True Blood Season 7: Will Pam and Tara Hook Up?

Or Will Pam Continue Her Search For Eric Northman?

Kristin Bauer van Straten (Pam) and Rutina Wesley (Tara) star in HBO's True Blood Season 6

At he end of HBO’s True Blood Season 5 we saw a passionate kiss between Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and her newly made progeny, Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley). In Season 6, with all the separation between the two of them at vamp camp and a Pam who announced early on in the season that their relationship was not going to be a love story, things looked grim for the hot new pair.

But what about in True Blood’s Season 7? Could their romance bloom now they are free from the claustrophobic environment of vamp camp? Could being able to (briefly) walk in the sun bring them closer together? Or will Pam spend the entire season looking for her maker, Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard)?

Michael Ausiello from TVLine got the opportunity to ask True Blood’s newest showrunner, Brian Buckner, about where the relationship between Pam and Tara is headed. Here is what Buckner had to say:

As the audience heard Pam say in Episode 1, life is long — especially for vampires. She also told Tara that this is not going to be a love story. But I would urge [fans] to be patient. Because if the show delivers on the audience’s expectation every week, that’s not storytelling. Where’s the surprise in that? These [story] threads can be picked up later. I want to be able to tell more interesting, circuitous stories at times and not always deliver on the junk-food promise of the show.

Well, isn’t that interesting? It seems we just have to be a little more patient in this department, but it sure sounds promising.

What do you think? Are you loving the Pam and Tara snark combined into the one relationship? Let us know in the comments below.

Will There be a True Blood Season 8?

Brian Buckner is in Negotiations Over True Blood Season 7 – Is This the End?

Anna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse in HBO's True Blood Season 7 - will there be a True Blood Season 8 though? Some trubie fans were initially surprised to hear that HBO’s True Blood would be renewed for a seventh season. Many citing the confusing story lines as the reason why they were turning off. New showrunner, Brian Buckner, however, took a jumble of story lines left over from True Blood Season 5 and streamlined it into a Season 6 which made many fans tune back in. With the shock ending of the Season 6 finale, many fans are now claiming they won’t be back to see how Brian Buckner fixes everything again.

But will True Blood Season 7 be the final season?

Brian Buckner is not planning to give everything away but he did have this to say to TVLine about the possibility of a True Blood Season 8:

That conversation is happening, but we don’t have an answer yet. I’m being told that I will know – which doesn’t mean that I will tell everybody. But I will know when the writers resume in the room [next month] whether or not we’re wrapping it up or not.

HBO president, Michael Lombardo, has also stated in the past that True Blood will run for as long as there is a story to tell.

With the writers heading back on September 3rd to put their heads together for the Season 7 story lines, it is anyone’s guess as to whether they will be told to wrap things up.

I guess we’ll just have to wait until the announcement in made sometime during Season 7 – #WaitingSucks!

Do you think fans will get to see True Blood Season 8? Let us know in the comments below.

New Series Regulars Announced For True Blood Season 7

Who Has Been Promoted to Series Regulars on True Blood?

true blood season 7With our first Sunday without True Blood Season 6 to look forward to, here’s some good news to cheer you up! It appears that there will be a few more series regulars in HBO’s True Blood Season 7.

It has been confirmed that Alexander Skarsgard (who plays Eric Northman) will be returning in Season 7, although in what sort of a capacity is yet to be seen. Showrunner Brian Buckner first announced he will return, but then backtracked by saying that the way in which he returns could be questionable.

But there are now three more names to add to the line up as series regulars for True Blood Season 7:

  1. Amelia Rose Blaire. Amelia plays newly turned vampire Willa Burrell, the daughter of the anti-vampire, Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) loving Governor Burrell (Arliss Howard). It will be very interesting to see how the dynamics between Willa, her maker Eric Northman, and her vampire sibling Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) play out over Season 7
  2. Karolina Wydra. Wydra played the vampire obssessed with Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten), Violet Mazurski. It seems Jason will be sexually frustrated a while longer with Violet being the ‘hard to get’ kind of vampire.
  3. Luke Grimes. James plays the newest vampire spunk, James. He and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) are currently an item and many fans are excited to be seeing more of James in Season 7

Who do you think will last to see the end of True Blood Season 7? Who’s relationships will last? Let us know in the comments below.

