True Blood’s Denis O’Hare Starring in ‘Broadway Backwards 6’

Denis O'Hare, the King of Mississippi Russell Edgington, in True BloodDenis O’Hare, True Blood’s vampire king, will be starring with Clay Aiken, Alan Cumming, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Debra Monk in ‘Broadway Backwards’, an annual concert which features men singers performing songs traditionally sung by women, and women singing tunes written from a man’s perspective. The show will be presented for only one night – Feb. 7, 2011 at 8 PM at the Longacre Theatre on West 48th Street.

The show features a very high-wattage cast:

The one-night-only event will boast the talents of “American Idol” runner-up Clay Aiken (Spamalot) and Tony winners Alan Cumming (Cabaret and CBS’ “The Good Wife”) and Denis O’Hare (Take Me Out and HBO’s “True Blood”) as well as Tituss Burgess (The Little Mermaid), Len Cariou (Tony winner for Sweeney Todd), Kevin Chamberlin (The Addams Family), Robin De Jesus (La Cage aux Folles), Jose Llana (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Tony winner for In the Heights), Debra Monk (Curtains), Bobby Steggert (Ragtime), Brian Charles Rooney (The Threepenny Opera) and Tony Yazbeck (Gypsy). Additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
