New Television Series ‘Being Human’ Premieres January 17th

Being HumanParanormal movies and television shows have been on the rise in recent years, with HBO‘s True Blood leading the way on tv.  If you are looking for a show to help fill the void until our favorite show starts up again, the SyFy Network is premiering its newest series Being Human on Monday January 17th at 9:00pm EST.  The show centers around three roommates, one of which is a vampire, one is a werewolf and one is a ghost.  Cinemablend.com is calling it a cross between Three’s Company and True Blood.

After screening the first three episodes, Cinemablend.com has this to say about the show:

The truth is that Being Human uses sardonic wit, emotional depth, and exciting storylines to create something so much greater than what the premise promises.

As a brit myself, I find this a bit insulting. Its a perfectly wonderful tv series as it is – why bother remaking it? From the looks of things, they live in the same sort of house, Annie even wears the same clothes…
The only difference is everyone looks a little less believable – more muscular. And we’ve lost the irish accent on the vampire. Sad times.

Id seen the commercials for this. I think it looks cool! a Vampire,A Werewolf and a Ghost? Wow! id heard of the British Series..havent seen it,tho.
It would be like Eric,Alcide & Maryann ..All living under 1 roof?? LOL Things like This are increasing in popularity all over the media,it seems! Well,We could use Something to tide us over before the Next season of TB and the last leg of Twilight in Nov. The cast of TB is Awesome! The Sopranos ran for about 7 years…I hope the same for TB!
Anyway This New series looks good. Cant wait to check it out!

Is this the American version of the British show by the same name? I saw it a couple of years ago. Why have they remade it instead of screening the Brit version?

    Wish I had an answer, but in Hollyweird, everything seems to be remade. No idea why.

        I don’t know if you’ve actually followed through with this series but I’ve tried to watch it. Tried. I recently saw a post that said trueblood had bad acting…. regardless of the occasional ‘weak scene’ in TrueBlood the US adaption of Being Human is to television as “the amateurs” is to showing what not to do in film. ….If you do intend to find out more, I highly recommend the UK original which does air on BBC America. There’s a gritty reality in the story; with rich and diverse characters.

I’m a fan of the original British version and don’t usually go for remakes, especially from the US. If it comes to OZ, I will give it a go.

    This definitely looks like an American copy of the excellent British series. One of my friends passed the first season of the British version on to me and I have seen 4 episodes so far. I really like it, and without wanting to be nasty, I would have to say that in most cases, I do prefer the original British version. Of course, I haven’t seen this one yet, and probably won’t in Canada.
