Win Signed Copies of Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress Books

True Blood season 3 has now ended, and we’ve begun an excruciating 9 month wait for Season 4. It is, and will continue to be hard, but there are ways to get through it after re-watching the previous seasons of True Blood over and over and talking with fellow fans here on TrueBloodNet.com.

One thing I’ve found very helpful in the wait for each new season of True Blood is to read other vampire books. In doing that, I’ve discovered many other amazing authors whose stories drag me directly into the worlds they have created. One such author is Jeaniene Frost. She kindly donated several copies of her Night Huntress books to TrueBloodNet.com to be given away as prizes.

Halfway to the Grave, Jeaniene FrostThe Night Huntress series feature lots of action, wonderful romance, and sexy vampires. The main stories are about Cat, a half-vampire trained from an early age to hate vampires, and Bones, a vampire she ends up falling in love with. They go through trials and tribulations, as well as disapproval from their peers, but as with many other wonderful stories, true love prevails.

This series is fun, high action adventure, and it’s a pleasure to read these books again and again. I can’t choose a favorite in this series because I love Cat and Bones and the story of their life together is amazing!

In fact, Charlaine Harris is a fan of Jeaniene’s! In an author quiz she answered for EW’s Shelf Life, Charlaine said that the fictional character she’d love to marry is Bones from the Night Huntress series.

Three (3) lucky winners will be chosen to win a signed copy of Jeaniene Frost’s book Halfway to the Grave. One (1) lucky winner will get the grand prize, consisting of five books, all signed by Jeaniene Frost.

Honestly, I like just about anything paranormal romance. I echo the sentiments that I see in some of the comments above about historical paranormal romance, that would definitely be a great suggestion, but I would also take futuristic as well. I will read just about anything dealing with vampires and the supernatural, and if it is good writing, I will read it again and again. I have read several other vampire series, and they all have their own unique spin on the world of the paranormal.

I would love to see tons more historical romances, I feel that stories set in real time situations always get my attention more! Would love to read them!

True Blood was the reason why i started reading books about the supernatural world, i just needed to know what would happen to sookie and bill after the first season ended, so i bot all the Sookie Stackhouse novel and just fell in love with that kind of literature.
Since then I already read all the books from House of night, Vampire Academy, Morganville Vampires, Twilight, Sookie Stackhouse novel, Midnight Breed and Night Huntress Novel and Night Huntress World.
After reading all those books i can say that my favorite authors are, without a doubt, Charlaine Harris AND Jeaniene Frost. I love the way they write, their characters and the hole world the~ve created. Im a HUGE fan, and it would mean SOO much to me to have a signed book from her…Anyone can buy a book and read it, but to a fan, having an autographed copy is the biggest present EVER.
So, what am i gonna do now the season is over??? READ!
cant wait to have the 5# book about Cat and Bones in my hands…but in the meantime im gonna go look for new series to fill my need for stories.

I would very much like to see some vampire stories mixed with historical romance and adventure. The present-day stories are great, but I’d enjoy it being mixed up a bit.

Thanks,
Jules

Now that True Blood is over what I want to see is more True Blood. Ok ok, if I can’t have that maybe some short clips and teasers from the next season??
I have just started reading the Cat and Bones series and I am wondering where Bones has been all my life? I love that Cat thinks of the big picture and others besides herself when making decisions. I also love how the author draws out the romance. The characters may feel attracted to eachother, but they don’t just jump into bed at the first chance they get.

I started reading paranormal romance books with J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series and have been hooked ever since. Anyone have any other favorite authors they would like to suggest?

    Chrissie (Nay) A

Alexandra Ivy’s Guardians of Eternity series, Larissa Ione’s Demonica series, Shayla Black’s Doomsday Brethren series, Vicki Pettersson’s Signs of the Zodiac series, Charlaine Harris’ Southern Vampire series (Sookie/True Blood series), Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau Vampire series, Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series.. just to name a few. LOL

Darn forgot Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breed series too. That’s enough books to keep you occupied for a long while.

In a sea of paranormal romance novels that center on or have vampires in them, it’s hard to get into unless the author has something uniquely theirs. Originality, even in something so popular and used, is a huge win for me.

More than that, I enjoy seeing a character grow, evolve, and become someone who I can say, “Hell yeah, awesome person!” A character with wit and flaws abound, but at the center is a good human (or otherwise).

