True Blood: The Stories That Could Have Been

Showrunner Brian Buckner and the Cast Discuss the Storylines They Would Have Liked to Explore:

Final scene of HBO's True Blood Season 7With Season 7 dead and gone, truebies are still trying to work out how to fill the hole that was True Blood. Showrunner Brian Buckner and some other cast members seem to agree that perhaps there could have been a little more True Blood on out screens. Recently The Hollywood Reporter got to find out which stories went untold and which storylines the cast would like to have seen explored.

For showrunner Brian Buckner, he would have liked to have seen more of Lafayette Reynolds (Nelsan Ellis):

I think he’s brilliant. I think every time he opens his mouth, something extraordinary comes out, usually that we didn’t write.

However, something Brian has learned as a writer for other TV shows is that once there is true happiness between the couple it is either time to move on or cause a conflict, so he decided to let Nelsan have the happy ending he received rather than try to cram another conflict into Season 7 for the sake of more airtime for Lala.

Joe Manganiello (who played werewolf, Alcide Herveaux), would have liked to see the relationship between Alcide and Emma (Chloe Noelle) developed. He also would have liked the storyline between Alcide and his father, Jackson Herveaux (Robert Patrick) kept. However, because of the show losing Alan Ball and then Mark Hudis in quick succession, some storylines in Season 6 were scrapped:

When you’ve got three showrunners in as many episodes, something’s got to give. That something unfortunately was my storyline. There was a plan to — [Jackson] came back for a reason, it just never happened.

Stephen Moyer (who played vampire Bill Compton) would have liked to see an exploration into why Bill and Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) had bad blood between them. As for newcomer Nathan Parsons, he would have liked some of his own flashbacks:

It would have been fun to go back to the ’70s a bit, to go back to the war going on and this hippie love child standing against it, the draft dodger, and how he paid for it

Karolina Wydra would have liked a bit more backstory for her character Violet as well. She thought this would help soothe the backlash against her character.

Which storyline would you have liked to see the writers of True Blood explore if they had more time? Let us know your thoughts by commenting below!

Top 10 True Blood Season 6 Halloween Costume Ideas

Want a Last Minute Costume Idea? Try These:

Lilith (Jessica Clark) and Billith (Stephen Moyer) star in HBO's True Blood1. Lilith and Her Bloody Hench Women (You’re a Guy? No Probs – Go as Bloody Billith!)

While Lilith (Jessica Clark) wore a lot more in Season 6 than in Season 5 of HBO’s True Blood, there were still a few moments when she stripped off, got bloody and bared her fangs. While we are not suggesting you go completely nude for this costume, why not try dying a white or flesh coloured cat suit or tank top and leggings? A great group costume as well considering Lilith’s minions also arrived to collect Bill (Stephen Moyer) in this outfit.

2. Sarah Newlin in Her Bloody White Suit

Anna Camp stars as Sarah Newlin in HBO's True Blood Season 7Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) in general had some fantastic outfits in Season 6. Her red dress and big hair when she reunited with Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) and her scarf print dress were two that stood out as Halloween costume worthy. But, by far, her most memorable outfit was that white pant suit she wore when she killed Ms. Suzuki (Tamlyn Tomita) with the Tru Blood spokeswoman’s own shoe!

3. Niall Brigant

Rutger Hauer stars as Niall Brigant in Season 6 of HBO's True BloodNiall (Rutger Hauer) was absent for a great deal of Season 6 since Warlow/Ben (Robert Kazinsky) sent him to another dimension. However, his very first appearance was certainly noteworthy costume-wise.

4. Be a Vamp Camp Vamper

Why not be a Vamp Camp vampire from HBO's True Blood Season 6 for Halloween this year? This is probably the quickest costume to pull out at the last minute. Don some scrubs, iron on a number, stick in some fangs and voila! you’re a vampire who’s been sent to Vamp Camp. There is a little scope to enhance this costume however. Daring True Blood fans could go as the bra flashing sun walking vampers. Or, if you have a blue magic marker lying around and an excess of fake blood, why not go as a vampire who’s consumed some tainted Tru Blood?

