Win a Copy of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Book: Seize the Night

August 18, 2010 by

True Blood is coming closer and closer to the end of season 3 and the beginning of another excruciating 9 month wait for Season 4. It’s going to be hard, but there are ways to get through it after re-watching the previous seasons of True Blood over and over and talking with fellow fans here on TrueBloodNet.com.

One thing I’ve found very helpful in the wait for each new season of True Blood is to read other vampire books. In doing that, I’ve discovered many other amazing authors whose stories drag me directly into the worlds they have created. One such author is Sherrilyn Kenyon. She kindly donated 4 copies of one of her Dark-Hunter books, Seize the Night, to TrueBloodNet.com to be given away as prizes.

Just like True Blood, the Dark-Hunter series feature lots of action, wonderful romance, and sexy vampires. Each book tells the story of a specific Dark-Hunter (the good guys with vampire-ish characteristics in the series).  Seize the Night is the tale of Valerius Magnus, who was a Roman soldier in his human life.

This story is smart, well written, and a pleasure to read again and again. In fact, it is my favorite book in the Dark-Hunter series.

Four (4) lucky winners will be chosen to win a copy of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s book Seize the Night.

I would have to say I would have liked to come from the eraof templar knights. I would probably say I would be like I am now, blunt and to the point. Compassionate.

  2. cathie says:

I’d love to have been around during ancient Rome. I’d hope I was a nice vampire!

  3. Heather says:

I would absolutely love to be a vampire from the days of ancient Greece! I’d convince the people I was a god of the night and have them build me a huge, amazing temple! It would be great. Of course, I’d also do my best to help them with their problems as long as it was within my realm of abilities. It would be great to be on top of the world in one of the most beautiful places!

  4. Carla says:

I would want to be a vampire from the present, because i think all DH storys could happen in this time. And i would the kind 😀

  5. Jennifer H says:

I would be from the 1800’s – where the world was changing. I would want to be knowledgable but adaptable and I think that I would have a slight chip on my shoulder to make sure that everyone was understanding the independent female.

  6. Meredith Miller says:

I’d like to come from maybe the 1300 or 1400’s. I’d like to live in a time when life was simpler, with fewer people. I’m sure that would make me very appreciative for modern conveniences nowadays, but would probably be frustrated with the change in industry and noise and how that affects us.

  7. Luvtrueblood05 says:

I’m quite fascinated with the Tudor period during the reign of Henry VIII of England. Even with all the diplomatic conflicts and everything else in that era, being royalty would be exciting.

I would probably be asked to be the mistress or ‘Lady of the Knight’ so to speak, but it would be challenging to be a vampire and only a commoner, I would after all have to stay out of the light, so where better to rest during the day than in Dover Castle

  8. Casey says:

I’d have to say I’d like to be from the Roman Era. My granddad claims that we can trace our ancestors back to that era (I’m not sure how he knows that…) but he has told me so many stories about that time period that I’d like to go back in time to see if it really was that way.

  9. i would like to have been turned around the turn of the century , all the new knowledge and discoveries. i would like to think i would be a nice vamp. dont like the idea of bitting anyone. well unless its my significant other, lol. already have sieze the night book, its a great and funny read. love valarius and tabitha great couple and great wit. good luck all

  10. Nancy G says:

I would be a vampire in Victorian London and be the one who caught Jack the Ripper and cleaned up the place. I have always wished I could go back there to prevent what he did.

  11. Jessie says:

I would want to be from the Renaissance era. That time has always seemed magical to me. I’d have lived through such difficult times that I would be both tough from my experience and also grateful for the modern world’s conveniences. I would also be very appreciative of men that exude the chivalry of that old world, even though I’d be plenty resourceful enough to take care of myself. 🙂

  12. I would want to be from Ancient Rome. Around the time of Caesar. The Roman Empire was epic and a strange mix of barbaric and civilized. I think starting there and moving through all of my favorite historical events would be incredible. I would probably be a total know-it-all (done-it-all, seen-it-all). After that many years I’d be very detached from the world and I would surely need a very yummy human to help me reconnect. 😀 Preferably one who looks like Joe Manganiello! ;D

  13. Lori V. says:

IF I were a vampire I guess the time period I would choose to be a vampire would be during the woman’s rights movement 1848 to the present. I know we are still moving but I think it would be nice to unite an army of followers male and female to help us get along a little faster. Without any cruel or harsh happenings of course. Would really put the meaning of GLAMOUR to work.

  14. tanya says:

I would want to be a vampire in the future. I think it would be interesting to see what it means to be a vampire in a time where humans are the strongest they’ve ever been and live the longest thy have with tons of scientific and medical advances taking humans closer and closer to immortality. It would probably mean less to be a vampire, and there would be no need to be ‘different’ – you could live in a city with a big night life, drink blood alternatives and easily pass off as a normal human. I think this would cause an uprising against this assimilation, where vampires band together to preserve their history and heritage. I’d like to be a part of that movement 🙂
Hope I win this book! I am OBSESSED with books, and had a hard time surviving the True Blood drought between season 2 and 3… I tried another series but it didn’t cut it, I’d love to try this book!

  15. billismine says:

Can I be from the time of the Roman Empire, and from Rome itself. A time when political debate rubbed shoulders with intrigue, debauchery, style, passion, art and fine architecture.

I would be a liberal minded vampyre with a passion for style and a flair for wild, abandoned sex!

  16. Glada says:

During the roaring twenties. Time of the flapper, dance clubs, beginning of the jazz explosion, freedom from conformity, a period of rapid expansion in the area of the arts and technology. Had 2 amendments (US) the 18th (Prohibition) and 19th (women getting the right to vote) which impacted the country. I would be an easy going vampire who valued and enjoyed music, dance, arts, and freedom of expression.

  17. HotBlooded says:

BTW, you can give my copy to the next person in line if I win. I’ve already got this book autographed..hehehe
Always squee when two of my favorite passions in life come together and share the same space.
Now I’m seriously scratching my head tho, because this means I must have crossed paths with you before Isis..LOL

Okay, back to the matter at hand:
I’d pick the Renaissance era and I’d want to be early to mid 20’s.

    • It is quite possible, HotBlooded. 🙂 Are you a member of Sherri’s BBS? When I was active there, I used the same name that I do here… If not, I’ve only been to Sherri’s Burbank, CA signings and Comic-Con… So if you’ve been there, it’s very possible that we have met. 🙂
