From True Blood Vampires to Dystopia:
Fans of Evan Rachel Wood’s interpretation of the vampire queen of Louisiana, Sophie Anne Leclerq, in True Blood are in for a treat with recent announcement of her return to HBO. It has been confirmed that Wood has signed on for Westworld, an adaptation of Michael Crichton’s 1973 dystopian theme park film. A pilot episode has been commissioned for release in 2015 and also stars Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs). This is the first time Hopkins will appear as a regular character in a television series. The Telegraph released these details on his character:
Hopkins will play Dr Robert Ford, the inspired but aloof director of Westworld, an amusement park of the future where life-like cyborgs provide guests with ultra-realistic simulations of past ages. The park is transformed into a zone of terror when its central computer malfunctions, and forces two visitors into a cat-and-mouse chase with a gun-slinging android cowboy.
In the original movie, Yul Brynner fulfilled the role of the gun-slinging android cowboy.
