True Blood Fan Rides for a Cure

July 21, 2010 by

Thomas Attila Lewis is a fan of True Blood and has had the pleasure of interviewing the cast on the Red Carpet at the 2009 Emmys.  He’s a reporter and a writer.  He’s on Facebook and Twitter as @TheTVJunkie and blogs for LAist.com.  Now Thomas is tackling another challenge riding his bike to raise awareness and donations for finding a cure for cancer.

Thomas has entered the Pan Mass Challenge, which involves “riding almost 300 miles across the state of Massachusetts in 3 days.”  His motivation is simple and one many of us can relate to.  Losing loved ones to cancer is devastating.  Some of us have even experienced the scare of going through the fight.  Thomas took stock of the many relatives he lost to this disease and said, enough.

“A handful of us are taking this considerable challenge upon ourselves in order to bring more public awareness and media attention to the good people who ride, the people that sponsor them, and the people we are riding for.”

Thomas loves to cycle and has been averaging up to 300 miles a week in preparation of the challenge. On his blog, his entries give some insight into his training regiment and how the fundraising is progressing. His goal is $5,000.

Time is running out so please make a donation as 100% of the money will go to research and is 100% tax deductible. For further information click on Thomas‘ profile on the Pan Mass Challenge website at http://www.pmc.org/profile/TL0097 and donate!