True Blood Season 7: Zombies vs. Vampires?

True Blood Season 6 Ended With a Scene Reminiscent of AMC’s The Walking Dead:

Will it be Zombies vs. Vampires in True Blood Season 7?Is that what HBO have in store for us in True Blood Season 7?

Many fans were left scratching their heads and wondering if they had tuned into AMC’s The Walking Dead when the very last scene of True Blood Season 6 aired. A rabid band of vampires were approaching Bellefleur’s (previously called Merlotte’s) where a large group of Bon Temps residents were attending a special social organized by Sam Merlotte, the new mayor of Bon Temps. This group of ravenous vampires are infected with Hep V. They are sickly with blood running down their chins and moans a-plenty between them. With this, fans immediately took to social media to draw the comparison between the vampires of True Blood and the zombies of The Walking Dead.

But is this what True Blood showrunner, Brian Buckner, has in store for Season 7?

And why are these Hep V infected vampires living longer than Nora (Lucy Griffiths) did when she was first infected?

Here’s what Brian Buckner had to say to TVLine’s Michael Ausiello:

We did say that the virus had mutated, and we get to decide what those mutations are. Perhaps the demand for human blood goes up and that’s the only thing that keeps vampires with Hep V alive… That’s another reason for the time passage. Just like bacteria mutates and that’s why there are antibiotic-resistant strains. So what applied to Nora doesn’t necessarily apply to this gang. And they’re not zombies… In my somewhat limited zombie-genre experience, zombies are not organized. They’re just hunting-killing machines. So what was meant to come across there was that they’re organized, they’re in a formation, they’re hunting, they’re sentient, they can talk. They still have intellect.

Buckner also confirmed with Entertainment Weekly that the Hep V infected vampires are a little different to the vampires we are used to on True Blood:

They’re weaker and driven by a need to eat in a way that the vampires that we’ve come to know are not. They have to drink human blood in larger quantities and more frequently than before.

It also appears that there was concern among the writers that the last scene of True Blood Season 6 would draw The Walking Dead comparisons, something they didn’t necessarily want. They really didn’t want fans thinking they were jumping on the zombie bandwagon. However, with sick vampires on the loose, mutating and looking for human prey, it was hard not to create a scene like this. There was, however, a definite reassurance that True Blood Season 7 would not follow the path of the zombie.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

SPOILER: True Blood Season 7-Will Alcide and Sookie Live Happily Ever After?

Will Alcide and Sookie Become True Blood’s Faerie Tale Romance?:

True Blood's Anna Paquin and Joe Manganiello as Sookie and Alcide
Credit: HBO.com

The Season 6 Finale of True Blood flashed forward 6 months and showed a very happy and in love, Sookie(Anna Paquin) and Alcide(Joe Manganiello). Sookie has sworn off vampires(for maybe the 100th time) so we are sure that Sookie and Alcide will live happily ever after…NOT! Though Alcide is the suitor closest to a human that Sookie has fallen for in the 6 seasons(with the exception of Sam), it makes sense that the storyline would put these two together(since Sam is no longer available).

TVline.com got an exclusive interview with True Blood Show Runner, Brian Buckner and he dished on the Season 7 Alcide/Sookie Scoop!

“The show has flirted with a Sookie and Alcide romance for years. Why was now the right time to pull the trigger on that?
In a world where almost everybody is a creature of some kind, Alcide is the most human of all of our creatures. Now, that’s not to say that it was his most human season. We all felt the same thing that the audience was feeling, which was that Alcide needed to come back to center. So it was that as much as anything else. And it was also that Sookie’s going to put her money where her mouth is and say “no more vampires.” She got into it with Warlow without knowing he was a vampire, so she was trying. But this shows growth for Sookie. I mean, I suppose he’s a hunk, so at least she’s still getting her piece. [Laughs] He’s the most normal, most human, most down-to-earth of any of her suitors. To me, with Eric gone and off on his own story going forward, I think it’s a pretty obvious triangle we’re setting up between Bill and Sookie and Alcide.”

