True Blood Season 2 in the UK Sponsored by Southern Comfort

February 7, 2010 by

Season One of True Blood aired on the FX channel in the UK in the Fall of 2009 and was very well-received, so Season Two will now begin on February 26, 2010, to be shown on Fridays at 10pm. The global drink company Southern Comfort has signed on to sponsor the season, so their brand will be included in an extensive promotional campaign by FX.

Both parties believe that this marketing deal will be a good match. According to a source at Southern Comfort,

“We are delighted to sponsor the second season of True Blood. Southern Comfort’s ‘come as you are’ attitude to life is epitomized in the stories of the residents of Bon Temps, which along without our New Orleans heritage makes True Blood a perfect fit with our brand.”

A representative from Fox agrees:

“As a brand with a strong southern heritage and a flair for the unique, they are the perfect partners for this popular and groundbreaking series.”

Truebies in the UK should keep an eye out for these advertisements, which are said to include chances to win Southern Comfort prizes. Maybe they’ll even come up with ideas for a mixed drink that you can make with Southern Comfort and the TruBlood Beverage! They could call it “Bloody Comfort,” or something like that…
