Their reasoning behind Bill being relatively low on the list is that, good looks and old-fashioned manners aside, he is not very interesting. And he doesn’t dress well. There are not enough words in the English language to disagree with that as strongly as I would like to. First of all, Bill can never go wrong with a henley and some tight pants. Or with no clothes at all. Also, how is it not interesting to have a vampire who is tortured by what he is?! He was turned against his will simply because he was a good man that Lorena found worthy to be her companion. He almost staked himself to stop from being a monster like his maker wanted him to be. He fell in love with Sookie and has found his way back to his humanity. He’s still a vampire and flawed. So sometimes he slips up and does something wrong, but he has someone who loves him and forgives him because she knows that he would sacrifice himself to protect her. If that’s not layered, I don’t know what is!

Eric earned a higher spot on the list because he is more of a bad boy, but why that automatically makes him hotter is beyond me.

On the one hand we have a whiney, questionable dresser, who plays Wii. On the other hand, we have a powerful, leather-wearing, club owning badass who can tell the other hand what to do.

This is clearly a matter of opinion, and the debate between Bill and Eric among True Blood fans will never be resolved. We’ve all got to agree to disagree on that one. But what we can all agree on is how crazy we are about this show. It has two great guys to fantasize over, both of whom should be higher on a list of hottest vampires than #10 and #3. And this is coming from someone who also watches Buffy and loves Spike and Angel, but seriously- True Blood is by nature sexier. Thoughts?

They are all sexy in their own way but for my personal taste,
My top five picks are:
1. Stephen Moyer
2. Alex O’loughlin
3. Stuart Townsend
4. Antonio Banderas
5. Alex Skarsgard

Sorry, but I like my men/vamps dark haired, with smoldering eyes, and of course, mature. Blond men look washed out to me, just not attracted to them.
I included Alex in my top 5 because I support all the men of True Blood.

    Right on Nia! I completely agree with you! Vampire Bill should be number one, and yes, even if I don’t really go for Eric for the same reasons as you plus he is too tall (looks ridiculous next to shorter persons) I will still vote for him as he is True Blood!

        No Argument Here,Nia about that!! There Is So much More to Bill than being just a “Brooding,Troubled Vampire”! As For Eric I like the fact that he is Tall It sort of dictates where Bill stands with regards to Him…After All Eric Is The Sheriff and The Boss Not Bill! Sam is Not a Vampire He’s something different a “shifter” as Mr. Northman so bluntly pointed out in 1 episode. I think that Sam deserves at least an honorable mention! Even though he’s technically Not a Vampire..He’s Cool None the less!! BTW GO TEAM TRUE BLOOD!!!
        Does Anyone know the score?? If Eric Northman DID have something to do with Bill’s “abduction” does that Mean that He is ahead?? LOL

          I would like to think that it is not the size that counts. Usually the BIGGER they are the HARDER they fall. Something to think about!!!!!!!

      I just got the last season on Dvd and wonder why that show did not make more of a splash! I found Tanya Huff’s writings by reading a Charlaine Harris anthology of her favorite writers!!Tanya huff started writing about Henry Fitroy in the early 90’s and I read the whole group of them.She is quite a good author! I then found out about the Lifetime series and got both Dvds.Kyle is really quite a hunk and I think the series was just in the wrong place at the wrong time!

    Jane – how about in ep 2 od s2 when he and Sookie were lying in bed and then Sookie said they were “fighting” and he rolled over to “prepare to be made up to” and his beautiful body just ripped!! It was so toned and his nice rounded hips and backside really made one pay attention!! Has to be one of my favourite scenes of that gorgeous, really interesting Vampire!!

    I cannot begin to describe how much i disagree! Eric and typical guy in the same sentance is just wrong…. very wrong! As for Bill being the reason most people watch… Well i think you need to get your facts straight, no offense of course 🙂

      Amen sister!!!I have been to MANY clubs in my life and have never met ANYONE as hot as Alex/Eric in any of them! I have,on the other hand ,met men as cute as Stephen/Bill in them.He would be my choice for man next door and Alex is the Viking God we all WISH lived next door! Alex number one!!!

      We are not talking books here – that is boring- it keeps on being bought up time and again ! By the way, if you took the effort to explore Bill, both book and tv, you would find he is a tortured soul trying to find his humanity! Plus he falls in love with a human! That is a great story in itself!

      Honestly , I really do find this Eric versus Bill argument boring and even more boring is Book Bill blah blah blah.

My top pick is Alexander Skarsgard. But Aidan Turner playing Mitchell on BBC’s Being Human should be close to top. Being Human’s 2nd season premiers in US June 2010 on BBC America.

Aidan Turner needs to move WAAAAAY up in this list. His character, Mitchell, is much better written and *acted* than 90% of this list.

Why Robert Pattinson is above Alexander Skarsgard is beyond me!? Ok he’s sort of kinda hot, but still peanuts compared to the Viking! ^^ Alex is my #1 without a doubt!…. Followed by James Marsters and David Boreanaz! Also Stephen Moyer should rank a lot higher!

OK Bill Compton #10? Are they kidding? He desrves to have a much higher spot! As for his attire, Whats wrong with Henleys and Dark colored Stone Washed Jeans? I think he dresses fine.