With these two elements, originality and character development, along with some rad fight scenes and a happy ending, my elation is unrivaled and I am found three days later in amore with a book. ;D

I like to see well developed worlds that are somewhat believable. In general,I do not care for vampire worlds where aliens are involved (although Adrian’s books are an exception). I like to read an entire series in a row, and when I’m done, I know I’m satisfied when I hate to leave that world. I like crisp writing and complex plot lines. I like strong female characters whether they’re vampires or not.

I’ve been reading other paranormal/urban fantasy stories since True Blood is done for the year. I recently read Gail Carriger’s newest book in her Parasol Protectorate series, Blameless, and am really looking forward to the newest book in Nicole Peeler’s Jane True series, Tempest’s Legacy. I’ve also been rereading favorite books and am looking forward to rereading the fourth book in Charlaine Harris’ Southern Vampire Mysteries in anticipation of the next season of True Blood.

Now that True Blood season 3 is over ;( I am re reading the book series and picking up some new vamp reads. I am also awaiting the next installment of sookie’s adventures in Mrs. Harris’ upcoming release next year. When I am done with the series, I will give shifters and were’s their read up next in my book pile;)

Honestly, I love it all. I love new takes on the Paranormal and Urban Fantasy worlds. Sometimes I’m in the mood for a whole different world of paranormal, and other times I just like a littler supernatural mixed in with our world. It all depends. As long as it’s a good read, that’s all that matters. Oh, and that the males are appealing to read;) hehe

Caressa

I really enjoy the mixing of the human life with the supernatural issues. It allows for regular people, regular lives and stories that have “been done” in countless stories throughout literary history to be completely redone where new rules apply and where there can be completely new, unexpected new endings, resolutions or even new problems. It really gives authors the freedom to push boundaries with their imaginations and skill ttheir only obstacles. And that means even with a mundane predictable problem we can now be utterly shocked and surprised in a day and age where we’ve all “seen it all”. While I love reading I’ve really enjoyed the twists and turns of TrueBlood on the small screen. It’s all about the ride and the supernatural creatures will take you from 0 to 160 to dead in a heartbeat…or not.

Gosh, this wait is going to be excruciating! lol

Well, while in wait I have to say that what I enjoy most in Vampire fiction is strong female leads, women who don’t back down despite their fear and I have to admit that I do adore the horror sometimes even more than romance, if the former is well presented! XD

Desire a strong heroine, witty clever characters, packed with action and romance. I adore this series and dream of the after-life of me and bones!

Now that True Blood is over and you need something to fill the void, the hunger and passion that True Blood fed to us, what do you want or enjoy to see in paranormal romance books regarding vampires?

I, like many other True Blood fans, am going back and watching the previous seasons of True Blood over again and have pre-ordered the third season on Blu-Ray. But I also read a TON of books. Lately, I’ve been reading Sherrilyn Kenyon (the BEST Paranormal Romance writer EVER), JR Ward, Moira Rogers, Annette Blair, and so many more authors’ books. Most of them are paranormal writers, though Annette writes contemporary witch books that are utterly fantastic.

I haven’t yet tried Jeaniene Frost, but I’ve heard wonderful things about her. It would be very cool to win these books, or even just the first one.

Also, kudos to everyone at TrueBloodNet for hosting these awesome contests! I hope we see more of them in the future. 🙂

I will definately be reading as we wait for TB to return. And I will most certainly be reading Jeaniene Frost.

Lillian Beaver

I have been reading several books, and I am also watching the new Vampire Diaries season as well as SuperNatural on the CW.

Roxanne Rhoads

I love a complete world built in books then I enjoy lots of romance, steamy encounters and a plot full of story arcs twists and turns that I don’t see coming.

I love books that surprise me.

Jasmin

When I read a book about vampires I really want to know all about their world (the world the author created)… which of the rumors about them are true, which aren’t, and if there are even other things about them nobody knew before. I really enjoy it when an author “plays” with the rumors, making some of them real, creating exciting new ones and even making fun of others (like Jeaniene with the wooden stake ^^). And to be honest I don’t really fancy “love-at-first-sight-stories”. Maybe that’s why Cat & Bones are my favs. She totally hated him in the beginning and I so loved that!

wendy

I love reading the different authors. Each one has their own veiw on vamps. When I get a new book I have to thinkokay which vamps are these. DO they are a heartbeat, dothey die during the day, etc. I have to say though Jeaniene’s are my favorite. You gotta love Cat and Bones.