5. Willa in Her Bloody Nightdress

Amelia Rose Blair stars as Willa Burrell in HBO's True BloodThis is Option #1 for what to do with your gran’s old night dress. Willa (Amelia Rose Blair) spends a great deal of time in this outfit since Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) kidnaps her to use as a blackmailing pawn against her father Governor Burrell (Arliss Howard). If you want to keep gran’s nightie pristine, you can wear it by itself and try to track down a tall Viking to kidnap you on the evening, or you can splatter it with blood and add some fangs for the baby vampire look.

6. Nora as She’s Dying

Lucy Griffiths stars as Nora in HBO's True BloodThis is Option #2 for your gran’s old nightdress. You need to be a little more creative with this costume though as Nora was force fed tainted Tru Blood. Pull out your make up kit and use blue eye liner to draw wicked blue veins up your arms to complete the dying Nora look.

7. Eric Northman as a Conservationist

Alexander Skarsgard stars as Eric Northman in HBO's True BloodRaid your dad’s wardrobe for the dorkiest suit you can find. Slick your hair forward, find a pair of steel rimmed glasses and an edition of ‘Family Activities‘. Then learn everything you can about the whooping crane.

8. Lafayette (in Anything, Because He is Completely Gorgeous!)

Nelsan Ellis stars as Lafayette Reynolds in HBO's True BloodThis Halloween costume is for your more adventurous male. Anything Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) wears is simply fabulous, so there is a lot of scope with this costume. Think neon, leopard print and plenty of eye make up. The suit he wore for Terry Bellefleur’s (Todd Lowe) funeral is probably his most conservative look, but add some eye liner and fake eyelashes and you are really to roll girlfriend!

9 Like The Walking Dead and True Blood, But Can’t Decide Between the Two? Why Not Go as a Rabid, V Infected Vampire?

Halloween HBO's True Blood vs AMC's The Walking DeadWe touched on this idea back at #4. However, if you watch the True Blood Season 6 finale, there is one scene at the very end where a horde of Tru Blood affected vampires turn up at Bellefleur’s (previously Merlotte’s). Find some jeans or anything that you don’t mind messing up. Add a whole lot of fake blood, especially around your mouth and down the front of your chest. Add some blue veins and pretend to be crazy.

10. Merlotte’s Waitress

Carrie Preston stars as Arlene Fowler-Bellefleur in HBO's True BloodGrab a Merlotte’s T shirt from the HBO store, don a pair of little black shorts and you are ready to roll as a Merlotte’s waitress!

What are you planning to wear for Halloween this year? Did I miss any classic True Blood Season 6 costume ideas? Let me know in the comments below!

Also, can you guess which costume I will be wearing to interview Ginger (Tara Buck) and Lilith (Jessica Clark) at this weekend’s Club Fangtasia event at Seamus O’Toole’s in Knox, Australia?

True Blood Finale Quickie: True Blood Season 6 Episode 10 “Radioactive” Recap

Alexander Skarsgard stars as Eric Northman in HBO's True Blood Season 6 finale, Episode 10, entitled 'Radioactive'Whoa! WTF just happened? Yeah, it’s the finale of HBO’s True Blood Season 6.Episode 10, entitled Radioactive, is certainly a nail-biter – and for many it just may be a deal breaker unless a certain something is fixed within the first five minutes of True Blood Season 7, Episode 1!

Be warned SPOILERS and LANGUAGE abound in this recap!

