The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation honors various media outlets, from film and television to theater and journalism, that foster understanding and respect. Their Media Awards “recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.”

The award winners are announced in three separate cities (which categories are presented at which ceremony will be finalized in February). The awards show in New York City will be held on March 13, 2010, at the Marriott Marquis, in Los Angeles on April 17, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, and in San Francisco on June 5, 2010, at The Westin – St. Francis.
