VIDEO: Sneak Peak at Anna Camp’s Pitch Perfect 2

True Blood‘s Anna Camp Returns for Pitch Perfect 2:

True Bloods Anna Camp stars in Pitch Perfect 2Well, here it is – the first sneak peek trailer for Pitch Perfect 2! Anna Camp returns to the cult classic in the making to play the uptight Aubrey. In Pitch Perfect 2, we find the a cappella group the Barden Bellas entering into an international competition that no American team has ever won. Will they succeed where so many others have failed?

Returning alongside Anna Camp (who played Sarah Newlin in HBO’s True Blood) will be Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, Hana Mae Lee, Skylar Astin, Elizabeth Banks and Adam DeVine. The movie is slated for release on May 15th 2014. The Universal Pictures movie is from a screenplay written by Kay Cannon and Mickey Rapkin. Actor Elizabeth Banks not only stars in the show as Gail, but will be directing as well.

It will be very interesting to see whether Pitch Perfect 2 will live up to the high expectations of the first movie – or will it go the way of most sequels and be a flop? Judging by the video below however, I am guessing we just may have a winner on our hands.

Anna Camp’s ‘Goodbye To All That’ Picked Up By IFC Films

Anna Camp stars as Sarah Newlin in HBO's True Blood Season 7 Episode 3 (entitled 'Fire in the Hole')Anna Camp’s latest movie, Goodbye To All That tells the story of marriage, fatherhood and unexpected divorce in the age of the Internet. While it debuted to good reviews at this years Tribeca Film festival – even receiving the best actor award – it still didn’t have a distributor for North America. Well, it seems IFC Films is willing to take the risk on this movie and has picked up the rights to the movie. They are planning to set a release date for December this year, so we will be able to check out Anna Camp just in time for Christmas. As well as Anna (who also starred as Sarah Newlin in HBO’s True Blood), there is another True Blood actor in this movie; Ashley Hinshaw. Ashley joined HBO’s vampire series in the final season as Bridgette, the girlfriend of Hoyt Fortenberry (Jim Parrack).

Ashley Hinshaw stars as Bridgette in HBO's True BloodGoodbye To All That also stars Michael Chernus, Heather Graham, Heather Lawless, Melanie Lynskey, Audrey Scott, Amy Sedaris and Celia Weston. It is written and directed by Angus MacLachlan. The producers are Mindy Goldberg and Anne Carey, with Mark Clein, Ethan Leder and Angus MacLauchlan listed as executive producers.

Anna Camp to Reprise Ground Floor Role for Season 2

Anna Returns to Her Role as Heather Alongside Skylar Astin:

Anna Camp stars as Sarah Newlin in HBO's True Blood Season 6For fans of HBO’s True Blood, it will be nice to see resident baddie, Anna Camp (who played Sarah Newlin in the vampire series) return to yet another juicy role. This time it will be in TBS’s Ground Floor. In Season 1 we saw her in only one episode playing the role of Heather, an extremely competitive ex-girlfriend of Brody (who is played by Anna’s real life boyfriend and Pitch Perfect co-star, Skylar Astin). It seems fans couldn’t get enough of Anna’s role and she is set to return to the show in Season 2 which is set to debut on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 10/9c.

TV Guide had this exclusive scoop on Heather’s return in Season 2:

It is revealed that Heather was chosen to run the Hong Kong office after Brody bailed on the job. However, Heather’s experience turns out to be a cautionary tale of what might have happened to Brody if he had taken the gig and left Jenny (Briga Heelan).

As well as a return to the small screen in Ground Floor, Anna is reprising her role of Aubrey in Pitch Perfect 2 which is due out in theaters next year. if that isn’t enough of an Anna Camp fix, then you can check out her as the voice of Princess Ivy in Disney’s Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy this November.

True Blood’s Anna Camp to Play a Villain Again

This Time She Will Be a Disney Villain, Rather Than an HBO One:

Anna Camp stars as Sarah Newlin in HBO's True BloodSarah Newlin (played by actress Anna Camp) was the villain of HBO’s True Blood that we all loved to hate. Over several seasons she would appear, disappear, reinvent herself, and then reappear all over again to cause havoc with the regular cast members of the vampire series. Now, with True Blood meeting the true death once and for all, it seems actress Anna Camp has set her sights on playing a new villain – a Disney villain!

Disney Junior’s Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy will hit our TV screens in November 2014 on the Disney channel. Anna will be the voice of Princess Ivy, a once exiled princess who is intent on turning the land of Enchancia from glorious color into bland and boring black and white.

