Print, Cut And Play With Alcide Paper Doll

Joe Manganiello, True Blood, Alcide HerveauxAfter the Season 3 finale, every True Blood fan must ask themselves what they’re going to do with themselves until the new season! Well, if you have some imagination, scissors, and nostalgic memories of paper dolls,  you’re in luck!

Once again, the talented  illustrator and graphic designer Andy Swist has created a new paper doll in the True Blood series. Now joining the paper cast is our favorite werewolf Alcide Herveaux. Fans can enjoy dressing Alcide in his red flannel shirt, have him shift into a wolf, or like the show keep him shirtless. Either way, it’ll be fun way to pass the time until Season 4.

Andy encourages fans to use glitter, ribbon or any other art supply they may have to enhance the character. Laminating and using a thick stock paper will also help to keep the paper dolls from ripping. To check out the new Alcide paper doll or the whole True Blood collection, visit andyswist.com.

Producer Judah Finds Inspiration in True Blood

Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin, True Blood, Bill Compton, Sookie StackhouseTrue Blood is no longer simply a book series or television show, but rather a muse for many artists. Writers, painters, and musicians are all finding inspiration in the vampires of Bon Temps.

Recently, producer Judah has found a way to combine his love for True Blood and promotion for his new single Sundresses and Sandals.

By adding a True Blood inspired video treatment to the a promo clip for his song, Judah has been able to attract other fans of the show to his music.

A fan of the show himself, Judah bought his own camera, and hired a model to portray a Sookie Stackhouse role for the video. While the video was supposed to make its premiere in early September, Judah waited in order to showcase it alongside the Season 3 finale.

This is Judah’s second project under his own Simple Videos, a production company he and Bonita Star co-started. They were frustrated with video directors charging too much and not giving enough; through furstration cmae creation and the two have been creating videos with lots of heart and imagination.

The setting for Sundresses and Sandals was very important for Judah, who chose 14th Street and NW’s Donovan House because it was a dead ringer for the Dallas hotel featured in Season 2. In addition to enticing fans visually, Judah used quotes from the show to highlight his music. A line that is repeated throughout is whe Bill tells Sookie:

“I can smell the sunlight on your skin.”

When asked if his video idea stemmed from Snoop Dogg’s Oh Sookie, Judah explained that the video were very different as Snoop’s was focused on being funny, while his was trying to bring out the themes of the show as well as his own music.

It seems like True Blood has been sinking its teeth in more than just its Sunday night television spot!

True Blood Season 3 Finale Ratings

Bill Compton, Sookie Stackhouse, True Blood, Anna Paquin, Stephen MoyerThe ratings for the True Blood’s Season 3 finale have finally been revealed. The finale, Evil (Is Going On) was able to pull in 5.4 million viewers at 9 p.m and an additional 1.1 million during its encore at 11 p.m.

While the numbers were down by 60,000 viewers from the last episode, the season finale did increase by 5% when compared to the Season 2 finale. Though the VMAs on MTV took the lead Sunday night with a 6.2 rating for adults 18-49, True Blood was able to post a 3.0 rating for adults 18-49; this is quite impressive when it was going up against an award ceremony that had the charming Joe Manganiello presenting.

If we don’t count the finale, True Blood was able to pull in 12.7 million viewers this season, which include linear plays, DVR recordings and HBO on Demand. This is quite impressive; who knew a little vampire show could gain so many followers?

What exactly do all these numbers mean? Well, it means more of Sookie’s fae revelations, more of Bill’s southern charm, more of Lala’s cooking, lots of weres, lots of witches, and more summer nights with Eric Northman!

What TVDoneWright Expects of True Blood’s Season Finale

True Blood Cast, True Blood, HBOAdam Wright of TVDoneWright has written an article in anticipation of tonight’s True Blood Season 3 Finale. The article labels what he found to be the strongest and weakest points of this season to date, and how he thinks this season will close. Without further ado, here’s Adam, in his own words.

It’s been an interesting season of True Blood. Season three started off with the kidnapping of Bill by werewolves and from there went out of control. Some for the good, some for the bad, and some for the “what the F were they thinking?”

It’s quite remarkable when you think about it, season three has been the best season of the series, and yet at the same time it was the worst.

First let’s talk about the good. We’ve seen significant development involving Sookie Stackhouse this season. She began the season with her search for Bill, which is where she met Alcide the werewolf among others. We then learned that Bill might not be who we think he is, causing Sookie and Bill to break-up a bit. I have to admit, the time they were apart is when Sookie was the most interesting. Anna Paquin really shined this season with lots of good material to work with.

Most of what was happening with Sookie, Bill, Eric, and Russell made this season the best of the series. However, the roller-coaster ride had some lows.

The biggest problem this season was the introduction of too many characters in an already busy series. Last season they sort of made it work with most characters tying into the Maryann storyline. However this year, not every story is connected so nicely.

First there’s the Sam storyline. Ooops, I mean storylines. He started the season with the search for his family, who turned out to be shape-shifters also. Papa Merlotte used Sam’s brother to win dog-fighting matches. Of course, big brother steps in, saves little bro, and scares mean ol’ Papa away.

Of course, Adam had much more to say than just what’s shared above. To read the rest of his article, just click here and enjoy!

True Blood Season Finale Premieres Evil Is Going On Song

Jace Everett True Blood SongwriterTrue Blood Season Finale Premieres Jace Everett’s Evil Is Going On:

After three seasons, the opening song for True Blood, Bad Things by Jace Everett has not gotten old. Instead it’s the cue to get ready for a great night of vampire drama. Fans love the deep voice that comes with tuning into HBO at 9:00pm on Sunday nights.

When the series came to him to use his song, Jace‘s career was ready for that kind of exposure. He’d previously been picked up by Sony, but was dropped from the label after a year and one album. The country crooner noted,

“So really what was going on with me before [‘True Blood’] was not a whole damn lot…I was working really hard and making very little money.”

That’s all changed now. With the success of True Blood, Jace has experienced a new jolt in his career. During the season finale, not only will fans here the familiar opening tune, but they will also hear Jace’s collaborative efforts with C.C. Adcock twice in the song Evil (Is Going On). The song will make its appearance during a memorable moment in the show as well as the end credits. The song is remake of the Howlin’ Wolf classic. Jace said,

“It was just a great song…It’s just a blues song but it’s got this menace to it that really has a heavy vibe. So, we just tried to emulate that and hopefully amplify that and bring it to the 21st century and hopefully Wolf wouldn’t be to mad at us.”

The Story Behind Bad Things

Jace’s success started with one song, which started off with one perspective and change into another. At first it began with letting go of the anger he felt for a guy who owed him money and soon it changed into something much more sensual and sexy.

The song’s sexual tension is amplified when in connection with the flashing images True Blood opens with. When Jace had to rerecord the song to meet the minute and half intro, he was blown away and became an HBO convert. He noted,

“Second season we finally decided we can splurge and get HBO, so we watch [‘True Blood’]…It’s kind of like trash TV with a brain and heart and I love it. I think it’s funny and sexy and spooky and it’s just really cool to be associated with people who are firing on all cylinders.”

Evil (Is Going On) is on the True Blood Soundtrack Volume Two, and carries some big names including Beck, Lucinda Williams, and Elvis Costello. There’s one guy though, Jace is proud to be on the album with and that’s Bob Dylan. For Jace, love him or hate him (he loves him), Dylan is a legend.
