Update: Sam Trammell Doesn’t Show Off His Lighter Side

December 6, 2010

Update: Upon further research for this story, I have discovered that the video below is NOT of True Blood’s Sam Trammell. Rather the video is a case of mistaken identity. I apologize sincerely and profusely for any confusion this may have caused our readers. Thank you to reader ponnypie for pointing this out. Looks can be quite decieving.

Though True Blood does have its lighter moments, Sam Merlotte always seems to be caught in the middle of all the drama. This is especially true after season three focused on the much darker side of Bon Temps‘ favorite bar owner. While there is no denying that Sam’s story this year was probably some of the best story for his character since the beginning of True Blood, having to actually act it out can be hard on an actor after a while.

Funny Man

Outside of playing Sam however, actor Sam Trammell can be quite the funny guy. His comedic flair has been recently noted by fans who attended Eyecon both this year and last year. He’s made such an impact that there is now a campaign to get Trammell on to host the iconic comedy show Saturday Night Live.

But you don’t have to wait for that to happen in order to see Trammell strut his stuff. Recently, the actor shot a short video entitled “Wiley vs. Rhodes” which is currently making the rounds on YouTube. The video is a live action take on the Looney Toons’; characters Wile E Coyote and the Road Runner. Sam plays the dastardly Wiley who is wandering in the desert in search of water. Rhodes, a runner, has what Wiley seeks but isn’t so keen to share. So Wiley has to find a way to get what he wants even if it all goes very wrong.

While we wait for the appearance of Sam Merlotte in season four of True Blood, you can pass the time by watching the clip below. Sam is nothing short of awesome in it! Watch and enjoy!