You can check out the images of Anna Camp’s character and the movie poster for Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy below:

Anna Camp on Being True Blood’s Sarah Newlin

Sarah Got What She Deserved According to Anna Camp:

true-blood-season-7-episode-10-sarah-ericSarah Newlin (played by Anna Camp) was one of those characters truebies seriously loved to hate. Many fans wanted to see her die a hideous death in Season 7 of HBO’s True Blood – Anna Camp included! Surprisingly though, Sarah survived the series, something Anna never expected after all the atrocities she inflicted on the vampires at vamp camp in Season 6.

Considering Sarah Newlin was the kind of person who followed many different belief systems and managed to convince herself she was being righteous rather than sadistic was being a blood donor slave a fate worse than death? Or did she deserve redemption? Anna weighs in on this:

It’s hard to say. Living in the character, I justified everything she did. It’s hard to say when you’re playing someone like that. I mean, yes, I did try to kill all of them in Season 6, so technically I deserved punishment …She was convicted in what she was believing in at the moment. I don’t know if consciously she was trying to get out of trouble when she turned into a Buddhist – but I think she truly, truly believed that she was. On some subconscious level, it’s a way of exonerating herself from all of the guilt that she felt. She’s just this complete narcissist …it’s basically her world and she’s living in it and that’s OK.

While Sarah ended up a captive at the end, there were many scenes during Season 7 that were very demanding physically on the actress. For the scene involving Sarah being thrown around by Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard), Anna had to wear a harness:

We spent three days shooting those scenes and when I saw it in the episode, they cut so much from what we shot. It’s really fascinating. I was exhausted shooting those things at like four in the morning, because they’re all night shoots …It’s definitely not the most comfortable thing. It feels like you have a permanent wedgie for two hours. Even when you’re out of it, it still feels like it’s there.

However, according to Anna, the hardest scene to shoot was actually Sarah’s last scene in the True Blood finale. She had to hold her arms up for so long that she lost the feeling in them!

VIDEO: True Blood’s Anna Camp on Being a Fourth Grade Drug Dealer

Anna Camp’s First Acing Gig Was as a Drug Dealer!

Anna Camp stars as Sarah Newlin in HBO's True Blood Season 7 Episode 3 (entitled 'Fire in the Hole')True Blood’s Anna Camp (who plays Sarah Newlin in the HBO vampire series) has been acting for a long time. But in this hilarious video interview she did with Conan O’Brien recently, she talks about her very first acting gig – that of a drug dealer! She was only in the fourth grade, but the school decided a stage production on the dangers of drugs would be a great way to get the discussion started on the war against drugs.

Anna lets us know what a fourth grade drug dealer would wear to be totally ‘hardcore’ while selling bags of jellybeans. As well as that she discusses the fact that she always seems to play the villain and just how cathartic it is to act out pummeling someone to death with a shoe.

VIDEO: True Blood’s Sarah Newlin Talks Nudity

Anna Camp Talks to Conan O’Brien About Awkward Broadway Nudity:

Anna Camp stars as Sarah Newlin in HBO's True BloodRecently Anna Camp (who plays Hep-V antidote Sarah Newlin in HBO’s True Blood Season 7) chatted to Conan O’Brien about nudity – in particular, acting and being nude in front of your parents. True Blood is notorious for the amount of flesh it displays in each episode, that goes without saying, but how do you react to your parents watching your work on a show like True Blood? For Anna, it was the orgy scenes in Season 2 that got her grandmother to stop watching, but, for her parents, who had already seen her naked on stage before, it wasn’t so much of a big deal to them.

But what if people are bringing binoculars and whipping out cameras when you are performing naked on stage? How does one ever prepare themselves for that sort of exposure? Check out the video below to find out what Anna Camp thinks about this issue:

True Blood Season 7: Get Ready For a Southern-Off Between Pam & Sarah

Anna Camp Tells Fans to Prepare For Battle – Southern-Style:

Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) are set for a Southern-off in HBO's True Blood Season 7With the net quickly closing in on Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp), it appears Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard), Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and Mr. Gus (Will Yun Lee) may have their hands firmly on Sarah in Sunday’s upcoming Episode of HBO’s True Blood. But don’t expect Sarah to go down without a fight in Episode 8 (entitled Almost Home) – even if she is claiming to be the Messiah. It seems there will be an old-style battle of the Southern wits before Sarah possibly meets her maker. According to Anna Camp, Sarah and Pam will have a run in some time soon:

Pam hates my guts, and she is definitely not holding any of that back. She is one of the actresses that I have always wanted to have scenes with on this show. You see these two Southern belles who are pretty girly, and we have some great one-liners. There’s a handful of scenes that I’m really excited about seeing because she’s awesome to work with.

