The movie, based on Tanya’s debut book of the same name, will be shown at the San Francisco International Woman’s Film Festival in San Francisco,California, Saturday April 14th at 3pm at the Roxie Theater. In its 8th year, the SFIWFF is billed as a “comprehensive three-day celebration of films directed by women. Tanya confided to us that not everything in the book is in the movie so you will want to pick up the book! “Butterfly Rising” leads off a 3 movie trifecta at the Roxie that night being followed by “All She Can (Benavides Born)” the story of a woman weight lifter trying to win a scholarship to fulfill her life’s dream and “Connected: An Autoblogography About Love, Death & Technology” the tale of our love/hate relationship with technology.
