True Blood Finale: A Look Back on… The Sex Scenes

August 24, 2014

What Would You Rate as the Best and Worst Sex Scenes in HBO’s True Blood?

Ginger (Tara Buck) and Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) get intimate in HBO's True Blood Season 7 Episode 9 (entitled 'Love is to Die')It’s hard to pick just a few stand out sex scenes in HBO’s True Blood – considering just how many have been dished up to us over the last seven years. But, after much research, here’s my top six list:

  1. BEST: Ginger (Tara Buck) and Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) finally get it on atop Eric’s throne in Fangtasia. Yep, I really didn’t think this hook up in Season 7 would be as thoroughly entertaining as it turned out to be. I’m not sure if it was Ginger’s undeniable glee, or the fact that she is just so damn excited that she is over and done with in a matter of seconds or if it’s because it was very obviously a nod to the whole vampire fangirldom out there.
  2. WORST: Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and Lorena Krasiki (Mariana Klaveno) get bendy in Season 3. This one was just plain weird. And it made me want to throw up in my mouth just a little. Even just thinking about Bill twisting Lorena’s head all the way round as I am typing now is making me nauseous.
  3. BEST: Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll) goes to visit Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) in her red riding outfit. Yeah, I’m pretty sure there was a spike in red riding hood capes in 2012 after Jessica wore hers in Season 5.
  4. WORST: Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) claws his way out of the grave to have sex with Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin). I am still surprised Sookie didn’t need hospitalization after that romp. All that dirt, and in all the wrong places…
  5. BEST: Jason Stackhouse has a sex dream about Eric Northman – while he’s in church! Yep, I know after six months the effects of vampire blood on a human has probably worn off, but I’m glad to over look that for the fact that these two hooked up in Season 7.
  6. WORST: Bon Temps has an orgy. Thank you very much Maryann Forrester (Michelle Forbes) for coming to Bon Temps in Season 2 and making me see things that I cannot unsee. Although, on a flip side to this one, we did get a hilarious scene with Jason posing as ‘the god who came’…

Michael Lombardo Reveals Why True Blood Had to Meet the True Death

August 22, 2014

HBO’s Programming Head Discusses Why True Blood was Axed:

Anna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse in HBO's True Blood Season 7 finaleFans of True Blood have been begging HBO to bring back their favorite vampire series since it was announced last year that it wouldn’t be renewed beyond Season 7. With ratings this year as strong as in previous seasons, many fans are questioning why a show as successful as True Blood should go. HBO’s programming head, Michael Lombardo has finally released a statement on this matter:

This season, True Blood is one of the highest-rated shows across the board; it gets over 10 million views an episode. But the minute you feel you’re airing it for the numbers we start questioning it. Every season we sit down with the creator and say ‘Tell us what the next year will be like.’ And if there aren’t exciting, unbelievable, undeniable ideas in the coming season, we’re questioning. And I think in the case of True Blood, it just felt like we had reached a place where the storytelling was hitting a wall. And to stay just because the ratings were strong felt not who we are and we needed, quite honestly, the money and Sunday night space for new shows.

And, for a network whose income is based on subscribers rather than advertising, perhaps he has a point here. What HBO needs to keep doing is creating phenomenal content for the audience they are targeting. However, for the millions of True Blood fans out there, next Sunday night will be a particularly sad one for them.

You can tune in to watch the True Blood Season 7 finale on HBO at 9PM EST on Sunday 24th August 2014.

VIDEO: What Does Being Part of True Blood Mean to the Cast?

August 18, 2014

Watch as the True Blood Cast Get Asked This Question and Are Speechless:

#RIPTrueBlood vidoFor us truebies, there is a horrible bittersweet moment about to occur: the end of True Blood. We have been steeling ourselves against the inevitable. Enjoying the final season but also sad at all the ‘lasts’  we’ve had; the last first episode, the last promo video, the last Comic Con…

But what of the cast members? They have been a part of this family for just as long as we have, for some, even longer as production started well before we witnessed that very first episode. So, how do they cope with the end of an era such as True Blood? You can find out by watching this video below when the cast are asked the question: ‘What does being a part of True Blood mean to you?’ But, be warned, you WILL need tissues…

True Blood Season 7: Alexander Skarsgard WILL Be There!

August 20, 2013

And Just HOW Much Proding Did it Take For Alexander Skarsgard to Strip off?

Alexander Skarsgard will star as Eric Northman in HBO's True Blood Season 7It appears that the True Blood fan reaction to Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) burning in flames in the season finale of HBO’s True Blood Season 6 is still the talk of the water cooler. Not only that, but many are wondering if they will even tune in to True Blood Season 7 if the tall Viking vampire is no longer present!

Well, TV Line scored an exclusive interview with True Blood’s new showrunner, Brian Buckner, and the short answer is: Eric Northman WILL return in True Blood Season 7. Here’s exactly what he had to say:

I can tell you that Alexander Skarsgard is going to be a part of the next season of True Blood. He will be a series regular.

Phew!