Who can’t wait for this clash? But will Sarah finally meet with a grisly end after a Hep-V antidote is synthesized? No one is spilling the beans on that Season 7 secret, but it does look likely with Anna Camp having said Sarah ‘definitely deserves to die‘ in several interviews.

True Blood Season 7: Sarah Newlin is the New Antidote – ‘Here for the Good of Mankind’

Could Sarah Newlin Turn From Resident Baddie to Ridding the World of Hep-V?

Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) gets a new religion and a new haircolour in HBO's True Blood Season 7 Episode 3 Fire in the HoleOn the one hand, in Season 6 of HBO’s True Blood, Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) played a large part in developing the Hep-V virus that is now ravaging Season 7. On the other hand, in Episode 5 (entitled Karma) of this season we discovered that there was a Hep-V antidote – and that Sarah drank it! Effectively she is now a living breathing Hep-V antidote – but will she use her ‘gift’ for good or bad?

According to Anna Camp (who spoke to Vulture recently), her character is bordering on the edge of becoming full-blown crazy. And, added to that, her latest ‘religion’, Buddhism now has given her the notion she is absolved from all her previous sins:

I think when she goes to the retreat, she realizes these things, and then she starts to believe that God has this master plan for her, because ultimately, she still believes that God or the Buddha or whoever, this higher power, has called on her. She believes someone made her drink it. God gave her the idea to drink it, so now she’s this vessel of love and light. She thinks she’s here to save her sister and humankind, just like Jesus Christ. It’s really messed up! [Laughs.] She’s completely psychotic. She’s lost her mind for Jesus. In this world, I am the new Messiah. She believes she’s been sent to save both the vampire race and the human race. I’m not trying to destroy them anymore. She completely believes this was all meant to be and this all happened for a reason, and she’s just so desperate to get out. She’s a very desperate woman, and I think she’s about to get her comeuppance.

While she may view herself as a messiah, there are still countless threats on her life; Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) and Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten), the Yakuza, Mr. Gus (Will Yun Lee) and all the Hep-V infected vampires left in the world. Anna sees Eric and Pam, however, as Sarah’s biggest threat. After all, their vendetta is more personal than most. They saw just how evil Sarah Newlin can be after they witnessed her brutal torture at Vamp Camp in Season 6.

So will Sarah be able to talk her way out of her current sticky situation or will True Blood Season 7 claim her life?

COMIC CON 2014: True Blood Cast Hints at a ‘Not Happily Ever After’

Are Eric and Pam True Blood’s Version of ‘True Love’ Then?

True to the End HBO True Blood Season 7 promo posterLast weekend at San Diego’s Comic Con 2014, Zap2It got to talk to the cast of HBO’s True Blood about things such as true love and happy ends and do they exist in the Sookieverse. So how do the residents of Bon Temps and Shreveport view love in this TV series?

According to Kristin Bauer van Straten, who plays vampire Pam, she feels her character’s relationship with her maker, Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) transcends the idyllic notion of true love – after all they have been together for more than a hundred years. She suggests that their love is perfect and unconditional after all their time together.

Nelsan Ellis (who plays the flamboyant Lafayette Reynolds) thinks that his character could definitely find true love. And then immediately backs it up with a ‘but we’ll have to wait and see‘ stock response. Chris Bauer (Andy Bellefleur), on the other hand, believes his character has come to forgive vampires and has had the realization that vendettas are actually pointless. Once he discovers this, he also finds out that he is no longer alone in this word any more.

As for Carrie Preston (Arlene Fowler-Bellefleur) and Anna Camp (who plays god-shopper and resident baddie, Sarah Newlin), both women agree that Arlene could possibly be the only person who could talk some sense into Sarah. But apparently the pair never get a scene together, so it is a moot point. Although, this would indicate that Sarah Newlin’s story line could be held entirely in Dallas for this final season. And what a shame too, that is one southern scrag fight I would have loved to see!

Stephen Moyer’s (who plays vampire Bill Compton who is currently suffering from an accelerated dose of Hep-V) words are possibly the most telling though. When asked about whether there will be a happy ending for anyone in True Blood Season 7, his reply was:

I’m not sure that’s how Alan Ball conceived things. Even though Alan’s not running the show any more, happily ever after is something that we have always known on our show that as soon as something good happens to a character, something bad is about to happen. So, do you ever know? Are they ever happy? I don’t know.

