Win Signed Copies of Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress Books

True Blood season 3 has now ended, and we’ve begun an excruciating 9 month wait for Season 4. It is, and will continue to be hard, but there are ways to get through it after re-watching the previous seasons of True Blood over and over and talking with fellow fans here on TrueBloodNet.com.

One thing I’ve found very helpful in the wait for each new season of True Blood is to read other vampire books. In doing that, I’ve discovered many other amazing authors whose stories drag me directly into the worlds they have created. One such author is Jeaniene Frost. She kindly donated several copies of her Night Huntress books to TrueBloodNet.com to be given away as prizes.

Halfway to the Grave, Jeaniene FrostThe Night Huntress series feature lots of action, wonderful romance, and sexy vampires. The main stories are about Cat, a half-vampire trained from an early age to hate vampires, and Bones, a vampire she ends up falling in love with. They go through trials and tribulations, as well as disapproval from their peers, but as with many other wonderful stories, true love prevails.

This series is fun, high action adventure, and it’s a pleasure to read these books again and again. I can’t choose a favorite in this series because I love Cat and Bones and the story of their life together is amazing!

In fact, Charlaine Harris is a fan of Jeaniene’s! In an author quiz she answered for EW’s Shelf Life, Charlaine said that the fictional character she’d love to marry is Bones from the Night Huntress series.

Three (3) lucky winners will be chosen to win a signed copy of Jeaniene Frost’s book Halfway to the Grave. One (1) lucky winner will get the grand prize, consisting of five books, all signed by Jeaniene Frost.

I’m not a fan of self loathing vamps. I want my vampires to embrace who they are and run with it, not wallow in self pity for their entire existence. I love characters who are witty, fun and aren’t afraid to poke fun at themselves, or others;)

In paranormal romance books where vampires are involved I love to see humor not seriousness all the time.

Mindy

I ultimately enjoy a good love story between two complete opposites! I would love to see more hardcore romance packed with action that just sucks you in. The male lead would have to be a vampire because there is nothing hotter then a manly strong sexy vampire that just steals the heart of a beautiful innocent female. I love books that have “the wrong place at the wrong time” type vibes (the meeting of two characters). Something else that I love…a good fight scene between the lovers! The make up is always SOOO enjoyable to read!! So for me…bring on the action, romance, and edge. I’m always looking for the next read that sucks me right into the book with the characters. BRING IT ON!

Kristen Gough

I love a book that has a strong female lead character who has a sarcastic personality and I love watching relationships with an intense sexual attraction unfold!

MICHELLE DOYLE

What do I want to see more of??? BONES AND CAT! 😀

Melissa

I also love strong female leads in books. I prefer to see her of strong body, mind, and spirit. Drives me nuts when my stong female lead does nothing but make stupid decisions. I also love good dialogue and some shifters, spellcasters, or demons thrown in. Really like the age old good vs evil. Looking forward to our next installment in the is series!

I haven’t read Jeaniene Frost yet! She is, howver, on my next buy list! I love reading most romance fantasy books but I always find vampire and shifter books to be most fascinating. I think the perfect Para-Romance book needs a kick-ass heroine fighting a realisticf personal problem, a subtle developing love life with a realistic yet supernatural guy, a good amount of humour and a well-planned plot line. Ilona Andrews has to be my favourite so far!

    Ruth,
Get ready for a ride you wont forget!! Jeanienes book are the kind that keep you up at night because you just want to read instead of sleep. They are ALL fabulous!! You will seriously enjoy them from beginning to end! They are the kind of books that take you right into the moment! ENJOY!

If I must pick one thing I suppose it would be humor. Though I can not in good faith say I’d change a single line in her books.I absolutely adore Jeaniene Frost. I’ve read the book “First Drop Of Crimson” and was hooked. So I immediately ordered “Eternal Kiss Of Darkness” loved it as well. Being a cancer survivor makes you want to escape the harsh realities of this vicious disease. Reading her books takes me away to a different time and place. I become totally lost in the characters and am craving the “Night Huntress” series. Either I’m laughing with the humor, fighting in the action or melting in the romance. You make it all come to life! I’m wondering will you write a book based on Vlad Tepesh?
I enjoyed his character so much. Keep writing Jeaniene Frost and I’ll keep reading. You ha

I love a PR book that has a kick-arse herione and some steamy scenes between the herione and her love interest!! But it has to be backed up by an AWESOME plot with lots of action…I want to laugh, cry and say “what the hell..NO!!!” but it always works out in the end.

Jeaniene Frost is a PERFECT example of what I mean, her books are some of the BEST out there!!

Marla Jo Green

Jeaniene’s books are like the show, once you start you cant stop…more more more!!

