New York Comic Con: Check Out True Blood’s Lara Pulver

Lara Pulver Discusses Da Vinci’s Demons:

Lara Pulver as Claudine S4 Ep3It will be slim pickings for fans of HBO’s True Blood at this year’s New York Comic Con. The only True Blood star appearing will be Lara Pulver (who starred as the fairy Claudine Crane in Seasons 3-5 of the vampire series). She will be appearing on the panel for Da Vinci’s Demons, a TV series which follows the “untold” story of Leonardo Da Vinci. In this show, Lara stars as Clarice Orsini, the wife of Lorenzo de’ Medici, who is both seductive and politically minded. You can view the full details on this appearance below:

STARZ will present a first look at David S. Goyer’s highly anticipated adventure drama, “Da Vinci’s Demons,” at a panel on Saturday, October 13th from 1:45pm to 2:45pm in RM 1A21 as part of New YorkComic Con. Da Vinci’s DemonsGoyer will be joined by series star Tom Riley (“Monroe,” I Want Candy), who plays Leonardo Da Vinci, and costars Laura Haddock (The Inbetweeners Movie, “Honest,” Captain America: The First Avenger) and Lara Pulver (“True Blood,” “Sherlock,” “Robin Hood”). Following the panel Goyer and cast will sign autographs.

“Da Vinci’s Demons” is a historical fantasy, following the ‘untold’ story of the world’s greatest genius during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence. Brilliant and passionate, the twenty-five year old Leonardo Da Vinci is an artist, inventor, swordsman, lover, dreamer and idealist. As a free thinker, with intellect and talents that are almost superhuman, he struggles to live within the confines of his own reality and time. He begins to not only see the future, but invent it.

“Da Vinci’s Demons” is the first project to enter production under the multi-year agreement between Starz and BBC Worldwide Productions. Goyer, co-writer of blockbuster and critically-acclaimed films Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, and writer of the upcoming Man of Steel, is showrunner. Julie Gardner is Executive Producer, along with BBC Worldwide Productions’ Head Jane Tranter. Production began this summer and Starz will premiere an eight-episode first season in the U.S. in 2013.

Also, if you are a Deborah Ann Woll fan (who starred as baby vampire Jessica Hamby), you might want to check out the Marvel panel for all the latest news on Deborah’s new TV series, Daredevil.

Deborah Ann Woll Thought Jessica Would End Up With Jason

The True Blood Finale Surprised Deborah Ann Woll:

Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll) and Hoyt Fortenberry (Jim Parrack) get married in HBO's True Blood Season 7 finale Episode 10 (entitled 'Thank You')For Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll), HBO’s True Blood ended with a wedding, but not to the person Deborah thought Jessica would be marrying. In Episode 10 (entitled Thank You) we find Jessica having her happily ever after with Hoyt Fortenberry (Jim Parrack), the man she glamoured a couple of seasons back after their relationship soured. But, according to Deborah, she thought the story would end a little differently:

If I’m really honest, I thought she’d end up with Jason [Ryan Kwanten]. It seemed the way it was going, and I also was so fond of that storyline and so fond of Ryan. This took me a little by surprise. I’d been trotting down one path, and I had to make a change… [The writers] had mentioned to me they were planning on bringing [Hoyt] back before the season started, and there would be romantic ties. I assumed that it would be a triangle ending in a different way.

While the marriage to Hoyt was a spontaneous one in order to allow her maker, Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) walk her down the aisle before he succumbed to Hep-V, Deborah Ann Woll had this to say about Jessica’s growth over seven seasons:

She was a girl who lived mostly on impulse when she was younger and let her feelings have her do whatever she needed to do in the moment. She had very little control. Certainly now, I think, she thinks before she leaps, and she understands when something is a vampire impulse that might not work in the modern world. That’s why this first episode was so interesting for her. It put her up against the one thing she couldn’t resist. In the end, I wanted her to be victorious.

Jessica managed to make it to the True Blood finale, but was Deborah ever concerned she might be killed off?

You worry a lot because it would be very heart-wrenching to many characters if Jessica died. Imagine the storyline for Bill if Jessica died. They could kill me off and have a field day with the results of that. I was always very nervous because it seems like such an emotionally powerful storyline.

What did you think of Jessica’s decision to chose Hoyt over Jason? Let us know your thoughts by commenting below!

True Blood’s Deborah Ann Woll Hints at Bill’s Fate

Will Bill Compton Survive the True Blood Finale?

Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll) gets released in HBO's True Blood Season 7 Episode 9 (entitled 'Love is to Die')With such little time until the very last episode of HBO’s True Blood ever, there still seems such a long wait to discover whether Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) lives or dies. Deborah Ann Woll, however, was recently interviewed by Zap2It about the True Blood Finale and let slip a few intriguing hints about Bill’s future – or lack of it in Episode 10 (entitled Thank You). The first one occurs when she is asked about the evolution of her character, Jessica Hamby (who is the progeny of Bill):

By the end, and I think it’s illustrated best in her relationship with Bill, she needed a strong father figure and she had that in Bill over the last six, seven years. Now that he’s leaving — and there’s more growing to do, certainly, in the last episode, and we’ll see how that relationship pans out — but she asked to be released in [Episode] 9, and I think there’s something in that that says, “I am a grown woman. I’m capable of taking care of myself. I need you to recognize that, and recognize my independence.”

Now that he’s leaving‘ – as in dying? Or just moving towns? Sounds a bit ominous to me.

The second interesting snippet of information comes when Deborah is discussing why Jessica wanted to be released from Bill:

He chose to go through something that’s going to be very painful for everyone around him, including himself. I don’t know that Jessica wants to have to experience that. I think that’s a very human and universal feeling. When someone you care about and love so deeply is going to be in pain, I think we get scared and we want to push it away. In that moment, she was so hurt and just thinking, “I can’t sit and watch him turn black and blue and bleed and die. I just can’t do it, and I need to be divorced from that.” Without giving too much away, that’s something that Jessica’s going to have to confront in the finale in terms of how she’s going to either choose or not to reconcile with Bill based on what he chooses to do with his time.

So Jessica will have to make a choice whether to reconcile with Bill? To me this sounds like Bill really will go through with his plan to let the Hep-V run it’s course. Or will he be reprieved at the very last minute perhaps?

The third quote from Deborah comes when she discusses all those Bill flashbacks, what they all really mean and whether there is still the chance he might chose life over Hep-V:

He has room to change his mind. I would point out to people that we spent a lot of time this season looking at Bill’s human life. There’s a reason for that. I think there’s a strong reason for why we’ve seen how much he loved his human family, how much he missed of them. If you think back to Lorena, she basically made him give them up. He lost so much when he became a vampire, and I think that’s why we’ve seen him struggle so much with being one. I think Jessica is a part of his salvation in that a little bit. I think he loves her very dearly, and it was his chance to have a family in the way that he misses them, but I can understand Bill not really wanting to continue this — just for his own personal reasons, beyond the idea that maybe he’s causing Sookie or Jessica or people pain. There’s maybe more peace for him in death than there is in continuing to be a vampire, perhaps.

Hmmm… it really does sound like Bill definitely wants to die. But will he? Or is this just a very cleverly worded interview to make us truebies think Bill really is going to meet the true death?

COMIC CON 2014: Deborah Ann Woll Talks About Her True Blood Reunion

San Diego’s Comic Con is a Great Place For a True Blood Reunion!

Deborah Ann Woll stars as Jessica Hamby in HBOs True Blood Season 7At this year’s Comic Con in San Diego, True Blood actress Deborah Ann Woll (who plays Jessica Hamby) got a final chance to catch up with the cast of HBO’s vampire series. It is a cast and crew that she feels are more like family and friends than any other movie or TV show she has worked on so far. While it has only been a few short weeks since the cast and crew wrapped up the final filming of the show, it still felt like a reunion for Deborah!

Speaking of reunions – or, more to the point, unions – what did Deborah have to say about a certain recent union between her character, Jessica, and Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten)? And how did she think Violet (Karolina Wydra) would react:

You can kind of see she is not happy about it and I don’t think Violet is someone to let anything go. So there’ll definitely be some drama there.

When she finds out she is talking to her followers, Violet mocks her by asking,

“Do these shoes look good with my outfit? Does my boyfriend like my hair?”

Violet then pulls Jessica down a peg by comparing her blogging to the zealots in  the days of the Crusades.

“Religious zealots burned my village to the ground, killing every man woman and child that did not agree to accept their truth”.

Only to give her the ultimate compliment and say;

“…I never saw you as the leader type, Impressive.”

True Blood Season 6 Finale Spoilers: The Stakes Are High!

Who Will Die? Who Will Sookie End up With?

Robert Kazinsky (Warlow / Ben Flynn) and Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) star in the HBO True Blood Season 6 finaleTruebie fans are frantically counting down the hours to HBO’s True Blood Season 6 finale. And there are literally just mere hours to go until all our True Blood questions are answered for this season (and more questions raised to keep us wondering until True Blood Season 7).

Searching the web today, this is what TrueBloodNet have found for you in relation to the True Blood Season 6 finale:

  • According to Lauren Bowles (who plays Holly Cleary), things will be shaken up considerably to ready fans for True Blood Season 7:

The end of this season, I think, is going to surprise everyone. I love the direction that it goes in — I’m not sure if everyone will — but I do. And I can promise that you won’t be bored. It really takes the show and blows it up in a way that will make everyone clamor for season seven.

