True Blood Season 3 Casting News

true-blood-season-2-poster-season-2Season 2 of True Blood recently finished and Season 3 is not scheduled to begin shooting till early December and already casting news is coming out about the new season.  According to Michael Ausiello from EW.com, Alan Ball has confirmed that he is currently casting the role of Talbot, “trophy husband” to Denis O’Hare’s same-gender-lovin’ King of Mississippi.  It looks like it won’t be long before we start hearing more casting news and tidbits about season 3.  Now who do you think would be good for the role of Talbot? Many will be wondering who will play Alcide and Debbie Pelt.  Let the suggestions start coming in.

Viggo Mortensen I think would make a good Alcide…with the scruff like he had during Lord of the Rings.

As for Debbie Pelt, the girl who plays Jennie on the LWord, Mia Kirshner. She would be successful in making Sookie and Alcide’s life miserable.

    I ABSOLUTELY AGREE that Alcide should be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, he would be PERFECT! I also agree with Parker Posey, she pulls off that stuck up B*tch attitude very well and she can also do CRAZY very well. Good picks, can’t WAIT for the next season 🙂

The first person I pictured as Alcide when I was reading the books was Ivan Sergei. I think he would make a GREAT Were, but I also like Eddie Cibrian. As for Debbie Pelt I think Ginnifer Goodwin would be a good choice.

I think Mark Ruffalo for Alcide,I’m not sure how tall he is though.For Debbie Pelt,Shannon Dougherty would be the absolute best.Maybe the girl who played Cornelia in “Buffy” and “Angel”.

Of course Claire Forlani or Erica Durance would both make an excellent Claudine. Erica is the tallest of the three I’ve suggested.

    I suggest Jason Mamoa(formerly of baywatch), he has the gorgeous green eyes, perfect olive skin tone and the voice!what more can i say. And he’s tall like Eric. if he doesn’t float your boat, there is also jason behr(skinwalkers)and tom welling(smallville). Both of them pull off the rugged look well.

I think Actor and pro boxing / MMA trainer James “Coach Rick” Coward would be the perfect fit for part of Alcide, he is great looking, over 6′ tall, 210lbs a great actor in great shape that has already played a werewolf in film. Alan Ball you may want to take a quick look him, he may be what “Eggs” turned out to be in season 2 of “True Blood”. He has video’s on http://www.Youtube.com/Nexttime4u, MetaCafe.com/coachrick and Nova entertainment. He just wrapped up filming a TV Sitcom and my be doing some of Miguel Cotto’s Technical training for a few weeks coming up for the Pacqiao fight, but he will be free to film in Nov. and would probably luv the chance to be on “True Blood”..

I think Rufus Sewell would make a wonderful Alcide. I can’t get Juliette Lewis out of my mind as Debbie Pelt, either.

Ryan Reynolds comes to mind. He seems like a versatile actor.
However While he may have the “Stud” factor down pat I dont think he would be a good choice as far as the Acting goes.
Whoever it is, They must not Only be striking But Also keen acting ability. It will serve No purpose if The actor has “model” looks and cannot act!

i really like the show TRUE BLOOD. WOULD IT BE A GREAT IDEA TO ADD A WEREWOLF ENEMY IN A 4TH SEASON?(NOT STRONGER THAN THE VAMPS,BUT EQUALLY FORMATIBLE.)THIS WOULD ADD WOLF FANS TO THE ALREADY POPULAR SHOW FOR VAMP LOVERS.     Actually, the series are based off of The Southern Vampire Mystery Novels and in the third book, which is what the series will be losely based off of… wereANIMALS come into the plot, so you’ll see some werewolves.

I don’t know if he is too famous to play a part in True Blood but I enjoy him as an actor I think Aaron Eckhart would be a great Alcide. From reading the books I don’t picture Alcide to be that young I would keep him around the age of Bill. He can obviously play the bad guy and good guy which Alcide portrays in the book going from man to werewolf.

    I think an unknown actor would prolly be best. Film actors have regular work..So I don’t know if that would be a good idea.
    Would anyone consider Viggo Mortensen ~~~Of LOTR fame? He has been playing a lot of “dark” characters lately.

    Aaron Eckhart Would be fine,But,As of right now he’s busy promoting his latest film with Jennifer Aniston called Love Happens. I’m sure Both He and Ms.Aniston have high hopes for their latest effort.
    Besides AE does Mostly films He Rarely does Tv anymore!

I wish that they would have saved Ed Quinn(Stan) to play Alcide. He is as tall as Alex(Eric), I could’ve pictured him as Alcide.

Whoever plays Alcide has to be able to stand up to Eric in size. That’s not easy–Skarsgard is 6’4″!! He also can’t look more than 30 or 31 years old, because he’s got to be an eligible stud for Sookie…not too much older than she is.

I would suggest the Tudor’s British actor, JAMES CAVILL(http://www.paulgenesse.com/images/James%20Cavill.jpg)–plus he’s already worked for the cable network, Showtime. He’d have to “beef up” but could definitely do it.

Steven Strait is another option–he was in 10,000 B.C…he’s an intense young actor. (http://www.thecinemasource.com/moviesdb/images/Steven_Strait-4-10000_BC.jpg)

Jeffrey Dean Morgan & Hugh Jackman are delicious and perfect, but still too old for the role.

    That’s interesting. I kind of think James and Steven look too young, and in fact didn’t really picture anything but big woodsman looking kind of men! I guess even if he is fairly young, I never visualized Alcide to look very young. But that’s just the way it goes:)

      I’d have to agree Hugh Jackman Is a bit long in the tooth for the role of Alcide. I Still say Ryan Reynolds ~~of The Proposal and X-Men Origins fame~~ Would be great! If the producers could get him! I would say Viggo Mortensen but maybe He may be a bit too old as well.

    I have to disagree on Hugh being too old, as he seems to get younger in the last of the X-Men movies he did… Besides, he looks MUCH younger than his real age!

I would like to see Christian Kane as Alcide he is currently on Leverage kind of rugged, husky, sexy I think he has the right mix to portray a werewolf

ok- my suggestion for the trophy hubby- LUKE MACFARLANE! He was on Brothers & Sisters (btw- also happens to be openly gay, and I feel that it would be refreshing to see both actors portraying the roles to be gay.)