To see the entire interview check out the link below!

I only have two issue with the Sookie/Alcide love story…Didn’t Eric glamour Alcide into never touching Sookie? Wasn’t Sookie supposed to repulse Alcide? I may have missed the un-glamour moment…What do you think Truebies? Is there a contradiction here? Number two, I love the Eric/Sookie/Bill love triangle…not sure the Alcide/Sookie/Bill triangle is going to do it for me!

SPOILER: True Blood’s Season 7-What’s Next For Bill?

Where Does Bill Go From Here?:

True Blood's Stephen Moyer as Bill Compton
Credit: HBO.com

True Blood’s Season 6 took Bill(Stephen Moyer) on a intense journey, as we saw the depth of his character continue to progress. He was the egomancial Billith, then the concerned Father, then the attempted Martyr, and by the finale we saw the side of Bill that we all fell in love with in Season 1.  Billith is no more, and yet the experience will surely live in him and impact future choices he makes. But what can we expect from Season 7? TVline got the dirt with Show Runner Brian Buckner, where he finally had the opportunity to speak out after the Season 6 finale.

When Asked if “Season 7 would be a Reset of sorts for Bill” Brian responds:

“Absolutely. We don’t want Bill to be an a—hole. The question we’re going to be asking this coming season is: Can Bill be forgiven? Because he made his intentions clear. I think Bill doesn’t have a trick up his sleeve this time. I think he’s genuine. The real question is about forgiveness.”

I don’t think that Bill should be the only one headed on a pursuit of forgiveness, after all Faerie Princess Sookie Stackhouse(Anna Paquin) did try to stake him…

So Truebies what do you think? Will Bill get the forgiveness that he seeks in Season 7? Let us know in the comments below!

True Blood Season 7 Spoilers: Is Lettie Mae Really Trying to Poison Tara?

True Blood Season 7 Spoilets Alert! Look Away Now if You Don’t Want to Know:

Adina Porter (Lettie Mae) and Rutina Wesley (Tara) star in HBO's True Blood Season 6In HBO’s True Blood Season 6 finale, we find Tara’s (Rutina Wesley) mom apologising to her daughter for the years of abuse she copped while growing up. This has immediately sent up red flags to the trubie fan base.

Could Lettie Mae (Adina Porter) actually be trying to poison her?

Fans are wondering this after watching the church scene (from True Blood Episode 10, entitled Radioactive) where Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) tries to convince the members of Bon Temps to hook up with a healthy vampire for protection against the Hep V infected mobs that are roaming the area. In this scene, one man jumps up and announces he’d like to be infected with Hep V (which doesn’t kill humans) so he can kill vampires.

Could this be the path Lettie Mae is taking? Could she be killing her daughter rather than nourishing her?

(And if you don’t like spoilers, then don’t read any further.)

Well, True Blood’s showrunner, Brian Buckner, had this to say about that idea:

One thing that I noticed – and I probably shouldn’t read as much as I’ve been reading, but I have been, in terms of audience reaction – is the idea that characters can’t change. I will put to bed one thing for you: this idea that Lettie Mae is trying to poison Tara? It’s absurd. That is genuine. And I realize that on our show, because it’s been so incredibly plot-driven for the past several years, you insert a Big Bad and then have the characters react in the way we expect them to react. That’s sort of what’s been going on. When we let characters change, when we let the show be character-driven, I think people don’t know what to do with that. So with Lettie Mae and Tara, not to say that everything is going to go great, but the conflict is not going to be she’s poisoning Tara.

So there you have it, maybe Tara’s mom finally has changed? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

True Blood Season 7: Alexander Skarsgard WILL Be There!