This is what went down (can’t believe this is the last one):

  • Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) go walking after Terry Bellefleur’s (Todd Lowe) funeral. It seems Alcide isn’t the mindless beefcake Sookie expected!
  • So while they are walking and talking (and is that flirting I see?), they bump into a whole pile of sparkling Twilight wannabes day-walking vampires. Sookie finally realises that Billith (Stephen Moyer) was right. She doesn’t have time to dwell on this when she spies Jason (Ryan Kwanten) among them
  • After it gets a little fangy between Jason, Sookie and Violet (Karolina Wydra), things are amended with a kiss – between Sookie and Violet! How awkward for Jason: the ultimate male fantasy – except, dude, that’s your sister!
  • For the first time ever we see Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) genuinely happy – and with Sookie nonetheless!
  • That happy high doesn’t last for long though and Pam very quickly turning into the snark we know and love so much. She decides to hunt down Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) and leaves Tara (Rutina Wesley) in charge of Willa (Amelia Rose Blaire)
  • Tara looks ridiculous in a straw hat
  • Sookie also looks silly in hatsAnna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse in HBO's True Blood Season 6 finale, Episode 10, entitled 'Radioactive'
  • Sookie returns to Fairyland and an eagerly waiting Warlow (Robert Kazinsky). It seems, now that all Sookie’s vampire friends are safe, she can’t see the point in an immediate fae wedding and vampire turning. But Warlow is pissy – especially after he spent all that time making a maypole while she was gone – so he slaps her! WTF?!
  • Warlow is one badass monster! He should be horsewhipped on the spot for that slap. But, oh no, it gets worse! He gets all nasty-pants by choking her and then tying her to the maypole. Sookie tries to nuclear-fairy-ball him but he’s too fast and ties her hands up and then proceeds to FEED off her! See, this is why you should never trust a guy who’s killed your parents – not matter WHAT the reason!
  • Billith begins the long road to redemption in this episode – so glad to see this :-D
  • Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) is very good at whipping that ‘poor me‘ attitude right out of Bill when he explains Sookie is going to be turned and it’s all his fault
  • Jason is REAL pissed when Bill and Jessica ‘fess up about Sookie – and I don’t blame him one little bit! But, oh, I do LOVE to see Jason on a mission!
  • So Adilyn (Bailey Noble) is needed to get into Fairyland – bet Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) is going to love that idea – NOT! But in the end he agrees and him and Jason weapon up and head to the church with Bill, Jessica and Violet
  • Sometimes you just have to scare the crap out of a fairy to get to use her magic – I’m sure Violet is sorry Adilyn ;-)
  • The rescue of Sookie gets a bit full on. This is what goes down: Adilyn gets them into Fairyland, Violet releases Sookie. Bills stakes Warlow, everyone (except Bill and Warlow) escape back to Bon Temps and batten down the hatches at Sookie’s house (because a house is SO much stronger than a 6,000 year old fairy-vampire who is pissed), Violet gives Sookie her blood to heal her
  • But wait – Warlow just walks right out of that nasty staking mess, kicks Bill and flies off. Uh-ohSookie (Anna Paquin) finds out the truth about Warlow (Robert Kazinsky) in HBO's True Blood Season 6 finale, Episode 10, entitled 'Radioactive'
  • Yeah, that old southern house just doesn’t hold up against Warlow. Within seconds, he has Andy and Violet unconscious, Jason, Andy and Adilyn locked up in Eric’s old hidey hole (sealing it up with his fairy magic) and is up those stairs and choking Sookie all over again!
  • Now somehow Adilyn manages to release them all – even though her magic is not nearly 6,000 years old
  • So Sookie is trying to get her nuclear-fairy-ball happening, but you know what happens when you’re put under pressure – she just can’t get it up!
  • Luckily Niall (Rutger Hauer) decides at that moment to reach through from the stinking otherworld and grab Warlow
  • Jason manages to stake Warlow and kill him for good this time – wonder what made his stake better than all the rest?
  • Jason and Sookie pull Niall free from the otherworld and it’s all looking good…
  • … except now that Warlow is dead, the fairy day-walking ability wears off all the vampires. Lucky for them it’s night time…
  • … except no one told Eric who is sunbathing naked in Sweden
  • So for a split second we get to see the great Viking’s junk before he bursts into flames
  • WTF?!
  • Seriously?!
  • Flames?????????????
  • Dead Viking?????????????
  • HBO are you mad????????
  • While, technically, we don’t see Northman die, it is not looking good for him unless Pam can get to him in time
  • And now it’s six months later and we still don’t know the fate of Eric Northman or Pam, but it seems Sookie and Alcide are now a couple
  • Bill is a famous vampire author and it seems the only real authority on Hep V
  • 1/8 of a vampires are estimated to be infected with Hep V. Humans are carriers but it’s not a death sentence to them. Apparently it’s an unstable virus too and the mutations are erratic
  • Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) is the mayor – WTF?!
  • Sam goes to church talks to the Bon Temps community and encourages them to go to Merlotte’s for a free ‘social’ – only catch is that you should try and hook up with a vampire there for your own protection. Pretty sure Sam in not getting re-elected as a resultAdina Porter stars as Lettie Mae in HBO's True Blood Season 6 finale, Episode 10, entitled 'Radioactive'
  • Tara’s mum, Lettie Mae (Adina Porter) is mega creepy when trying to make amends with her daughter. I know she means well and all, but seriously? Creepy
  • Hot vampire James (Luke Grimes) can sing
  • Jessica tries to apologise to Andy for eating all his kids (LOL! It took her six months to do it – yeah, Andy’s that scary!) – surprise, surprise, Andy’s not impressed. In fact he pulls a gun on her and it looks like it’s all over red rover for Jessica Hamby. But, wait, nope, he shuts the door in her face. Phew!
  • Sookie and Alcide leave Merlotte’s early, only to be holed up by Bill. It seems he’s offering his protection to Sookie all over again – can anyone say ‘deja vu’? Sookie declines – but not before Alcide scents a mob of hungry, sick, moaning zombies vampires approaching the town!

