Brian Buckner is in Negotiations Over True Blood Season 7 – Is This the End?

Anna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse in HBO's True Blood Season 7 - will there be a True Blood Season 8 though?Some trubie fans were initially surprised to hear that HBO’s True Blood would be renewed for a seventh season. Many citing the confusing story lines as the reason why they were turning off. New showrunner, Brian Buckner, however, took a jumble of story lines left over from True Blood Season 5 and streamlined it into a Season 6 which made many fans tune back in. With the shock ending of the Season 6 finale, many fans are now claiming they won’t be back to see how Brian Buckner fixes everything again.

But will True Blood Season 7 be the final season?

Brian Buckner is not planning to give everything away but he did have this to say to TVLine about the possibility of a True Blood Season 8:

That conversation is happening, but we don’t have an answer yet. I’m being told that I will know – which doesn’t mean that I will tell everybody. But I will know when the writers resume in the room [next month] whether or not we’re wrapping it up or not.

HBO president, Michael Lombardo, has also stated in the past that True Blood will run for as long as there is a story to tell.

With the writers heading back on September 3rd to put their heads together for the Season 7 story lines, it is anyone’s guess as to whether they will be told to wrap things up.

I guess we’ll just have to wait until the announcement in made sometime during Season 7 – #WaitingSucks!

This is my absolute faveorite show. It always keeps me on my toes. I was very depressed for a moment when Sookie had to kill Bill. I hope you make a season 8. It would be even more worth watching if Bill came back as a ghost and visits Sookie. Or Hoytt and Jessica try for a ” vamper”baby hehe! Please make 8 ! ??

Without a doubt bring on season 8!I have never seen the storylines as confusing to be honest,things might seem complex for a while but always come together in the end,I really would have seen another two or three seasons of good stories for Sookie,Pam and the rest of the crew!I personally have never seen Sookie as destined to be with Bill or Eric,even though her time with them brought great storylines.Please bring some more seasons!

i hope true blood will last for a very long time ! but vampires don’t age. there immortal. so the HBO tv show true blood will for sure be immortal on the big tv screen !. so in a way true blood will never end !.

I don’t think so after they ruined Warlow and Sookie’s relationship! A lot of people feel me included that they just forced pieces together for the season finale, when they could’ve done more with Warlow’s character!!!!

I don’t think I can watch another season of Sookie and Bill together, broken up, or a Sookie/Bill/? triangle six seasons and the way the writers, producers, and show runners are flirting with putting them back together for a season 7. Same old storyline with stuff mixed in.

    I always wanted Sookie back with Bill even though I liked her with Eric, but when I saw her with Warlow I saw something in their relationship that I didn’t see with Eric or even with Bill but they killed him off in the finale which made no sense! 🙁

Even if the storyline wasn’t as great this time I am sure I am not the only Truebie out there that still watches!!! There is a certain sense of escapism I get from this show that I get from no other, and that’s what keeps bringing me back episode after episode…………
