It’s turning out to be a good year for Joe Manganiello. The actor cast as werewolf Alcide Herveaux, a recurring role for season 3 of HBO’s True Blood will also have a lead role in an upcoming CBS sitcom, Livin’ on a Prayer.
Manganiello, 33, will swap his claws and fur to play Doug, a husband, father, and former high school football player. So from wolf skin to pigskin? The CBS pilot is by the creators of the popular sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
It’ll be great to see Joe‘s diversity as he goes from the bloody drama of Bon Temps to the light comedy of being a dad.