The vampires return to Bon Temps in HBO's True Blood Season 6 finale, Episode 10, entitled 'Radioactive'

  • Say hello to #WaitingSucks because it’s the credits now and a hell of a long wait until HBO’s True Blood Season 7!

So what did you think of True Blood’s finale episode, Radioactive? Are you going to tune in Season 7 to see if HBO save Eric from the true death?

True Blood Season 6 Finale: Warlow is Set to Explode!

Robert Kazinsky Hints at Warlow’s Bad Side:

Robert Kazinsky stars as Warlow / Ben Flynn in HBO's True Blood Season 6Many trubie fans have been enjoying the Warlow (Robert Kazinsky) storyline in HBO’s True Blood Season 6. It’s nice to see Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) have a potential partner closer to her type (fae-human) and that will result in her still being able to sunbathe in the summer.

Of course the downside to this budding romance is the fact that Warlow not only drained the majority of fairies in the area and sent Niall (Rutger Hauer) into a nasty otherworldly dimension, but he is intent on turning Sookie into a fairy-vampire hybrid!

So what will happen if Sookie drags her heels on her promise to marry Warlow and have him turn her into an undead, sparkling daywalker? According to Robert Kazinsky, it could be explosive:

This guy’s a timebomb if he goes off. It’s not just scary, it’s cataclysmic. He’s an incredibly powerful vampire, and as a fae, he throws fireballs. He can take what he wants, but he’s trying his best to be understanding, to be a good guy, to make her love him of her own free will. She has a choice, and he’s given her that.

Kazinsky also compares Warlow to an addict, saying that his character cannot stop at draining just one person. Once he starts, he can’t stop. Is this an indication that another bloodbath may follow in True Blood’s Season 6 finale perhaps?

And if this is the case, will Warlow survive to see True Blood Season 7? Robert is not even sure, it seems:

In my mind’s eye, I can’t see Sookie and Bill getting over their troubles — or even Sookie and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) — so maybe this guy is her best chance if he makes it to season seven.