  •  As for her relationship with Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer), she is less optimistic about the outcome. As she points out, happy couples don’t last very long on True Blood. So it looks like we’ll just have to enjoy their happiness for as long as it lasts. Perhaps, with the possibility of Andy confronting Jessica Hamby this week will be the beginning of the end for this pair?
  • While there are expected to be more deaths in Episode 10 (entitled Radioactive) of True Blood, showrunner Brian Buckner says it won’t be as bloody as Episode 9 (entitled Life Matters). It will, however, have a bit of a time jump.
  • As a result of the time jump, we will see the first half of the episode dealing with a Warlow (Robert Kazinsky) who is becoming less patient with Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin). Considering Warlow was billed as being the big bad guy this season, this is a little concerning to hear. How will Sookie fare? And in what state will she enter True Blood Season 7: human or vampire?
  • The second part of Episode 10 will help to draw the characters back to Bon Temps and set the scene for Season 7. According to Deborah Ann Woll (who plays Jessica Hamby):
We have a couple of scenes at the end of this season where we were all there. It was amazing to see, like, the 20 cast chairs lined up with names of people I only see once a month.
  • Brian Buckner has also confirmed we will see Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) make at least one more appearance in the True Blood finale. It could possibly be a nude scene too:

There’s definitely something for the ladies and the gay men. We might see a certain body part.

However, considering we saw Eric heal Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) in Episode 9, it is possible this scene may just be a figment of Jason’s imagination!

Let us know what you think will go down in the season finale of HBO’s True Blood Season 6 by commenting below.

True Blood: Who will survive the Apocalypse?

Deborah Ann Woll Talks About Her Loss of Vampire Faith:

Deborah Ann Woll stars as Jessica Hamby in HBO's True Blood Season 6, Episode 7, entitled 'In the Evening'

HBO’s True Blood Season 6 has seen the great state of Louisiana declaring war on vampires, Tru Blood is almost gone, internment camps for the vamps, and our favourite cast of characters are going through some really trying times.

Bill (Stephen Moyer) has to work out a way to save his friends from the prophecy he has foreseen, and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) had all but given up on “life” after draining the three of the four fairy girls. TV Guide spoke with Deborah Ann Woll to get the scoop on what was coming up.

We have seen Jessica dealing with so much regret:

She’s suffered from self-hate and self-doubt all along, so this is just a confirmation of all those fears; those fears that she is a monster because of these dark urges that she has. She thinks she’s going to die, that’s what Bill foresaw. She understands that’s what’s going to happen. She’ll save as many of her friends as she can, but I don’t think she feels like she has to work too hard for herself because it’s not as bad if she doesn’t exist. That’s a pretty dark place for her to be.

We have been introduced to James (Luke Grimes) this season, a young and handsome suitor for Jessica that is not human like Hoyt (Jim Parrack) or Jason (Ryan Kwanten). It’s as though she is finally accepting of the vampire that she is and James is going to continue to be a part of that.

And along with that, letting go of some of the old lovers too like Jason Stackhouse who has come to save her in the internment camp putting himself at great risk:

She cares deeply for him and feels like she’s hurt him more than he ever deserved to be. That scene of her letting him go was like, “I’m not worth it. Get out of here.” We’ll see if they’re able to come out of this.

And finally what does Jessica think about the prophecy coming true?

She doesn’t want to take any active steps towards saving herself, but she doesn’t feel that her friends deserve to die and that anybody should die risking themselves for her. She’s of the mindset that she will help people out to the extent that it saves vampire kind, but she’s trying to come to terms that it may not save her in the end.

So, do you think Jessica will survive?

It appears that the 2013 Comic-Con was yet again a success for the True Blood cast and fans! Even though our two favourite male vamps were absent( Alexander Skarsgard, and Stephen Moyer) the panel pulled through with lots of insight on the remainder of the season! The panel included Anna Paquin, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell, Rutina Wesley, Nelsan Ellis, Deborah Ann Woll, Kristin Bauer van Straten, Joe Manganiello, Anna Camp, Michael McMillian and Rob Kazinsky. The True Blood Panel was moderated by TV Guides Kate Hahn.

The True Blood segment kicked off with a video clip of teasers for the 2nd half of the current Season 6. Truebloodnet.com has posted this video if you are eager to check it out!

Here are a few favourite questions and responses:

“Ryan Kwanten on Jason’s “noble” quest to find his parents’ killer – “There’s a lot more in store for Jason – he gets real crazy, real soon. He likes to think he’s Rambo, but fails miserably!”

Deborah Ann Woll on Jessica’s self loathing following season six’s dark twists: “Jessica’s going to have to pay dearly within her own heart for what happened – it’s going to take a long time for her to forgive herself.”

True Blood newbie Rob Kazinsky is bowled over by the reception he’s getting from Comic-Con fans. He also promises we’ll get both light and dark from Warlow this season. “You’re going to see some gnarly stuff!”

Buckner promises that True Blood will “return to its roots” at the end of this season, returning focus to its core characters: “We’re really going to make it feel like we’re coming home.”