True Blood Season 7: Sarah Newlin Bumps Into [SPOILER]

Find Out Who Sarah Newlin Will Meet Up With Unexpectedly in Season 7:

Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) gets a new religion and a new haircolour in HBO's True Blood Season 7 Episode 3 Fire in the HoleFor fans of HBO’s True Blood, the return of Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) was met with mixed emotions. Some were glad to see this regular True Blood baddie return for Season 7, while others just wanted her dead already!

Regardless of your stance on Sarah Newlin, Anna Camp told TVLine there will be an unexpected encounter with her ex flame/nemesis, Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) coming up soon:

It’s not in a way that you would expect. It actually can be pretty funny and pretty sad. It’s very unexpected the way that I end up interacting with Jason this time around.

As for how that scene will eventuate, Anna Camp doesn’t elaborate, but she had the following to say about her story line involving Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) and Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) hunting her down:

She’s got Pam and Eric hunting her basically and the Yakuza…this season is all about survival. We’re going to see what it’s really like when she’s pushed to the end of her rope.

Or, perhaps when she’s pushed to the edge of her stiletto? When asked about whether there will be another crazy death scene like the one where she kills a woman using nothing but her shoe in Season 6, Anna told E!Online:

No! [Laughs.] This season, Sarah’s gone Buddhist. I think she’s left all of high heels in Texas… Maybe, we’ll see what happens if [Eric, Pam and Sarah] cross paths. I can’t say too much, but there will be some really fun scenes that hopefully people will be on the edge of their seats about.

True Blood Season 7: Sarah Newlin – Crazy AND a Brunette!

Anna Camp Discusses Her Upcoming Role in True Blood’s Final Season:

Anna Camp stars as Sarah Newlin in HBO's True Blood Season 7 Episode 3 (entitled 'Fire in the Hole')Fans of the recurring baddie we love to hate, Sarah Newlin, all squealed in excitement at her anticipated return in Episode 3 (entitled Fire in the Hole) of HBO’s True Blood Season 7. However, her return heralded a new hair color for the usually perky – albeit crazy – blonde.

Anna Camp, the actress who portrays Sarah Newlin, discusses being a brunette in the final season of True Blood:

It’s actually a really well made wig, and I adore it. I’m naturally a brunette, so it’s been awesome—no pun intended—to go back to my roots. I walk by a mirror and don’t realize it’s me. I think it’s such a sexy hair color, and I’ve actually thought about going for it in real life.

Besides the obvious changes, what else is in store for Sarah in Season 7? Anna had this to tease about her character:

For Sarah, this season is about survival. She’s definitely on the run because Pam and Eric are hunting her down. She’s left her high heels behind and exchanged her business suits for yoga pants. She’s on the brink of going insane, so it will be an exciting season.

True Blood Season 7: Stephen Moyer and Anna Camp Tweet About Their Final Scenes

Will Bill Compton and Sarah Newlin be the Last Standing?

Anna Camp stars as Sarah Newlin in HBO's True Blood Season 7Probably not, but you never know with HBO these days (anyone remember the red wedding in Game of Thrones?). But thanks to Twitter, both stars have confirmed they have completed their last ever scenes for HBO’s True Blood Season 7. And considering shooting apparently winds up on July 9, it seems both actors may be surviving until the very end of the show.

Anna Camp’s tweet doesn’t actually give a lot away, in fact she doesn’t even really confirm that she is even talking about True Blood except to use the phrase ‘Goodbyes Suck‘:

But if this tweet is in relation to her final scene with True Blood, then we can assume – unless they were reshooting a scene – that Sarah Newlin gives being the last person standing a red hot go! And how about Stephen Moyer? It seems the last scene he filmed for True Blood was in Bill Compton’s bedroom:

I wonder what happens in there? A happy ending for him and Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) or does he come to a bloody end?

True Blood Season 7: Sarah Newlin to Return in Episode 3

Sarah Newlin Will Also Bring Her Family Along!

Anna Camp stars as vicious Sarah Newlin in HBO's True Blood Season 6In HBO’s True Blood Season 6, it seems that the person everyone loved to hate the most was Steve Newlin’s (Michael McMillian) crazy ex-wife, Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp). We saw her nearly lose her life at the hand of her ex-lover, Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten), but, after showing her some remorse, she lived to fight another battle. And it appears this battle will commence in Episode 3 (entitled Fire in the Hole) of True Blood Season 7.

TVLine spilled the beans earlier this week with the following information:

My favorite vampire exterminator is back in this week’s episode. And as we told you back in February, the show will be introducing us to Sarah’s Texas socialite parents and angry, bitter, gothed-out sister at some point this season (perhaps as early as Sunday).

So we get a two for the price of one deal it seems, with Sarah and her sister making appearances in this, the final season of True Blood.