What do you think will happen between Warlow and Sookie Stackhouse in the True Blood Season 6 finale? Let us know in the comments below.

TrueBloodNet’s True Blood Season 6 Finale Predictions

Who Will Die? Will We See Eric Northman in True Blood Season 7?

Alexander Skarsgard stars as Eric Northman in HBO's True Blood Season 6With only a short time to go until HBO’s True Blood Season 6 finale, fans are already wondering what will go down. Here at TrueBloodNet, we have all been curious to see how Brian Buckner will close a season that is already becoming a fan favorite.

Here are our predictions for what will occur in Episode 10 (entitled Radioactive), the season finale of True Blood:

  • Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) won’t die, but will head on over to Honolulu to alert them about the Tru Blood contamination
  • Billith (Stephen Moyer) will be chased by Lilth and her three bloody handmaidens throughout Episode 10. This will follow through into Season 7
  • Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) will not appear much (if at all) in Episode 10, but will return in Season 7 as the top villain
  • Considering how sad Kristin Bauer van Straten gets whenever she is asked about the demise of her maker, Eric Northman, in True Blood, perhaps it is actually Pam de Beaufort that will bite the dust?
  • Warlow (Robert Kazinsky) will also die. And considering how sad he appears when Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) leaves for Terry Bellefleur’s (Todd Lowe) funeral, it could possibly be at his own hand
  • Niall (Rutger Hauer) will appear right at the end of Episode 10
  • Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) will make a pass at Sookie, this will confuse her even more in regard to her feelings towards Warlow
  • Some of the vampires that were feeding off Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) were infected with Hep V – this will lead to the big question: how will humans react to Hep V?
  • Jason will only find out about his Hep V status when Violet (Karolina Wydra) starts getting the tell-tale blue veins

It’s highly likely we are completely off with our predictions and Brian Buckner has something else even more spectacular planned for us all in the True Blood Season 6 finale, but it’s still fun to dream.

What are your predictions for the Season 6 finale? And what are your predictions for True Blood Season 7? Let us know in the comments below,

True Blood’s Michael McMillian Says Farewell to Steve Newlin

Michael McMillian Talks about the Demise of Steve Newlin:

True Blood's Michael McMillian

In a recent interview with Vulture.com, HBO‘s True Blood Michael McMillian(Steve Newlin) reveals his feelings on the departure of Steve Newlin.  In Episode 9 of True Blood Steve Newlin meets the sun at the hands of a VERY pissed off Eric.  Check out some of my favourite questions here!

Do you think he was gay, or bisexual? Because there must have been something between him and Sarah at one point.
Yeah, well, Anna Camp and I used to talk about it, and we still do. We think that they still had a bit of a kinky sex life there for a while. I think they married young, and they were both virgins when they got married, and I think she was just trying to keep Steve happy for a long time. I think there was probably some intense dom/sub play going on in the bedroom. I think Sarah was willing to perform certain acts for Steve to keep her husband happy.”

Did you see this coming for Steve? How much advance warning did you get?
Steve was really digging himself into a hole this season. Steve Newlin is the Jabba the Hutt of the True Blood universe. He has a very important place in the mythology, but he’s not going to help Luke Skywalker blow up the Death Star, you know? And especially seeing how the story was going, and Steve taking his place as a villain again and causing so much damage? If you think about it, Luna died because Steve and Russell kidnapped Emma. Pam was outted as Eric’s progeny because of him. Nora dies because of him. And he just wasn’t going to make it through. But Steve really dies at the hands of both Eric and Sarah.”

Who was Steve’s maker? He didn’t know her name …
I’d love to answer the question, but the truth is, I don’t know! And I’m not sure if the show is ever going to answer it or not. At one point, we were going to find out last season, and it was written out in the script, but they scratched it out.”