And Just HOW Much Proding Did it Take For Alexander Skarsgard to Strip off?

Alexander Skarsgard will star as Eric Northman in HBO's True Blood Season 7It appears that the True Blood fan reaction to Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) burning in flames in the season finale of HBO’s True Blood Season 6 is still the talk of the water cooler. Not only that, but many are wondering if they will even tune in to True Blood Season 7 if the tall Viking vampire is no longer present!

Well, TV Line scored an exclusive interview with True Blood’s new showrunner, Brian Buckner, and the short answer is: Eric Northman WILL return in True Blood Season 7. Here’s exactly what he had to say:

I can tell you that Alexander Skarsgard is going to be a part of the next season of True Blood. He will be a series regular.

Phew!

Now that is cleared up, just how easy was it to get Alexander Skarsgard to strip down for the cameras? Well, he’s Swedish, you know, and they are usually quite comfortable with nudity, so apparently Brian Buckner didn’t have to twist his arm – not even a little bit! Getting approval for the scenes after they were shot was a piece of cake also:

Alex Skarsgard was the coolest camper in the world. There’s no conversation with him. He’s Swedish. They’re naked all the time. As a matter of fact, when I saw what we had on camera, I sent him an email that said, “We’re going to lock picture. Are you OK with this?” He said, “No problemo.” That was the conversation. It couldn’t have been easier.

As for how easily Eric Northman will recover for his extreme sunburn, this will not be a cake walk. As far as Buckner is concerned, to have Eric miraculously come out of something like this would be a cop out. And considering how long it took for Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare) to recover from his burning, we may not want to see the Viking naked again any time soon! Although, Buckner did hint at Pam’s (Kristin Bauer van Straten) possible involvement:

Pam has gone off in search of Eric, and maybe she’s going to be the one to find him, y’know?

How do you think Eric Northman will be saved from the sun in True Blood Season 7? Be as creative as you like and let us know in the comments below!

True Blood Season 7: Is Eric Northman Really Dead?

Naked Eric and His Possible Demise is the Talk of the Internet:

Well, HBO’s True Blood Season 6 has sure been a hell of a ride for trubie fans – none other more than the finale, Episode 10 (entitled Radioactive).

So a whole day has passed since we saw that magnificent moment: Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) sunbathing in the snow while reading a book.

It was such a beautiful moment. Team Eric fans around the world squealed in delight.

And then:

Oh no! The horror! Team Eric fans are now screaming in fear as Eric Northman starts to fry. While we are all thinking, ‘oh, surely he’ll run for cover‘, HE BURSTS INTO FLAMES!

Fans around the world went into shock. Most were numb during the rest of the show. But is Eric Northman really dead? Here are the pros and cons:

Pros

  • While Eric Northman caught on fire, we didn’t actually see him end up a pile of ashes. He didn’t explode either
  • Wasn’t Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) looking for her maker? Could she jump in and save him in the knick of time? Would she sacrifice her own life for his in the process?
  • He’s in the snow, so I have three words for you: Stop. Drop. Roll
  • Snow melts when heated, could Eric Northman fall through into an underground ice cavern?
  • Eric could use his super vampire speed to either run to a cave or dig a hole in the snow and bury himself
  • Rumor has it that Alexander Skarsgard (along with some other cast members) are contracted on for seven seasons (this is pure speculation though and has not been confirmed by HBO or its subsiduaries)
  • Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare) successfully survived bad sunburn

Cons

  • Alexander Skarsgard has a hectic movie schedule at the moment – does he have time for True Blood any more?
  • He was standing there burning for such a large amount of time – how long is too long when you’re a vampire on fire?
  • There’s that infamous AOL Entertainment video interview with Kristin Bauer van Straten that had her choking up over having to even think about True Blood without Eric Northman
  • HBO have proven that they will certainly kill off important cast members if it is called for – can anyone remember the red wedding from Game of Thrones this year?

So, what do you think? Will Eric Northman die? Or will we see him alive and well in HBO’s True Blood Season 7? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
