doing good stuff, doing stuff you like.”