True Blood Season 6 Finale: How to Throw a Last Minute Finale Party!

Only Days to Go to the True Blood Finale – it’s Time to Plan a Party:

Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) eats Pecan Pie in HBO's True Blood Season 1, Episode 6Many trubies are lamenting the fact that HBO’s True Blood Season 6 is drawing to an end. With only 10 episodes instead of it’s usual 12, the time to plan a finale party for True Blood has come around a little quicker than expected!

After all, it seems like just yesterday we were planning out True Blood premiere party. Perhaps we could use the ideas from that party? Yes, you could, but if you are inviting the same people, then it’s time to think about all the new foods that have been inspired by True Blood’s Season 6.

So to entertain and surprise your friends, why not try:

Food

  • For starters, no True Blood finale party is complete without Sookie’s (Anna Paquin) gran’s pecan pie recipe. You can make one from scratch using our exclusive recipe. Or, if you are pressed for time, why not buy a ready made pie base and just cook up the pie filling?
  • Why not try some raspberry liquorice dipped in chocolate? In Australia, these are called raspberry liquorice bullets – and since Governor Burrell (Arliss Howard) created vampire-stopping bullets, these red-centered treats would be a great way to represent this
  • Even though you probably had these treats at the premiere party, it’s probably time to heat up more cocktail frankfurters and call them Lilith’s (Jessica Clarke) henchwomen!
  • Balls of cotton candy on sticks would be a great way to represent Sookie’s magic fairy light balls
  • There has been so much blood this season, so anything that is red, or can have globs of jelly added to it will help fill your table. Bite-sized pancakes topped with whipped cream and then drizzled with runny strawberry jelly is a quick way to add some bloody colour. Red velvet cupcakes are always great too!
  • Our favorite screamer, Ginger (Tara Buck) was back with a vengeance in Episode 9, why not track down some candied ginger or ginger nut cookies to celebrate?
  • Make fairy freckles – melt down some white chocolate, blob it down in bite-sized circles on baking paper and shake on lots of sprinkles or edible sparkle
  • They may be fiddly to make, but shoe cupcakes would be a perfect addition to your True Blood finale party – just be careful not to stab anyone in the head with them!
  • Extra spicy buffalo wings – say hello to Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) finally meeting the sun!
  • If you have some extra time and are game enough to attempt making your own candy, why not try some bloody lollypops? It’s a great way to represent the Blood Will Spill promo poster.

Drinks

  • No True Blood Season 6 finale party can be complete without a case of Raging Bitch beer!
  • Ditto a few cases of Tru Blood – especially considering the Hep V contamination this year. To represent this, why not drop a strawberry or blueberry in each bottle? Or to make it fun, just ‘contaminate’ a few bottles and see who ends up ‘dead’ among your crowd when Episode 10 ends.
  • Want to water a large trubie crew? Then fruit punch is the way to go. Make it red, fizzy, filled with vodka and berries and stick a name tag on it that says ‘Talbot’ (Theo Alexander).
  • So needles seem to be a prominent theme this year – which means it’s time for red jello shots!
  • How about a drink with the name: Eric’s Bare Bottom? It this tickles your fancy, then head on over to Grapefriend.com for the recipe. You can do so by clicking here.

What do you have planned for your True Blood Season 6 finale party? Let us know in the comments below.

True Blood Quickie: True Blood Season 6 Episode 9 “Life Matters” Recap

The vampires gets high in HBO's True Blood Season 6, Episode 9, entitled 'Life Matters'Can you believe we only have one more episode of HBO’s True Blood left?!

Neither can I.

So what did you think of True Blood Season 6, Episode 9, entitled Life Matters? Personally, this was my favourite episode of the Season! In fact, I would probably rank it somewhere in the top 5 across the ENTIRE series. To me, this episode was less about how much life matters, and how much more family matters.

