True Blood’s Carrie Preston Set to Return to ‘The Good Wife’

October 12, 2014

Keep October Free if You Want to See Carrie Preston in The Good Wife:

Carrie Preston stars as Arlene Fowler Bellefleur in HBOs True Blood Season 7 Episode 7 entitled May Be the Last TimeFor fans of True Blood’s Carrie Preston (who played fiery redhead Arlene Fowler in the HBO vampire series) make sure you keep October 26th 2014 clear on your calendar! According to Hallels, this is the predicted day on which Carrie will return to her role of Elsbeth Tascioni in CBS’s The Good Wife.

They also list the synopsis for the episode (Episode 6 of Season 6) screening on this date as follows (although we can find no confirmation on this synopsis with any other website, so we must assume this is not yet the official synopsis):

Alicia and Elsbeth put their legal battle on hold when the government brings an economic espionage charge against both of their clients. Meanwhile, Diane sets her sights on moving Florrick/Agos/Lockhart into the Lockhart/Gardner/Canning office space, leading to a battle with her former partners David Lee and Louis Canning.

If you are planning to view Carrie’s return to The Good Wife, you may want to tune in a week earlier than the 26th though as Carrie’s IMDb page has her character Elsbeth Tascioni listed as returning for Episode 5 (entitled Shiny Objects) of Season 6.

VIDEO: True Blood’s Riley Smith Discusses Being the Latecomer

August 30, 2014

Joining HBO’s True Blood Was Like Joining a Family:

Arlene Fowler (Carrie Preston) and Keith (Riley Smith) star in HBO's True Blood Season 7 Episode 7 (entitled 'May Be the Last Time')For newcomer, Riley Smith, joining the cast of HBO’s True Blood was daunting, but the cast welcomed him with open arms – especially Anna Paquin (who plays main character Sookie Stackhouse)!

Riley joined the cast of True Blood for the final season as vampire Keith, a member of James’s (Nathan Parsons) band seen in Episode 1 (entitled Jesus Gonna Be Here) of Season 7. He falls for waitress Arlene Fowler (Carrie Preston) after he saves her life by giving her his blood in order to heal her. Their relationship is hindered right from the start though considering Arlene has never been a vampire advocate as well as the fact she is a Hep-V carrier. In the True Blood finale (Episode 10, entitled Thank You), we see Keith and Arlene seem to have their happily ever after.

In the video interview below, Riley discusses the True Blood family, their fans and plenty more with AfterBuzz TV hosts Kristin Carole and Scott Moore. Riley also discusses his character’s relationship with waitress Arlene and how there possibly wasn’t enough time left to really flesh out their love story. He was also unaware of just how much of a fan favorite Arlene is to the truebies.

True Blood’s Carrie Preston Wins a EWwy

August 23, 2014

Entertainment Weekly Interviews Carrie Preston About Her EWwy Win:

Carrie Preston stars as Arlene Fowler Bellefleur in HBOs True Blood Season 7 Episode 7 entitled May Be the Last TimeEntertainment Weekly recently celebrated their EWwy awards. True Blood’s Carrie Preston (who plays waitress Arlene Fowler) was lucky enough to win one for her work in The Good Wife. Carrie was on the line during the presentation, ready to speak to EW about her win. Considering the fact she is phoning in from the set of The Good Wife (where she was having a costume fitting), there is plenty to talk about in relation to that.

But they do touch on Carrie’s role in HBO’s True Blood – in particular the fact that in seven seasons, she only just celebrated her very first True Blood sex scene. This leads into a discussion about Arlene’s evolution since she was held captive by Hep-V positive vampires early on in Season 7. Also discussed is the fact that while all the cast of True Blood were given the option of requesting items to keep from the True Blood set, the cast didn’t actually get to keep many of the items with the exception of a few costumes. All the items were cataloged and many are now being sold via auction on ScreenBid. As for the final upcoming episode of True Blood, Carrie reveals she will be watching it at home with her family.

True Blood Season 7 Spoilers: Goodbyes, Weird Sex & Love Triangles

August 15, 2014

Could an Original Cast Member Die in Episode 9 of HBO’s True Blood ?

Tara Buck stars as Ginger in HBO's True Blood Season 7It seems Episode 9 (entitled Love is to Die) will say a final goodbye to yet another original cast member of HBO’s True Blood! But will they die? It seems the devil is in the fine print of what TVGuide had to say about the upcoming episode recently:

With only two episodes to go, there are a lot of narrative threads to tie up, including the issue of Bill [Compton]’s mortality. I will only say this: At least one original cast member will say goodbye for good this week. In possibly related news, a longstanding love triangle will be resolved and you’ll see one of the show’s weirdest — and funniest — sex scenes between a long-unrequited pair.

How interesting is that news? With the admission of a long term love triangle also being resolved, one could assume that with Bill’s (Stephen Moyer) death, Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) finally chooses Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard).  Consolation prize anyone? However, there is another love triangle going on at the moment – that of Hoyt Fortenberry (Jim Parrack), Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll) and Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten). Perhaps TVGuide are referring to that triangle instead? Maybe Jess and Hoyt get back together and Jessica decides to move to Alaska to be with him? After all, it doesn’t specifically say the cast member will die.

And what of that sex scene, huh? Who do we know on True Blood that is part of an ‘unrequited pair’? Could it be Sookie and Eric? Probably not, since they have been intimate before. But it sure doesn’t leave many other options. Perhaps Arlene (Carrie Preston) and Keith (Riley Smith)? Especially since TVLine had this spoiler to announce:

Not everyone will get a happy ending on True Blood… but I think it’s safe to say that Arlene and Keith will be among the lucky few. Though we’re not going to get another pool table scene, this Sunday’s episode does show the effect Arlene’s relationship with Keith is having on her. (Spoiler Alert: She’s a very happy woman.)

