Check Out These Photo’s of the True Blood Cast From BEFORE They Were on True Blood:
For many True Blood fans, the HBO vampire series introduced them to some amazing new actors. However, these actors weren’t all fresh from acting school. Some, like Denis O’Hare (who played villain Russell Edgington) had starred in many, many TV shows and movies before they were introduced to truebies via True Blood.
So lets have a look at some of them via Mashable’s recent list:
Before Anna Paquin was a telepathic waitress called Sookie Stackhouse, she won an Oscar when she was only a child in a movie called The Piano:
Stephen Moyer starred as Prouix the Architect in Quills alongside Geoffrey Rush and Kate Winslet long before he took on the role Bon Temps resident vampire Bill Compton:
Alexander Skaragard starred in many Swedish movies before starring as a male model called Meekus in Zoolander. However, his earliest role was that of Kalle Nubb in Åke och hans värld (Åke and His World). Of course, we all know him now as the 1000 year old viking vampire, Eric Northman:
Before Ryan Kwanten was a dimwitted southern deputy called Jason Stackhouse, he starred as Vinnie in a long time recurring role on Australia’s Home and Away:
Rutina Wesley may be known as Tara Thornton, the bestie of Sookie who managed to die twice in True Blood, but before that she was Raya Green in How She Move:
And as for Kristin Bauer van Straten who plays vampire Pam? Well, she will forever go down in history as Jillian, the woman with man hands in Seinfeld:

Rutina Becomes BFF With Another Character Who Has Issues:
Rutina Wesley has been busy since she learned not only of the demise of her regular gig on HBO’s True Blood, but also of the death of her character, Tara Thornton in Season 7. With 13 Sins and Last Weekend already released, Rutina has just joined the cast for David M. Rosenthal’s new thriller, The Perfect Guy.
Leah Vaughn (Sanaa Lathan) appears to have the ideal life. She enjoys a challenging, fast-paced career as a lobbyist; Dave (Morris Chestnut), her longterm boyfriend loves her. And yet … at 36, she’s ready to move to the next phase. Marriage and a family seem a logical and welcome step. Dave is not so sure. A bit commitment phobic, his misgivings lead to a painful break up. Enter Carter Duncan (Michael Ealy), a handsome, charming stranger whose path keeps crossing with Leah’s. Caring and solicitous of Leah and her family and friends, (Charles S. Dutton, Rutina Wesley, Kathryn Morris) their relationship rapidly progresses. It seems Leah has met The Perfect Guy. But if it seems too good to be true … soon his protective nature morphs into something more sinister. It’s clear Leah has to end this new relationship and when she does, her onetime lover becomes her ultimate enemy. It will take every bit of her cunning and resolve to escape and outwit him.
Rutina will – once again – be playing the best friend of the main character. Can’t wait to see this at the movies. Let us know your thoughts by commenting below.

Kristin Also Talks About Being Pam and the Parallels Between Sookie and Buffy:
After fans of HBO’s True Blood saw Tara (Rutina Wesley) die off screen in the very first episode of Season 7, many thought she wasn’t dead thanks to the fact that Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) doesn’t seem to notice the death of her progeny. It seems the actor who plays Pam has something to say about that during her recent interview with Vulture:
We do find out more about that later. There is something about that in episode three. I can’t totally tell you about it, but it is something that is addressed, and it was kind of an editing decision, but it will be addressed.
She doesn’t explain further, but it will be interesting to see how this plays out in Episode 3. Perhaps Pam was busy playing Russian roulette and had to keep her cool about Tara, or maybe there is the possibility we are on a different time frame to the events occurring back in Bon Temps?
And now Pam has to deal with the fact her maker, Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) has contracted Hep-V. Although, considering Eric’s sister, Nora (Lucy Griffiths), died so quickly from her infection, many fans are worrying Eric may have jumped straight out of the burning sun and into the sudden death round! Although, Kristin Bayer van Straten suggests there may still be hope:
…we see with human illness, when people get the same disease, such as cancer, the outcome can be very different. That’s explored a lot during this season. That’s a huge subject. And I feel like we’ve gotten to know over the years, especially after we saw Pam’s flashback, how important Eric is to her, because he saved her. The life she was headed for was going to be hard and short and lonely, and she really chose, and forced him, to either allow her to die in that moment, or become a vampire and create that special bond. And whenever he’s been in peril, she’s been so vulnerable. That’s when we realized how much he meant to her. And to find him in such a state… Their relationship is more complex than a father/daughter relationship, but that’s the closest thing we have as humans. A best friend and a father that’s been stretched over a hundred years. It’s inconceivable for her to think of existing without him.
Besides acting as Pam in HBO’s True Blood Season 7, Kristin Bauer van Straten also has time to catch up on another great vampire series; Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Considering the show she currently stars in, it seems she can’t help herself drawing parallels between the two blonde leads:
I’m in the middle of season four, they’re in college, and Buffy is trying to get away from trying to be the Slayer, but of course, she can’t. She’s being sucked back in, and she’s not having so much luck with human boys. Sookie doesn’t have the easiest time in relationships, either. And neither did I! And when Buffy slept with Angel, and he became a monster, that was hard for me, because we root for them to be together, and it was so brilliant of the writers to make it impossible. If they ever truly abandon themselves in each other’s arms, he will lose his soul. There’s parallels there between Bill and Sookie, when he became not such a good guy.
It will be interesting to see what Kristin makes of the rest of the Buffy series – and how Pam’s story line will conclude in True Blood Season 7. You can read the full interview Kristin Bauer van Straten did with Vulture by clicking here.
