Stephen Moyer Talks About Season 3

Stephen MoyerCNN’s Showbiz Tonight recently finished up their True Blood HBO Emmy After Party special with a little tidbit from Stephen Moyer about season 3 of True Blood. We all love watching Stephen and Anna portray the adorable couple Bill and Sookie on the show. Stephen has also said that he enjoys working alongside Anna because he loves spending all that extra time with her. Well Stephen admitted to Showbiz Tonight that there is the possibility that he might not get to work with Anna as much in season 3. Here is what Stephen had to say:

“I love working with Anna–I don’t think we will be working together this season only because it’s very hard to make Bill and Sookie the couple just be Bill and Sookie the couple. Nobody wants to watch that forever–every single drama you’ve ever watched has that thing where now you’ve watched and now let’s put him over there and see how he works with her and how she works with him…so we’ll see!”

Well season 2 did end with Bill being kidnapped and spoilers have already reported that Sookie will be trying to find him with the help of a young man/werewolf by the name of Alcide.  So it seems that Stephen and Anna will not be filming as many scenes together as the previous season if he has been kidnapped.  However what does it mean in terms of Bill and Sookie‘s relationship?  Guess we will have to wait and see!

I’m excited for season three.
Sounds that just like the third book, Sookie goes to look for Bill with Alcide. I really love the books.

All I can think about is that Next Season we may Not see as much of BC as we have seen in the first couple of years! Perhaps, Bill Now that he’s “out of the way” for a while May Not have as big a part in season 3. I couldnt imagine a season where Bill was Not in Most of the episodes! Of Course, I couldn’t imagine a year where Tony Soprano was All but Absent from the Sopranos But David Chase Did Precisely That in the 1st part of S6! I know without the focus being on Bill & Sookie it gives ample time to develop more additional characters, But without Bill will Sookie be lost? defenseless? scared?
Not Only should SM Remain on the show,But, I think that he should get a Raise!! So should Alex…Definitely!!

Patty

I just want to know when Season 3 is going to start. Re-runs get old fast…need more! thanks :)=

Ms. Suprise

Bill needs to let the relationship between Eric and Sookie develops. Eric is absolutely amazing!!! I had read and completely absorbed by this fiction character, however, Alex S. gave him life. What a great casting right there. I wasn’t watching the show until recently – Eric/Alex appeared I got addicted.

Nicole

After watching season 2, I started to read the series. So far I’m on book 5 and am in love with Eric!! but I’m not sure if I’m already biased because of watching Alexander…that man is beautiful. I’ll be happy if they put more Eric in season 3 just so I can look at him! lol

Nia

Talking about the books now, which I DISLIKE doing (this site is called “True Blood”) but the topic just keeps turning up like a bad penny. So here goes:

Its funny how not one Eric fan wants to dicuss his ***spoiler*** complete and utter dishonesty in tricking Sookie into the “marriage” in the last book. He did that to her without any discussion or consideration for her feelings. He treated her like property or worse. I will not call him a name because I will not sink to the level of name calling. It is what it is.
Also in the last book, ****spoiler**** Sookie realizes who she really loved all along, the one who was always there for her. The one who would die for her.
Guess what, it was not Eric!!!!
Great sex only gets you so far.

Ok, I am done with the books.
I love True Blood. It is its own entity. I love both characters, Bill and Eric (as well as the rest of the amazing cast). They are both wonderfully played by Stephen and Alex and deserve our respect and gratitude for all they do. Whether you like where the story is going or not!
No matter what Alan B. does to the storyline, no matter what journey he takes these characters on, I am just glad to be a part of it. I am along for the ride and I am sure Alan will make it a wild one.
Team True Blood!!!!!!!!!!!

tara

lol well its good to see there are so many fans of both the books and Tv show. And just to clear the air i never brought up the “rape” issue. lol.

Lizzie 1701

Tara, Sorry, something went wrong with my fingers!

Eric, now, was in full control of his actions, so deserves the title of JERK! Bill, was a victim, not a Jerk! There is a difference!

Anyhow, this is True Blood and not the books. Who knows where Alan Ball will take it! It will be a test for Bill and Sookie in their quest for True Love!!

    Leslie

While everyone is commenting on the human-like behavior of both Bill & Eric and who is a bigger jerk, I think you’ve lost sight of the fact that they are vampires, ie, not human, and that blood and sex are entertwined and powerful forces, as well as their innate belief that vamps are superior to humans in the food chain. Some (Bill)struggle to retain their lost humanity, but their vamp nature and the vampire hierarchy they must adhere to can sabotage their relations with humans. Book talk is a slippery slope & don’t want to go there, but regarding the “rape” scene mentioned from the book: Bill stopped immediately when he realized what was happening.

