Alexander Skarsgard From True Blood Video Interview – Part 1

alexnameAlexander Skarsgard From True Blood was interviewed by Rebecca Murray from About.com at the 2009 Film Independent’s Spirit Awards held on Saturday, February 21, 2009. Alex discusses with her his role as the 1000 year old viking vampire, Eric Northman in the show and what we may expect for season 2. He states that the story will follow book 2 loosely and they will be going to Dallas. He says that he is enjoying playing the role of Eric and that it is great working with everyone on the set of True Blood and Alan Ball has a very laidback style which is great. He goes on to mention the additional sets to be added to True Blood are “really cool”. One of the questions that most of Alex’s fans want to hear is how does he feel about the huge fan base that has developed for him. Alex being quite humble states that he was not aware of the huge fan base and did not expect it coming into True Blood. Does he ever check online to see what people are saying about him? No, he says because if nine comments are positive and one is negative, it is that one that is going to stick with him. On a personal note, that is why True Blood fans should praise all the actors on the show for the superb work they do in providing fans such a tantalizing experience watching True Blood. True Blood in Central Europe

true_blood-showAlan Ball’s successful HBO TV Series “True Blood” will be hitting the airwaves in Central Europe broadcasting Season 1 in Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and Macedonia.

European HBO feels confident that “True Blood” will be as successful in Central Europe as it has been in North America because of the history of the region. Stories of Dracula and vampires originated in the area and is well embedded in the folklore of the region. Ondrej Zach, VP of programming & acquisitions, states:

“We’re confident because we’ve seen the results in the United States,” Zach says. “We are getting a strong reaction from the press. In those territories where we see numbers, (such as) Poland and Hungary, we have a strong and positive audience reaction.” The series may resonate here for more bloodthirsty reasons. Central Europe, after all, gave the world its first vampires: from Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel “Dracula,” set in Transylvania (now part of Romania), to Slavic countries like Serbia and Croatia where vampire myths are folklore. “I don’t think there is anybody (from this region) who doesn’t know what vampires are,” Zach says.”

Noemi Kertesz, PR and Communications Coordinator for HBO Hungary, believe that the vampire theme will do very well in the Central European television markets. Using the movie “Twilight” as an example Kertesz states that the movie did very well Hungary and Alan Ball’s previous hit show “Six Feet Under” was well received across central Europe. VP Zach is confident that “True Blood” will be a great success because of the quality that goes into HBO Productions.

True Blood: What is Going To Happen in Season 2?

billleatherE!Online is reporting that the suspense is building as to what fans can expect to see for Season 2 on Alan Ball’s successful HBO TV series “True Blood”. Questions are surrounding whether there is going to be a love triangle between Bill, Sookie and Eric? With the introduction of Jessica as Bill’s newly made vampire “child” how will Sookie deal with the news? Questions about Tara and Sam are on people’s minds as well. Are they going to hook up or are they going to go their separate ways? At the end of Season 1 we were left off with a cliffhanger: is Lafayetter dead or not?

Well the cast of “True Blood” are only going to give the fans only little tidbits. Stephen Moyer, who plays Sookie’s (Anna Paquin) vampire love interest states:

“I couldn’t possibly say. I honestly don’t know, but I think that there will be all the conflict that there needs to be to make it a great frisson.” What about that other third party, Bill’s baby-vamp Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll)? Moyer teases, “She is nuts—and fantastic.”

Nelsan Ellis says that he is not saying anything except, “They have to wait and see.” Nelsan does state that he is ready for some more “True Blood” and that he is just as invested as the fans into knowing if Lafayette lives or dies. Nelsan states:

“Absolutely, yeah, I’ll come back. I’ll take the paycheck.” “I love the fact that people are invested in this story. I like Lafayette, and I like that people like him.”

Rutina Wesley states that although Michelle Forbes’ character, the maenad seems sneaky and suspicious she is not all that bad because she saved Tara’s live. In regards to Tara’s love life she says that Tara and Sam have a complicated relationship and that even though Sam still has a thing for Sookie, she still has some feelings for him. We will just have to wait and see. E!Online provides the following teasing comments to build the anticipation among fans: “Should Tara and Sam be together? Are you Team Eric or Team Bill? Could you live with a True Blood that didn’t have any Lafayette? True Blood returns to HBO in June or July for Season 2.”
