Contest – Get Your Lips On Some Tru Blood!

The Delicious Beverage Debuts in Stores:

The New Plastic Tru Blood BottleNow that Tru Blood is available in plastic bottles well equipped for mortal hands, it is being more widely distributed.  BevMo!, a leading specialty retailer in the western United States, has slated the beverage for distribution in California and Arizona stores.  FMCG Manufacturing Company’s unique beverage will also be available in BevMo’s online store (www.bevmo.com) for #2.99 per bottle, or at Amazon. Over 1 million bottles have already been sold nationwide.

The Tru Blood soda will boast a distinct blood orange flavor. The taste will be both a bit sweet and a bit tangy, perfect for your favorite mixed drinks. The soda itself will be alcohol free so you don’t have to worry if any “teacup humans” get their hands on it.

Contest rules:

This contest is only open to residents of the continental United States. Please leave us a comment below, sharing what you are most looking forward to in Season 5 of True Blood. There are 2 prizes. Grand prize: a case of 24 drinks. Second prize: a 6-pack of drinks. One comment per person, winners will be chosen randomly. Contest ends at midnight PST, Thursday, October 20. Good luck!

Just for fun, here is a list of HBO approved mixed drinks using Belvedere Vodka. Be sure to let us know your favorite!

Great Tru Blood Drink Recepies:

The Belve Compton
1.5 oz Belvedere Orange
1/2 oz lime juice
3 oz ginger beer
3 oz Tru Blood
Add all ingredients to a highball glass filled with cubed ice and garnish with an orange wedge.

Faeries’ Nectar
1.5 oz Belvedere Pink Grapefruit
3 oz grapefruit juice
Dash lime juice
Shake with ice and strain over cubed ice into a highball glass.
Top with 3 oz Tru Blood.
Garnish with a slice of light fruit (if not available a grapefruit slice will suffice).

Lovin in the Coven
2 oz Belvedere Citrus
1 oz lemon juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
Dash egg white
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Charge with 1/2 oz Tru Blood.

Belvedere Bloodsucker
1.5oz Belvedere PG
1/2 Campari
Shake with ice and pour over cubed ice into a rocks glass.
Top with 1.5 oz Tru Blood.
Garnish with a blood orange wedge.

Belvedere After Dark
1.5 oz Belvedere Vodka
1/2 oz ginger syrup
1/2 lemon juice
Pour 2 oz Tru Blood over ice into a highball glass.
Shake the rest of the ingredients and layer over the Tru Blood.
Will cause a two tone effect.
Garnish with a slice of ginger and a slice of blood orange.

The show is steering away from the books. As much as I don’t like it, it also keeps me wondering what’s going to happen next. Still, True Blood and the Sookie Stackhouse novels will ALWAYS be my happy place no matter what. I’m looking forward to the rest of the upcoming episodes in general and the surprises that always keep me wanting more.

I’m looking forward to seeing Sookie on her own for once.  I think it would be nice to see the show live up to some of the comments Sookie makes about what she should be able to have/be as a woman – in particular, not needing a love life to be a complete person.

On a less meaningful note, I hope there will be more Godric/Eric interaction.  The Maker/Child relationship has always been one of my favorite aspects of the vampire trope.

I’m looking forward to more shirtless Alcide and Eric… and if Alan’s throws in more flashbacks of Bill in eyeliner, that would be great too.  Serious though, I can’t even predict what’s going to happen next and what to expect. lol

The part of season 5 that I’m looking forward to the most is the return of Russell!!  He’s quite the crafty one and I’m sure his plan for vengeance is going to make an amazing story arc.  I’m also looking forward to seeing howEric found Pam and made her into a vampire.

I’m kind of pissed that Sookie walked away from Eric this season. I hope that she comes to her senses and realizes what that tall, blond Viking can do for her. I love Alcide just as much so I wouldn’t mind seeing them hook up for sure. I’m DYING to meet QUINN, in my opinion, he was by far Sookie’s most practical relationship in the books. She was really hard on him, and there are hundreds of possibilities for that. The Vampire summit should be really interesting too now that Sophie-Ann has been killed off? Oh, the possibilities.

Lets face it all things Eric work for me…power with a twist. Power of a king without anyone knowing it. Job title is still Sheriff but pulls all the king strings. Russel can’t get near Eric when he has the backing of others in power. 
Pammy needs a playmate,maybe she can turn a Eric clone by accident. You know in her grief she needed to be close to her maker but Eric is angry at her for the Sookie thing.Maybe a half breed fairy Eric look-a-like.
Bill’s dethroning…power isn’t his thing…he’s more of the behind the scenes sneeky, weasel. Bill needs to be on the run for killing the AVL clan…so he becomes a voyeur and monitors everything from a distance…everything is being watched by remote cameras and no one knows it. Yes, the sneaky weasel will be using collected intel for blackmail. 
Sookie just needs to grow a pair…too many bad things have happened to her and she develops a dark side…nice Sookie is gone and she is a force to be reckoned with. She parties to forget. Bill records her comings and goings but can’t help her. Eric is a friend with benefits for her…no strings arrangement. Fairies have made their way back into the real world. Slowly the fairies becomes involved in Sookie’s everyday life and she doesn’t even know it. Fairies are trying to repopulate using the town as it’s breeding ground. 
Sam has been a bad boy and is now going to be a father but the mother is not one to stay around. Lots of trouble for Sam.

I want to see the farie try to take on the humans. And how Sookie will have to turn on her own kind to save those she loves. I think Hoyt’s Mama needs to go a little nuts over Jessica and Hoyts break up. I think Sookie’s parents should not be dead they were being held captive and escape to let Sookie and Jason in on a plot. This season Jason finds out he is special in a very different than Sookie and he actually is the one who saves the day.

I am most looking forward to the tension between Eric and Sookie since his memory has returned, finding out what’s happened to Tara, the return of Russell Edgington, the heating up of Jason and Jessica’s relationship, hearing Bill say “Sookeh”, and figuring out what Rene meant when he was talking about Terry 🙂

hopefully we will see Sookie being able to stand on her own and make her own decisions and choices, she will have to help Tara! Eric and Bill working with each other instead of fighting which gets nowhere,but it’s funny to watch! Hoyt will grow some balls and move on and Lafayette will learn how to control his powers as a medium better with the help of Jesus, his ghostly boyfriend not the big guy  in the clouds

Dear Season 5,
I hope we will finally see the Sookie that can take care of herself–who can kick some supernatural butt. I also look forward to: the fabulous Pam one-liners, a Jessica who embraces her inner Vamp, Lafayette’s ghost romance with Jesus (they’re sooo sweet), Ginger screaming, and maybe, (please) a reunion with Sookie and Eric’s Gracious Plenty. 
I know, Season 5, you will not be at all (probably) like Dead As A Doornail, and I’m now okay with that–as long as it means there is a slim chance Quinn might not show up (boo). So, I look forward to that as well.

I am looking forward to season 5 being better than season 4.
I am anxious to see what Russel is going to do,  Bill and Eric versus the Authority. Would love to know who exactly the authority are.
