Joe Manganiello Credits True Blood for Upcoming Nuptials

January 24, 2011

A Killer Year

Joe-Manganiello-Audra-MarieJoe Manganiello (Alcide Herveaux) had a stellar 2010. Initially cast on True Blood as a guest star, the actor announced at Comic Con 2010 that he had been made a series regular on the show. Later that year, Joe proposed to his girlfriend Audra Marie and she happily accepted!  But the latter would have never happened without True Blood.

People Magazine caught up with the actor on Saturday, January 22 at the PGA awardsand he told them that his first check for playing Alcide as a series regular went to buying a custom designed ring for Audra:

“The first thing I did with my first check as a season regular is get together with my friend who is a jewelry designer and we co-designed an engagement ring,” he says. “And then my now- fiancée and I went on our trip to Italy and got engaged.”

Going to the Chapel

Now that the happy couple is engaged what about the wedding? While there has been no official announcement yet, they are close to setting a date and choosing a location. But one thing Joe is certain about is who he’ll be inviting—his cast mates!

“The cast will be invited to the wedding…I love them. They’re like my family.”

It sounds like Audra Marie is a very lucky woman being engaged to such a sweet and thoughtful man as Joe Manganiello! But he is also very quick to credit his fiancée who has been extremely supportive and cheered him on through this exciting phase in his career.

We here at TBN would like to extend Joe our sincere congratulations and best wishes to his bride Audra! And for those of you wanting to see more of Alcide Herveaux tune in to HBO June 12 for the season 4 premiere.

Inside the Wedding of True Blood’s Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer

August 27, 2010

Sookie Stackhouse, Bill Compton, True Blood, Anna Paquin, Stephen MoyerAnyone who sees True Blood costars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer together notices how happy they are together. The newly-married couple has a lifetime of happiness to look forward to, after their intimate ceremony in Malibu last weekend. US Weekly has details on the wedding, as well as reflections from friends and family.

About 150 guests were in attendance, including True Blood castmates Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell, Carrie Preston, and Rutina Wesley, as well as series boss Alan Ball. Immediately following the 20-minute ceremony, Stephen celebrated by running into the ocean for a swim with a few friends. The reception that followed was purple-themed, from the flowers to the tablecloths. An all-organic menu including truffled grilled cheese with apricot mustard and beef Wellington with smoked ketchup was served by Eco Caters. Todd Lowe, who plays Terry Bellefleur on True Blood, provided music with his band, Pilbilly Knights.

Their fellow actors on the show and members of the crew recall how long it was before they knew anything about Stephen and Anna’s relationship, but now it’s so obvious in their on- and off-screen chemistry. Cathy Waterman, who designed Anna’s diamond engagement ring, as well as the wedding bands, says,

“To watch Stephen glow as he and Anna fell in love was simply gorgeous. They are lovers and friends and make the world a sunnier place.”

Everybody agrees that they are such an atypical Hollywood couple because of how comfortable they are with each other, whether it’s holding hands as they stroll near their Venice, CA, home, or relaxing with friends and family at a party. As friend and costar Carrie Preston says, “[Anna] really feels like this was all meant to be.”

Looking to the future, Anna has mentioned that she would love to have children, “if I’m blessed with a body that will give them to me. Or even if I’m not. There are many ways to make a family.” She already has a great relationship with Stephen’s kids, Billy and Lilac. Lindsay Haun, who plays Sookie’s cousin Hadley, mentions that Stephen and Anna have talked about childproofing their home:

“I’m sure a baby is in their future!”

In the near future, though, Stephen and Anna are scheduled to present an award at Sunday night’s Emmy Awards, after which they are expected to take their honeymoon.

All About the Paquin/Moyer Wedding

August 23, 2010

Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin, True Blood, Bill Compton, Sookie StackhouseAs we now know, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer were married on August 21, 2010. However, new details are coming out about the ceremony, Anna’s wedding jewels, and the wedding party.

Anna wore some beautiful jewelry to go along with her gorgeous wedding dress. She wore a Neil Lane necklace with 50 carats of round diamonds that were set in a darkened metal. The look was vintage-inspired and very dramatic with her halter-top wedding dress. Anna also wore Neil Lane diamond stud earrings. But she wasn’t the only one sporting jewelry. Anna and Stephen both got platinum wedding bands that were designed by Cathy Waterman, who also designed Anna’s engagement ring.

The wedding ceremony was just as unique as the jewelry was! Anna and Stephen’s wedding was officiated by a True Blood script supervisor who just so happens to be an ordained minister. The ceremony was non-denominational and included Apache and Buddhist elements. Other non-vampire-related elements were also included in the ceremony.

Many other elements were added to the wedding by Anna and Stephen’s True Blood coworkers. Todd Lowe and his band, the Pilbilly Knights, played at the reception while the True Blood music director lead a string quartet during the ceremony. Stephen himself was rather dramatic, walking down the aisle to the tune of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir.”

Lots of other members of the True Blood cast were also in attendance at the wedding, including Alan Ball, Rutina Wesley, Denis O’Hare, Sam Trammell, and Carrie Preston. Rutina spoke briefly to E!Online’s Christina Gibson about the wedding while at Audi’s pre-Emmy party. She said, “I am really happy for them; they really love each other” and also admitted to crying during the wedding. “Of course [I did],” Rutina said, “[Anna] is my girl!”

After the ceremony ended, Stephen and some of the other wedding guests changed into swimsuits and romped around in the ocean. It’s nice that Stephen was able to do that as he and Anna haven’t yet left for their honeymoon. First, they have to present with costar Alexander Skarsgard at the Emmys!
