afterparty-interviewWinner Anna Paquin and the cast of “True Blood” celebrate at HBO’s after party. Most of the cast joined in for a quick interview at the Golden Globes after part to celebrate Anna’s win.

This is a very nice interview with the cast and they all looked so great! We missed Ryan Kwanten in the interview, but there are other pre-show interviews we will post shortly.

It’s so awesome to see the cast together and we’re so proud of Anna’s win!

Canadian Press Loves True Blood

trueblood14Canadian entertainment writer, Constance Droganes for CTV.ca television takes a look at the nominees for Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards and discusses the surprised nominations and snubs.  While she goes through all the categories the one that caught my eye was her appraisal of  Alan Ball’s HBO TV series True Blood’s nomination for Best TV Drama.  Constance Droganes lists “True Blood” as one of the surprise nominees for this year’s Golden Globe, but seems to have high praise for its inclusion for a Golden Globe.  She states “HBO’s juicy new vampire drama bit into our consciousness in a big way in 2008. Scoring two Golden Globe nominations for Best Television Series and Best Actress (Anna Paquin), this fiendishly good romp in the fictional town of Bon Temps, Louisiana kicked the Globes’ usual contenders to the curb. And why not? Hot vampire hunks, the luscious heroine Sookie Stackhouse (Paquin), earthlings and bloodsucklings getting it on…Yes, all that bloody good tomfoolery hooked viewers and Globe voters, leaving them hungry for more.” We just have to wait and see how the Hollywood Foreign Press Association voted.

We Will See A Vampire Hotel in Season 2 of True Blood

We still have to wait several months before Alan Ball’s hit HBO TV series “True Blood” returns for Season 2, but what we do know is that Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Sookie (Anna Paquin) will be traveling to Dallas. Therefore, they will have to stay somewhere during their time there. It seems that in season 2 viewers will have their first look at what a vampire hotel looks like. These hotels are specially designed to take care of the needs of vampires to ensure they have a restful, peaceful and safe place to stay during their visits. Although this particular vampire hotel is in Shreveport and not in Dallas they all tend to have to same basic amenities. So let’s take a look at what a vampire hotel may look like when we watch season 2 of “True Blood.”

Golden Globe Gifts for Nominees

loreal_golden_globes_compactThe actors and actresses that get nominated for the Golden Globes not only walk away with the possibility of an award but also some gifts from the various sponsors of the show. This year the nominees for Best Actress in the Drama and Comedy categories will be given a beautiful L’Oreal Paris “good luck charm” mirrored compacts designed by Carelle from the HBO’s Luxury Lounge gifting suite. The compact called “Harmony” made of lemon citrine and pale green quartz stones set in sterling silver plated with 18K yellow gold and diamond details in honour of the Golden Globes is valued at $3650 each. The stones were chosen for their “special meanings and power” for calming, balancing, positive energy and attracting good luck. Hopefully the compact will bring Anna Paquin good luck and help her win the category of Best Actress in a TV Drama for her work on Alan Ball’s HBO TV series “True Blood.”

One of these compacts will be auctioned off through eBay with all proceeds going to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. The auction starts off with an opening bid of $500 and will run from January 11th through January 18th. If you wish to bid on this item please click this link.

Countdown for True Blood at the Golden Globes

Anna & AlanThe countdown has begun to the Golden Globes and the anticipation for True Blood and Anna Paquin winning in their categories is growing. Many websites have already been making their picks for who will be taking the Golden Globes. Since this site is dedicated to “True Blood” we, of course, want Alan Ball‘s hit HBO TV series “True Blood“ to take the Best TV Drama Series award and Anna Paquin to win Best Actress in a TV Drama Series. Some websites have made predictions who they believe will win the awards. According to The Feed at tampabay.com they feel that Anna Paquin will win the Best Actress category because of her work on “True Blood” and her previous Oscar win making her a strong candidate. However, they do not mention “True Blood” but we know that “True Blood” should win and we would all love to see the whole cast up on stage accepting the award.

True Blood Gets High Praise

trueblood30_thumbMatthew Gilbert from the Boston Globe reviews Alan Ball’s HBO TV series “True Blood” and looks at the dynamics on the show and interesting metaphors and analogies.  The article focuses on Bill and the difficulties he suffers not only for being different but because of the townpeople’s disapproval of his relationship with Sookie.  The show may be about vampires, shapeshifters and a telepathic waitress but it divulges deeper into the under belly of society and the misunderstanding and suspicion that people face and see in others in real life. The author of the article gives high praise to Stephen Moyer for his portrayal of Bill Compton for his ability to give so much depth to his character.  He states that the chemistry between Bill and Sookie is so compelling to watch that you feel for them and truly feel they belong together.