And what about Steven Newlin, hey? Even though I HATED him the most in the last episode, I am actually really sad to see him go.

This is what went down:

  • So Billith (Stephen Moyer) is pissy with Sookie (Anna Paquin) for not handing over Warlow (Robert Kazinsky). Sookie reminds him that Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) now has more fairy blood in him than Warlow – seriously Billith, did you lose your brain when you became all ‘Look at me, I’m a god’? While Billith is trying to get his brain around this concept, Sookie zaps his ass right out of Fairyland!
  • Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) goes on a rampage in HBO's True Blood Season 6, Episode 9, entitled 'Life Matters'Speaking of Eric, he’s on a rampage – and it is AWESOME! Billith spends the whole season worrying about how to save his vampire friends. Eric? He’s a man of action! In all of five minutes he’s managed to drain Warlow AND turn the security outside Vamp Camp into a bloody soup. *high five Eric*
  • Warlow says he fine – but I don’t think he is…
  • While all the crazy Vamp Camp stuff is going on, we have Terry’s (Todd Lowe) funeral occurring in Bon Temps. We get a whole heap of flashbacks (Terry gets a job) and blasts from the past (Jane Bodehouse sobers up and Maxine Fortenberry STILL isn’t happy with her son’s choice in women) mixed in with plenty of tears. (I dare you not to cry when Big John sings.) It’s a good funeral and a poignant send off for a gentle character that struggled so much with his inner demons.
  • Back at Vamp Camp Eric is ripping the junk off Dr. Overlark (John Fleck) and leaving to die within sight of his crown jewels. Just when you think this is the most eye-watering scene ever in True Blood history, Billith arrives (always just one step behind Eric) and stomps on the man’s head
  • Speaking of vampires getting their revenge on their captors, Dr. Finn (Pruitt Taylor Vince) gets to brag about his conquest with Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten), but then gets killed by her. Rule learned here: Always, always, be nice to vampires
  • Eric finds Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) while he is releasing everyone from gen pop. Jason is thankful for the blood healing Eric gives him, but it looks like we will get to witness Jason questioning his sexuality again this season
  • By the way, did anyone notice the lack of fangs after Eric bit his arm open for Jason?Anna Camp stars as Sarah Newlin in HBO's True Blood Season 6, Episode 9, entitled 'Life Matters'
  • Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) is excellent at playing dead to escape the vampires. Thanks to this, she manages to get up on the roof of Vamp Camp and manually opens the roof to the white room – luckily Bill has finally worked out that he needs to let all the vampires trapped in there feed off him and none of them actually fry
  • All except Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian). Well, technically, Billith is happy to give him his blood, but the other vamps pull rank and it is time for Steve to meet the sun. Line of the night goes to Steve; ‘I love you Jason Stackhouse!’  while his deranged poor estranged wife, Sarah Newlin looks on.
  • That’s when Jason Stackhouse realises that she’s still alive and takes chase. It’s nice to see all that time spent playing football back in high school helps him bring her down! It’s a shame he can’t pull the trigger though and kill her. Guess we will be seeing more of Sarah Newlin in True Blood Season 7 then…
  • Lafayette (Nelsan Reynolds) gives the best funeral speeches. EVER!
  • So Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) finally works out that Billith is weak from blood loss and missing. She takes James (Luke Grimes) back to the white room to find him
  • Being near death, Billith is seeing Lilith’s (Jessica Clarke) bloody messengers again. This time they are telling him his time on earth is over! Luckily Jessica arrives at just the right time and she and James feed Billith back to health
  • Meanwhile, somewhere in Honolulu, a truck filled with Tru Blood is being stolen by vampiresGinger (Tara Buck) gets saved in HBO's True Blood Season 6, Episode 9, entitled 'Life Matters'
  • The mystery of ‘Where’s Ginger (Tara Buck)?’ has been solved: Governor Burrell (Arliss Howard) was using her as a human blood cow. We get to hear her deliciously shrill shrieks for the rest of the episode as a result of her being released
  • Vampires go all ‘hippy lovechild‘ when they are high on fairy blood
  • True Blood has officially gone Team Twilight on us with day-walking vampires. This makes me a little uncomfortable…
  • Pam and Eric have a moment – right before Eric zooms off into the sky. He must have some unfinished work. Maybe in Honolulu? Guess we’ll have to wait until True Blood’s Season 6 Finale to find out!
Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) misses Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) already in HBO's True Blood Season 6, Episode 9, entitled 'Life Matters'

