Tuesday night lights up with the True Blood Cast:

Season 6 Blood Will Spill promo posterHollywood on a Tuesday night and people are sporting the red glitter fang tattoo on their wrist at the blood-themed party as dancers in red corsets and body paint move through the premiere. With games like “Down the Vampire” played, and prizes which include a “bite me” bottle opener there is no doubt who it’s for: HBO’s True Blood.

The hottest cast in town have turned out in what is not a regular Hollywood style, for the party. True Blood’s Brian Bucker, who took over from Allan Ball this year, joked on stage to cheers from the crowd which included Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammel, and Joe Manganiello along with new comer, Jamie Hyder. It’s rare that after the acceptable amount of time has passed, they are still hanging out, but after six seasons this cast know the ins and outs of each other.  Skarsgard was also happy to autograph one of his co stars, apparently a running joke on and off the set between himself and Michael McMillan.

The cast were happy to chat with the fans and HBO executives, and as Manganiello says:

“At the end of the day, it’s a party, but it’s work.”

Charlaine Harris, the creator of the Sookie Stackhouse novels upon which the series if based, also made an appearance and was overheard to exclaim in her southern drawl:

“Well, isn’t this something?”

The cast seem to know where their bread and butter come from. After a lot of photos, networking and even a little dancing, as Paquin was getting ready to leave, she asked the publicist and driver to wait a moment as she went out of her way to get to fans barricaded several hundred feet from the exit to the party:

“It’s part of the job and there’s something to be said for fans hoping for a glimpse and getting an autograph.”

said Paquin.