But they haven’t been an item for very long, and many wouldn’t even really consider them as such. Oh, hang on a minute – what about Ginger (Tara Buck) and Eric? Now that would potentially be hilarious and weird!

VIDEO: True Blood Season 7 Episode 9 (Love is to Die) Sneak Peek #2

August 15, 2014

Arlene Offers Sookie Some Advice:

Anna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse in HBO's True Blood Season 7 Episode 9 (entitled 'Love is to Die') Here’s the penultimate sneak peek #2 clip of HBO’s True Blood ever! In Episode 9 (ominously entitled Love is to Die) of True Blood Season 7, we find Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and Arlene Fowler (Carrie Preston) deep in conversation at Bellefleur’s (formerly known as Merlotte’s) about loss, grief and how to move on. It seems Sookie has admitted that she never fully committed to her relationship with Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) because of the feelings she still had for vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer).

The question is though, is Sookie and Arlene having this chat because Bill has already succumbed to Hep-V?

Let us know your thoughts by commenting below!

Synopsis:

Sookie Stackhouse retreats in confusion. Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) makes a choice. Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) exercises uncharacteristic restraint, while Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) faces a dilemma after being caught in a lie.

Written by Brian Buckner; directed by Howard Deutch.

True Blood Season 7: Arlene’s Story Arc Completes It’s Circle

August 9, 2014

Carrie Preston is Happy With Arlene and Keith’s Love Story:

Arlene Fowler (Carrie Preston) and Keith (Riley Smith) star in HBO's True Blood Season 7 Episode 7 (entitled 'May Be the Last Time')A fondness for vampires has been a long time coming for Bon Temps waitress, Arlene Fowler. When HBO’s True Blood started seven seasons ago, Arlene was decidedly anti-vampire. But for Carrie Preston, the actor who portrays the redheaded character, she is glad Arlene has come full circle:

It was a great build. It builds up over the seasons, as opposed to breaking down or kind of fizzling out — it was the opposite. I feel like I had a great climb, and where it ended up was perfect… She has really grown more than a lot of the characters — to have her at the beginning be so terrified of vampires and at the end actually starting a relationship with one, that’s a remarkable thing.

Preston has also confirmed that this relationship will solidify and grow throughout the final few episodes of True Blood. Which is nice to see after all the broken relationships and heartbreak that has befallen her, starting with having a murderous ex-husband and ending just last season with the loss of Terry Bellefleur (Todd Lowe).

Arlene has not grown into a vampire appreciating member of society, but many characters on the hit show now look to Arlene for advice, the most recent being Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell). Now that she runs and owns Bellefleur’s (formerly called Merlotte’s), it seems Arlene has settled into a nice groove in her life, even if she confessed to Sam that she is only pretending to be happy in the hope that eventually will actually be happy. And, speaking of Merlotte’s, playing a drunk Arlene has been among Carrie’s fondest memories of being Arlene:

I’m pretty partial to drunk Arlene. Even from day one — in the pilot, she’s in the back of the bar, saying something like “It’s that vampire.” Then you jump ahead to when she sees Bill (Stephen Moyer) walking in daylight, that line “Y’all, I’m wasted,” and then in just episode five when she sees Keith and says, “I have to go make tinkle because I am a human.” She’s pretty funny.

COMIC CON 2014: What if There Was a True Blood Season 8?

August 2, 2014

The True Blood Cast Discuss Their Show For the Last Time at Comic Con:

Kristin Bauer van Straten stars as vampire Pam in HBO's True Blood Season 7 Episode 7 (entitled 'May Be the Last Time')For the cast of HBO’s True Blood, attending San Diego’s Comic Con this year was bittersweet. While they got to celebrate their show one last time, it also churned up the emotions too. For Kristin Bauer van Straten (who plays vampire Pam – a character with, ironically, very little display of emotion) it was particularly trying. As a person who gets very emotional very easily, she felt worn out and dehydrated by the end:

It’s been really intense. I’m totally dehydrated. I feel like I’m ten months pregnant and I just need a c-section because it’s going on forever.

While Kristin never wanted the show to end, she is certainly over having to relive the end of it!

And what if they did go into a Season 8? Where do they think their characters could have gone? Is there anything their character hadn’t done that the actor would liked to have seen happen if there were another season? Carrie Preston, the actor who plays Arlene Fowler, was happy with Arlene’s story line, but she felt it would have been interesting to see her character become a supernatural!

True Blood Season 7: New Episode 7 Stills Released!

August 1, 2014

Sookie, Jessica, Bill and Sarah Newlin All Look So Sad:

Stephen Moyer stars as Bill Compton and Deborah Ann Woll stars as Jessica Hamby in HBO's True Blood Season 7 Episode 7 (entitled 'May Be the Last Time')With only a few short episodes left of HBO’s True Blood Season 7, fans are eager to drain every last drop of information before the show meets it’s final death. So, we have scrounged up some stills for you! Three of these stills show sad faces: Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) seems to be searching to skies for something (her fairy grandfather, Niall Brigant (Rutger Hauger) perhaps?) Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) seems perplexed over something. Meanwhile, Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and his progeny, Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll) appear to be deep in discussion.

And then there is Arlene (Fowler (Carrie Preston). Bright, happy, red like a sunset, Arlene. Seems she is the only one happy in Bon Temps in Episode 7 – sure hope we’re wrong about that.