Tara

All you team Bill people should read the books if you did you;d see he is just as big of a jerk if not a little more than Eric. lol.

    Lizzie 1701

Tara, I know enough about the books and still think poor Bill had no choice regarding his actions! He had to obey the Queen and he has to more or less obey Eric. He was in a no win situation and not in control. Even the so called “rape” scene – the poor boy had been tortured and was very hungry and in a dazed state – hi was not in control of his actions!

Leslie

Yup, I love the Bill and Sookie relationship as much as any of you, BUT the books are the blueprint for this show and how Alan Ball will spin it is the big question and we can be sure that there’s going to be other plot arcs which veer drastically from B&S being together. This ain’t no Twilight! I’m not going to be a spoiler, but it’s out there in Book 4, how and why Sook finds Eric, how should I say it, Hmmm, “desirable” best way I can describe it. Good news, for those who don’t know — it’s short lived, but real good while it lasts. As an aside, I really hope TB Sookie proves to be more forgiving of Bill than she is in the books.

    TruEricFan

desirable is a good way to explain it! I am interested to see where she sends the next book, and how things happen with all that stuff…

TruEricFan

If AB follows a lot of book 4 in season 4, quite a few of you Eric haters will change your tune 🙂

    Isis_Nocturne

Highly doubtful. I’ve read the entire series, and I still hate Eric over most of the characters. He’s manipulative, cares only about himself, etc. He USES Sookie, who isn’t all that great herself. However, there is NOTHING I’ve read that made me feel Eric was at all redeemable as a character!

      Lizzie 1701

Completely agree! Love Bill from the books and nothing willmake me love or even like Eric, the character. I just can’t see him that loved character in True Blood. Sorry!

    Nia

TrueEricFan, I personally have never and will never hate Eric. He is a terrific character and Alex has hit him spot on!! I just love Bill and he is my personal favorite. This hate business whether its Eric or Bill really should stop. It is inciteful and unnecessary. Especially when the negativity occasionally becomes directed towards Stephen Moyer, an amazing actor.
This hate talk mostly started with Eric supporters not seeing as much Eric screen time. Once a ball like that starts rolling it is hard to stop.
In the first 2 books it is mostly about Bill and Sookie. So why all the animosity becuse the first 2 seasons are focused on them. You are getting ahead of yourselves.
Negativity like this can doom a show. I cannot imagine any other show as incredible as True Blood and would feel sorry should it be over before its time.
Both the Bill and Eric characters are wonderful and important to the show. I will always be supportive of Alan B. no matter where he takes his storyline, and will always watch the show even if my favorite is not in the story as much.
Perhaps if just one Eric fan were to show such support it would be a great example for some of the others who choose to voice such negativity.
    Team True Blood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      TruEricFan

I agree. I don’t hate Bill. In the show, he’s wonderful. In the books, he’s done some pretty crappy things, but I never truly ‘hated’ him. It’s almost like Eric and Bill are the adult version of Edward and Jacob…the only person on the show that I truly hated was MaryAnn…I CHEERED when her story line ended lol

        Nia

You are right, Maryanns demise was pure poetry. She really was ultimately “staked” (LOL). Just not exactly like a vampire. Sam (and Bill for helping) was my hero!!!!
I read all the books long ago, and yes Bill withheld some things from Sookie (being sent by order of the queen was not his fault), But his love for her never failed.
Don’t you think, to mention one thing, that Eric tricking Sookie into a “marriage” was not crappy?????? That to me was worse than anything. He did it because he knew she would probably say no. No offense, but I do not understand how any Eric fan can just over look that fact?
I do not want to argue over the books, I prefer the show, but isn’t that true?
I guess we can say that neither Eric nor Bill were Angels.

          Leslie

Hi Nia, just don’t understand your use of the word “marriage” in what Eric did to Sookie. By deceiving her into sucking his blood, it meant that she would feel a connection to him, including an unwanted sexual attraction and he would then be able to feel her and whatever was happening in her life, which would enable him to have some power over her, his ultimate goal. Right?

          Nia

          Hi Leslie,
Sorry, I was replying to TruEricfan’s comment that Bill did “crappy” things in the book. I do not usually like to discuss the books but since she brought up the subject……..
If you have not read the final book then this is a ***spoiler***.
Eric tricks Sookie “in the last book” into a binding ritual marriage of sorts. She completely had no idea what was going on and was absolutely furious with him. It was arrogant and a worse betrayal than anything Bill may have previously done.
This had nothing to do with Eric/Sookie blood exchange.