Now that is cleared up, just how easy was it to get Alexander Skarsgard to strip down for the cameras? Well, he’s Swedish, you know, and they are usually quite comfortable with nudity, so apparently Brian Buckner didn’t have to twist his arm – not even a little bit! Getting approval for the scenes after they were shot was a piece of cake also:

Alex Skarsgard was the coolest camper in the world. There’s no conversation with him. He’s Swedish. They’re naked all the time. As a matter of fact, when I saw what we had on camera, I sent him an email that said, “We’re going to lock picture. Are you OK with this?” He said, “No problemo.” That was the conversation. It couldn’t have been easier.

As for how easily Eric Northman will recover for his extreme sunburn, this will not be a cake walk. As far as Buckner is concerned, to have Eric miraculously come out of something like this would be a cop out. And considering how long it took for Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare) to recover from his burning, we may not want to see the Viking naked again any time soon! Although, Buckner did hint at Pam’s (Kristin Bauer van Straten) possible involvement:

Pam has gone off in search of Eric, and maybe she’s going to be the one to find him, y’know?

How do you think Eric Northman will be saved from the sun in True Blood Season 7? Be as creative as you like and let us know in the comments below!

True Blood Season 6 Finale: Warlow is Set to Explode!

August 18, 2013

Robert Kazinsky Hints at Warlow’s Bad Side:

Robert Kazinsky stars as Warlow / Ben Flynn in HBO's True Blood Season 6Many trubie fans have been enjoying the Warlow (Robert Kazinsky) storyline in HBO’s True Blood Season 6. It’s nice to see Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) have a potential partner closer to her type (fae-human) and that will result in her still being able to sunbathe in the summer.

Of course the downside to this budding romance is the fact that Warlow not only drained the majority of fairies in the area and sent Niall (Rutger Hauer) into a nasty otherworldly dimension, but he is intent on turning Sookie into a fairy-vampire hybrid!

So what will happen if Sookie drags her heels on her promise to marry Warlow and have him turn her into an undead, sparkling daywalker? According to Robert Kazinsky, it could be explosive:

This guy’s a timebomb if he goes off. It’s not just scary, it’s cataclysmic. He’s an incredibly powerful vampire, and as a fae, he throws fireballs. He can take what he wants, but he’s trying his best to be understanding, to be a good guy, to make her love him of her own free will. She has a choice, and he’s given her that.

Kazinsky also compares Warlow to an addict, saying that his character cannot stop at draining just one person. Once he starts, he can’t stop. Is this an indication that another bloodbath may follow in True Blood’s Season 6 finale perhaps?

And if this is the case, will Warlow survive to see True Blood Season 7? Robert is not even sure, it seems:

In my mind’s eye, I can’t see Sookie and Bill getting over their troubles — or even Sookie and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) — so maybe this guy is her best chance if he makes it to season seven.

What do you think will happen between Warlow and Sookie Stackhouse in the True Blood Season 6 finale? Let us know in the comments below.

True Blood Season 6 Finale Spoilers: The Stakes Are High!

August 18, 2013

Who Will Die? Who Will Sookie End up With?

Robert Kazinsky (Warlow / Ben Flynn) and Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) star in the HBO True Blood Season 6 finaleTruebie fans are frantically counting down the hours to HBO’s True Blood Season 6 finale. And there are literally just mere hours to go until all our True Blood questions are answered for this season (and more questions raised to keep us wondering until True Blood Season 7).

Searching the web today, this is what TrueBloodNet have found for you in relation to the True Blood Season 6 finale:

  • According to Lauren Bowles (who plays Holly Cleary), things will be shaken up considerably to ready fans for True Blood Season 7:

The end of this season, I think, is going to surprise everyone. I love the direction that it goes in — I’m not sure if everyone will — but I do. And I can promise that you won’t be bored. It really takes the show and blows it up in a way that will make everyone clamor for season seven.

  •  As for her relationship with Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer), she is less optimistic about the outcome. As she points out, happy couples don’t last very long on True Blood. So it looks like we’ll just have to enjoy their happiness for as long as it lasts. Perhaps, with the possibility of Andy confronting Jessica Hamby this week will be the beginning of the end for this pair?
  • While there are expected to be more deaths in Episode 10 (entitled Radioactive) of True Blood, showrunner Brian Buckner says it won’t be as bloody as Episode 9 (entitled Life Matters). It will, however, have a bit of a time jump.
  • As a result of the time jump, we will see the first half of the episode dealing with a Warlow (Robert Kazinsky) who is becoming less patient with Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin). Considering Warlow was billed as being the big bad guy this season, this is a little concerning to hear. How will Sookie fare? And in what state will she enter True Blood Season 7: human or vampire?
  • The second part of Episode 10 will help to draw the characters back to Bon Temps and set the scene for Season 7. According to Deborah Ann Woll (who plays Jessica Hamby):
We have a couple of scenes at the end of this season where we were all there. It was amazing to see, like, the 20 cast chairs lined up with names of people I only see once a month.
  • Brian Buckner has also confirmed we will see Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) make at least one more appearance in the True Blood finale. It could possibly be a nude scene too:

There’s definitely something for the ladies and the gay men. We might see a certain body part.

However, considering we saw Eric heal Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) in Episode 9, it is possible this scene may just be a figment of Jason’s imagination!

Let us know what you think will go down in the season finale of HBO’s True Blood Season 6 by commenting below.