So what did you think of Life Matters? Are you excited about the finale? Have you baked Sookie’s gran’s pecan pie yet?

R.I.P to True Blood’s Steve Newlin

 How Will Sarah Newlin Cope?

RIP Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) from HBO's True Blood Season 6, Episode 9, entitled 'Life Matters'

And so we come to the end of an era. Last night in HBO’s True Blood Season 6, Episode 9, entitled Life Matters, the (former) Reverend Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) finally met the sun. And is it just me, or are we all going to miss the spineless little turncoat?

While Steve got to meet the sun (which was a sweet iron due to his joy of making vampires meet the sun in Season 2), it was a bitter sweet moment. Steve was the character we all loved to hate after all. Michael McMilllian, however, was just pleased that he managed to make people both sad and happy with his death:

It’s a funny moment in the script. I was checking [Twitter] last night, of course, and I was actually surprised that people thought it was as funny as it was. That made me really happy. And I also got a lot of messages saying that people were sad to see Steve go. So if you can pull off a death that is both sad and hilarious, I think you’ve done your job okay.

As for that last line muttered: “I love you Jason Stackhouse!” That was entirely McMillian’s idea after he was disappointed at there being no Steve and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) action in True Blood’s Season 6.

Considering the fact that Michael McMillian has actually been with True Blood since Season 1, Entertainment Weekly wanted to know if there was any special send-off – especially from Alexander Skarsgard:

He gave me a very personal sendoff in the gag reel, which nobody but cast and crew saw. It was somewhat inappropriate and somewhat hilarious, but beyond that I really can’t describe it too much. [Laughs] There was a little skin involved. Yes.

What we wouldn’t give to see that gag reel, hey Trubies?!

True Blood: Is the “Real” Season 6 Major Death Still to Come?

Will We See One More Death in the Finale?:

True Blood's Anna Paquin

With the Season 6 Finale of True Blood less than a week away, there is the lingering possibility that the Season 6 major character death is still to come.  Fans watched with awe and sadness in Episode 6, when the lovable and tormented Terry Bellefleur(Todd Lowe) set the wheels in motion to put an end to his tortured life.  We knew almost immediately that Terry would be the “major” character death of Season 6. Episode 7 confirmed our feelings, and yet the death of Terry Bellefleur for some was a little anti-climatic.  Yes Terry has been in the series since the beginning, but Terry? The major character death?

I would like to propose another twist that the major character death is still to come in the Season 6 Finale which aires next Sunday August 18 on HBO. The major character death could in fact be none other than Bon Temps favourite telepath, Sookie Stackhouse(Anna Paquin).

What we know:

1) Sookie has promised to become Warlow(Rob Kazinsky’s) faerie vampire bride, this can only be achieved with the “death” of Sookie. Sookie reconfirmed her promise to Warlow in Episode 9.

2) Sookie does not want to die and be buried next to her parents for all of eternity.

3) Sookie’s “death” would not mean the end of her time on the show True Blood, it would mark the beginning of a very interesting storyline.

It has been said in an interview that the finale brings “game changer” status to True Blood. Having Sookie become a vampire would definitely be a game changer, since we have spent the past 5 seasons listening to her say that she would never turn into a vampire…

So Truebies what do you think? Will Sookie go through with the faerie vampire wedding, marking the “real” major character death of the season?
