True Blood Is Going International

tbdvdseasonone“True Blood” is a phenomenal hit here and in North America and it seems that the rest of the world will soon discover this fantastic show.  According to trueblood-online.com Sweden is already enjoying “True Blood” but soon Spain, France, the U.K. and Brazil will  join the millions who are already entralled by this HBO hit TV series.  The premiere dates for the following countries are:  Spain (December 4, 2008), France (December 23, 2008), Brazil (January 18, 2009) and the U.K. (April 2009).  It seems each country will have their own website dedicated to the show.  To obtain further information and links to the various countries’ websites, click the links below.

USATODAY.Com Article “Fans Drink Up HBO’s True Blood”: USA TODAY.Com has a new article featuring a new picture of Stephen Moyer as Bill Compton with Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse. The article talks about what True Blood is all about and how much the fans really love the show. As well as the high success of Charlaine Harris’s True Blood Book Series as seven of her books are on their USA TODAY’s 150 Best-Selling Books list.

True Blood is generating some true — and badly needed — success for HBO.

Alan Ball’s vampire drama, adapted from the Sookie Stackhouse book series by Charlaine Harris, has steadily gained momentum on the pay-cable service. Viewership for Sunday premiere episodes, now at 2.7 million, has nearly doubled since the show’s debut Sept. 7. All told, 6.8 million are watching each episode each week.

Seven of the Harris titles are on USA TODAY’s 150 Best-Selling Books list. And though still far from the heights achieved by The Sopranos and Sex and the City, Blood has eclipsed a string of recent HBO failures, along with the once more-popular Entourage. Both end their seasons Sunday (9 and 10 p.m. ET/PT).

“It’s an old-fashioned Saturday-matinee-movie kind of serial,” says Ball, who tackled death, if not the undead, in the network’s Six Feet Under. “People are having fun in this world.”