Cathy

I love all different vampire stories, I really like when added to other paranormals ie shifters, demons, witches, fae ect. I also like learning about where they all began. every series I have read seem to have a different set of rules and i like the differences.

nichola

This night huntress series has been at the very top of my list of favorite books Ever…it’s seductive,sexual,addictive,can’t-put-down-series and i simply love it.
i am looking forward to more of the night huntress series..more of justina…whether or not she found someone who could tame her, more of Cat and Bones and the open sexual desire they have for each other..Denise and Spade..how are they balancing their relationship with the undead world and that of Denises’ shapeshifting..being that stress, horniness, hunger can all trigger her shifting..My love Mencheres and Vlad..i would be honoured to own signed copies of this magnificent series.
Looking forward to more of Ian and Tate as well..this series wouldn’t be the same without thier sarcasm, openess and they can annoy u but they both tug at my heart..

cherie

I have to agree with everyones comments here. The strong female character and romance is what draws me to Jeanie Frost books.I love that Cat isn’t a victim and doesn’t fall down and cry every book. She really is a superhero(evil grin). More books need stronger characters and better romantic ties.Nothing is better then Bones and if you’ve read her series, there’s really no need to explain.

Tara McKee

I like strong female leads who are not perfect and struggle with their issues like all of the rest of us. I like the strong romances that are also not perfect but more real. I also like sex scenes. Of course, violence, blood, and vampires make it all worthwhile! Of course, Bones is really hot!

Joni G.

I like some danger, some romance and lots of sexy!

jessica mead

I enjoy reading strong heroines in paranormal romance vampire books!! I LOVE LOVE to see the chick to be able to kick some serious butt and not always be the helpless little victim… I think a given is the romance/sex scenes… the more explicit the better (: with that being said it is obvious that cat and bones books are definitely on the top of my favorite books!!!!

sylviasybil

I enjoy reading vampire books with strong women (vampire, vampire slayer or something else entirely, it’s all good). And if there’s a sex scene, I prefer it not to be too purple or too out of character.

Renee

I love seeing all the different types of supes. The Nighthuntress Series is probably my favorites series ever. I love the sarcasm and that Cat isn’t some wussy damsel in distress. But I do love other supes likes fae and shifters so I also read the Merry Gentry books, Patriciah Briggs and JR Ward. I’m always on the lookout for new authors. And with true blood off the air and the next cat and bones not until early next year, I don’t know what I”ll do with myself!!

    loleaf

Hi Renee. There are a couple fairly new authors that I have read that you may enjoy!! First is Nicole Peeler she has written two Jane True series books so far, First one is “Tempest Rising” and the second “Tracking The Tempest” the third is coming out in Jan. There are plenty of supernatural characters and it’s very sexy, funny, and full of twists. She finds out she isn’t who she thought she was and her life starts to take some amazing turns.. She gets swept off her feet by a suave vampire investigator, protected by a talking dog who is more that what he seems, then gets supernaturally trained by a gnome who she says, “has the disposition of the gunnery Sergent from Full Metal Jacket”. I laughed till I cried at parts, and blushed at others. LOL I’ve already read them three times since TB went off, in my opinion they are that good!
The others is by Gail Carriger, found her from Charlaine’s site last year. She has written “Soulless”, “Changeless”, and “Blameless”, her forth “Heartless” will be out July ’11. They are about a strong willed woman(Alexia) in Victorian London, that is born without a soul and is called a preternatural. When she touches a supernatural creature they become human with her touch, but only while she touches them. There are vampires, werewolves, and evil scientists who are trying to find out what she is and how to use her. They are very good reads, and Alexia is a very strong willed woman that takes crap from nobody.
Well I hope that if you read any of these books, you will enjoy them as I have. Will I’m off to start reading my Cat and Bones books over again.. Following doctors orders..taking two Bones and calling in the morning!! 😉 LOL!!

Catherine

During the upcoming months, I’ll be catching up on new books from my favorite authors and rereading some favorites. I love paranormal romance books with plenty of sarcastic banter and innuendos. We get plenty of that with Cat and Bones!

Sarah Jackson

Nothing really ever fills the void that True Blood leaves. I will do my best to fill my need of love and vampires by reading my favorite authors and drooling over some sexy vampires! I am especially looking forward to Jeaniene’s newst addition this February!

Karen

I want to see more stories with the vampire/fae/druid relationships, as well as other supernatural creatures (i.e., werewolves, shifters – hell, even unicorns!) thrown in. The old lore holds a treasure trove of inspiration for the right mind, and, I believe, JF has the right combination of inspiration and imagination to bring this new world to life…
