While surfing may not be something we think of when we watch Sam Trammell play shape shifter Sam Merlotte each week on HBO‘s True Blood, that is exactly what he will be doing this weekend during a 45 minute free surf at the 5th Annual Surfrider Foundation Celebrity Expression Session, which raises awareness and funds for the Surfrider Foundation to protect the world’s oceans and beaches.

True Blood fans can be at First Point, Surfrider Beach in Malibu on Saturday, September 11 at noon to cheer Sam on and watch other celebrities, including:

Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Austin Nichols, Brian Geraghty, Eric Avery and Eric Balfour and is being hosted by Christina Applegate and Martyn Lenoble.

It will be a great way to support Sam while gearing up for the season 3 finale
airing this Sunday night, September 12, 2010 on HBO.