FansR4Ever

You have got to be KIDDING! No Bill & Sookie? That’s the reason why I watched True Blood to begin with. Eric and Sookie….yuck…no WAY!

lani

You guys, are so cute….Ya, really get into the show!! Like OMG!! Sookie and Bill!! Or Sookie and Eric!! I totally Love them!!LOL!! Love it..!! I’m just thrilled over Stephen Moyer…Esp. as Bill….And that is the main reason I watch the show…Cause, He is a HOTTIE!!! I’m not to deep…!?

Lizzie 1701

I love Bill and Sookie together, but if she has to be with someone else, please not with Eric! That relationship would be against all her principles and would absolutely kill Bill!

I hope Bill will find someone else worthy of his love. Obviously, Sookie now looks like she will the same as in the books – flighty. Shame.

    Nia

Wow I kinda agree. She seems like she can be as fickle as the book Sookie. Bill was gone for one day (or 2)in season one and she had no trouble making out with Sam (I love Sam too, he deserved better). She knew he was going to a trial for saving her. Then she kicks Bill out and puts off Sam. Bill meets the sun to try to save her, comes back healed and she doesn’t even apologize for kicking him out or says thank you for almost dying to save her! That ALWAYS bugged me. But ?I still love their love story. I understand that next season will see them apart. I just hope we still see alot of Bill, he is the main reason I watch.

    Nia

Wow, you are so right. I never liked the book Sookie and sometimes show Sookie is the same, fickle!
She had no trouble making out with Sam when Bill was gone only a day or two (I love Sam too, he deserved better). She knew he was going to trial because of what he did to save her. Then she kicks him out and puts off Sam. Bill meets the sun to try and save her. Comes back healed and she doesn’t even say thank you or apologizes for kicking him out. That always bugged me.
If Sookie were to hook up with Eric after all that happened this season, it would be such a betrayal and would crush Bill. I hope she doesn’t do that.
I know they will be apart for most of the season, I just hope that we will still see alot of Bill. He is the main reason I watch!!!

Becca

Bill and sookie are great together in the show but it can’t always last. I need to see some Eric/sookie!! Can’t wait to see Alcide!

lani

I’m still waiting for season 2, to get here!! But, the things Stephen was saying about season 3..Cool!! They need to be with other people or things??!! It’s just a show folks…In the real world, they’re together..(Ah-h-h-..there is peace..) No, this show totally needs the switch an around kinda stuff…That’s what makes it interesting..for me anyways….Like I’ve said, before…That crazy vampire Bill, could be and should be with other women…The show is great..Keep it up!!!

lemor davidovici

i think the man/werewolf named alcide will fall in love with sookie & sookie will feel the same for alcide because of their feelings about each other it will be very hard for bill & sookie to have their special relationship so the only relationship that bill & sookie can have is friendship ! also because hoyt left jessica now jessica doesn’t care about feeding on other humans hoyt was her only hope in keeping her humanity !.

antonio

I think that this next season will be chock full of twists and surprises! Bill has been abducted…its obvious that someone wants him out of the way..Who? Lorena? Eric? Sophie-Ann??
Perhaps even a Were contracted to do the abduction??
I think this will make for great drama! Introducing another male into Sookie’s life will give her the opportunity to re-evaluate her relationship with Bill. Plus, With Bill away it puts Her into Very Real danger!! Who will rescue her in the event that she is targeted or chased down by Weres Other Vampires?? This would be Cool! Except for the fact that 1 of them Either Sookie or Bill might get hurt Very Badly in the next season!! Without their love bond to assist each other Where does that leave them? In Danger! But this is what drama is ALL about. I agree with SM that the show must progress and NOT remain stagnant. If Every day is Fair Weather Then What Is Fair Weather???

eva

I love Bill and Sookie – they’re the only reason I stuck through season two with all the mediocre Maryann and disappointing Dallas stuff. I hope if Bill is kidnapped they still have some way of working him into the story. I could watch a season with B & S apart, but not a season without Bill.

Niyah White

Yes so freaking happy.

Isis_Nocturne

Nooooooo! Bill/Sookie is the REASON I love True Blood so much!

    micaela

for me too they are one of the reasons I love so much this show! I really hope at the end they will come together cause Sookie and Bill are meant for each other!pleaseeeeee!!!
